Chapter 0793 Wishes take the bait, Xuanzang drinks
Outside Chang'an City, there is a temple known as Xiaoling Mountain: Jinshan Temple!
On this day, at the foot of Jinshan Temple, a five or six-year-old child was walking by the river, holding a lotus in his hand. On his immature face, there was a trace of melancholy that did not suit his age.
Not long after the little monk left, he heard a burst of laughter: "Haha, after fishing for so long, I finally caught a fish!"
Following the sound, I saw a man in his twenties holding a fishing rod under a willow tree by the river, laughing loudly as he looked at the big fish biting the hook.
Looking at the constantly swinging carp, a trace of pity flashed in the little monk's eyes. After taking a deep breath, he walked towards the area where the young man was.
Soon, the young monk came to the young man, clasped his hands and said: "Amitabha, donor, you see how pitiful this fish is, why not let him go. As the saying goes, saving one life is better than building a seven-level pagoda, and the same is true for fish."
Life, the benefactor let it go today, and the little fish will definitely come back to repay the favor one day!"
Hearing this, the young man turned his head and glanced at the little monk, with a playful smile on his handsome face. He put away the fishing rod, stretched out his hand to catch the fish in his hand, looked down at the little monk and said: "Little monk,
I've been fishing here for six years, and this is the first fish I've caught, but you asked me to let it go, isn't that a joke?"
As soon as he said these words, the young monk raised his head and glanced at the young man, a trace of surprise flashed in his eyes.
I really didn’t expect that someone could persist in fishing here for six years. The most important thing is that the only fish caught in these six years was caught by me.
But soon, the compassion in the young monk's eyes became more intense, and he clasped his hands together and said: "Amitabha, donor, since you have caught the fish, your inner demons for the past six years have been relieved.
Why not let this innocent fish go."
"It should be noted that the donor has been fishing for nothing for six years. This fish took the bait, which can be said to please the stone donor. As the saying goes, money cannot buy my happiness. Since the donor is already happy, why not release this innocent and meritorious fish,
This move can be said to be of immeasurable merit!”
After listening to the young monk's words, the smile in the young man's eyes became even greater. He stepped forward in front of the young monk, raised the fish in his hand, and slowly pulled out the fishhook with his other hand.
I saw that the fishhook was not a curved hook, but a vertical lead weight. It was surprisingly a straight hook!
After doing all this, the young man looked at the little monk and said: "Little monk, in ancient times Jiang Ziya used a straight hook for fishing. Today I also use a straight hook to catch fish. Do you know the meaning?"
As soon as these words came out, the young monk's eyes flashed with confusion, and he looked at the young man in confusion and said: "I don't know, young monk, please give me some advice!"
Hearing this, the young man laughed loudly, raised the red-tailed carp, and said, "This is called Jiang Ziya fishing. Those who wish to take the bait take the bait. Since this fish is willing to take the bait, it can be seen that it has already made up its mind to get into my belly."
"Since it is determined to get into my belly, it is natural for me to eat it. It can even be regarded as granting its wish. If you let me let it go, won't you make it regret it for the rest of its life!"
Having said this, the young man seemed to have thought of something. He looked at the little monk and said: "Little monk, I heard that cabbage and tofu are eaten every day in the temple. I'm afraid you haven't eaten meat at this age. Today you and I are in love."
Meeting you can be considered a predestined relationship, how about I treat you to grilled fish?"
As soon as these words came out, the little monk who was still deