Chapter IX Remediation of the Three Rivers

The wind is strong, the summer leaves are flying, and the emerald green flowers and leaves are swaying in front of the army, which is extremely psychedelic. Liu Tichun's drum team has already played beautiful music, which is the hometown tune most often heard in Chuangjun's hometown in northern Shaanxi.

Amidst the sound of trumpets, Li Guo and Li Laiheng, father and son, looked at each other and smiled.

Amidst the sound of drum music, Li Guo summoned the local folks and local officials and gentry in Mizhi one by one. With a humble and sincere attitude, he said some words of comfort and asked the officials and gentry to tell the people everywhere in northern Shaanxi:

"People in urban and rural areas should keep their own business and should not disturb each other. Soon the army will level the sea and unify the world, and all the villagers will be able to enjoy peace from generation to generation."

The Li family's ancestral mausoleum was built at Sanfeng Mountain. Mi Zhi's father and fellow villagers knelt by the nearby Wuding River to see him off. Li Laiheng thought of the past when the Ming Dynasty dug up the Li family's ancestral tomb and sighed inadvertently. He ordered Fang Yiren:

"We will build a new village fortress at the foot of the mountain, and select fifty local families as the guardians of the tombs... each will be given gold, silver, silk, and satin, and then the fields and livestock will be allocated so that they can live and work in peace and contentment and guard the tombs of our ancestors."

The ancestral tombs that were dug up by the Ming Dynasty in previous years had been rebuilt when Li Zicheng first came to Shaanxi. The bones scattered on the ground had long been buried by the Li clan, and now they are all piled into large tombs, with mausoleums built on them.

It forms a magnificent royal appearance.

Fang Yiren asked again: "How to place Zhang Xianzhong's tomb? Sun Kewang has sent envoys to Tianbao Mansion to ask our army to repair the tomb of his adoptive father."

Li Laiheng nodded: "Although the Western Ming Dynasty was a rebel against our dynasty, Zhang Xianzhong, Taizu, and King Nanyang started at the end of the Ming Dynasty and ran rampant across the country to avenge the unyielding anger of the people. This is similar to King Chen in the late Qin Dynasty. I heard that in the two Han Dynasties

They all offered sacrifices to King Chen to reward him for his heroic efforts in resisting the Qin Dynasty.

Liu Bang, the emperor of the Han Dynasty, specially arranged for thirty households to offer sacrifices to Chen Sheng. This was an inheritance from the pre-Qin practice of preserving the ancient country's sheji. Even if the Qin Dynasty destroyed other countries, it would still retain the weir's sheji.

Although Zhang Xianzhong was not the most righteous among the heroes in the late Ming Dynasty, he traveled across Sichuan and Chu, traveled to and from the Central Plains, and often fought alongside my great ancestor to fight against the Ming army.

The Battle of Jiashen also helped our dynasty contain the Qing army Wu Sangui and Duoduo, which contributed to China. Then our dynasty should follow the precedent of the Han Dynasty in offering sacrifices to Chen Sheng, and continue to offer sacrifices to his country after the country is overthrown. If Zhang Xianzhong, Sun Kewang, Li Dingguo and others

If any of his descendants come back, they should be treated with dignity so that they are not extinct."

Li Guo also agreed with this approach. His physical condition has become worse and worse this year. No one knows how long Emperor Guangzhong can persist.

Li Guo's face was pale, but his expression and eyes were still gentle. He said softly:

"Don't let the people of the world and future generations think that my family cannot tolerate others. Taizu was generous and took possession of the world. All descendants of the royal family should follow this king's way."

Song Qijiao, the official secretary of the government, said: "In all the founding kings of the past dynasties, there has never been one who was as generous and kind as the Taizu of our dynasty. If we conquer the world with benevolent government and royal principles, we will surely care for the future generations of the country for hundreds or even thousands of years."

Li Laiheng laughed when he heard this: "The minister is lying, how dare my family hope for this? I just want to pray for a few more years of peace for the people of the world."

Everyone was riding horses on the northern Shaanxi plateau, with the long Wuding River flowing by. The vicissitudes of history of the river and the heavy sadness of the loess all exuded a heroic temperament.

Li Laiheng looked back and saw that the widest and deepest loess in the world had been cut into thousands of gorges by ingenious craftsmanship, stretching majestically into the sky. The water of the Yellow River roared furiously and gushed down, and the vast sand poured down...

Since then, countless emperors and generals have poured their blood here.

Hans, Huns, Xianbei, Turks, Uighurs, Khitans, Mongols, and Manchus all fought here, but most of them were as lost as the eagles in the sky. In the end, the Han people still enjoyed this peace and tranquility.

.

There are also rows of willow trees along the Wuding River, which shade the earth and flutter in the wind. The willows on the Wuding River, commonly known as "dead-headed willows", have branches that are high and upward. The more they are cut, the stronger they grow. They are unique in northern Shaanxi.

There are some special landscapes whose tenacious and tenacious life resembles the warriors who broke into the camp.

"The power of heaven rolls over the earth and crosses the Yellow River. Thousands of miles of Qiang people sing the songs of the Han Dynasty. The water flows back across the mountains in Moyan, and it goes from Jiaoxi to the west to make waves."

In "Mengxi Bi Tan", Shen Kuo once recalled his past when he was an official in northern Shaanxi and said:

"I have crossed the Wuding River and crossed the living sand. People and horses moved even a hundred paces away. They were like people walking on a curtain. Although the lower foot is very solid, if it encounters a sinking, the people, horses and trailers will be wiped out in time.

There were hundreds of people trapped without any survivors."

A few words vividly describe the floating and uncertain nature of the Wuding River. It can be seen that the Wuding River in the Northern Song Dynasty is no longer the beautiful Sifu praised by Helian Bobo.

There is no beauty like this."

Since the Tang and Song Dynasties, Guanzhong's economy has been in decline, and soil erosion has become more and more serious. This has caused sediment overflow in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, making floods difficult to eradicate. In Kaifeng, the serious flooding of the hanging river has even endangered the development of the city.

Dashun is currently based in Kaifeng, and its future capital has not yet been determined. However, Chang'an is still under the control of Sun Kewang's army, and after the Yang Ji Rebellion, a fire burned the city of Chang'an into ruins.

It is unknown how many years it will take to revive this city.

As for Beijing, the former capital of the Ming Dynasty, when Dai Shan led the remnants of the Qing army to retreat to Liaodong, it was systematically destroyed by the Manchus. Not only was the Forbidden City completely burned, but half of the people in the city were forcibly moved outside the pass. People along the way

Displaced and countless dead, in order to revive the Northern Capital, it is even more necessary for the Dashun Army to completely destroy the remaining Qing Dynasty and immigrate to the border areas. Only then can we think about it.

So at this stage, the Dashun court can only stay in Kaifeng. At least Kaifeng is a better choice than Nanjing, and Kaifeng has not experienced the kind of major floods in history in the late Ming Dynasty. The situation is still good, except for the hanging

River flooding is a major concern.

Li Laiheng looked at the scene by the Wuding River and had secretly made up his mind to completely control the three major rivers of Huang, Huai and Hai in the future.

He said categorically:

"Even if our government spends decades, or even a hundred years, we must complete the major project of eradicating the three rivers, so that the floods in the Yellow River, Huaihe River, and Haihe River will become serious.

If we want to radically control the Yellow River, we must first plant trees extensively in the upper reaches of northern Shaanxi to stabilize water and soil. In the future, Guanzhong will be revitalized, and northern Shaanxi will become a fortress south of the Yangtze River. Only by dredging water conservancy and building canals to divert water can we have a foundation."

There are two sand mounds at the foot of the mountain, and rows of jujube trees greedily suck the sunshine. The river beach is already covered with wild grass, kudzu and Baicao, as well as three kinds of small flowers: white, yellow and blue.

Most of the nearby riverbeds have dried up, and the river surface near the shore is covered with thin pieces of soil that have been cracked by the sun. Cars and horses galloping over them will immediately break into pieces when they step on them, making a clicking sound.

The river bed in the center of the river is exposed, not covered with soil, revealing a light blue stone bed. Only the water of Wuding River is very clear, and the bottom is covered with a layer of yellow mud. Occasionally, there are one or two water polyps on the water surface, and the wind stirs up the fine water.

The fine water lines shimmered like broken silver, singing softly on the winding cobblestones of the river, even a little naughty.

Li Guo smiled and said: "Very good. From now on, all these things will be done by Laiheng. We follow Taizu to pacify the world, but we are just conquering the world right away. In the future, we will also dismount to rule the world. We will eradicate the floods in the three rivers and revive Guanzhong and northern Shaanxi."

...Very good, very good, this is all very good. Laiheng, you will have to do these things in the future!"
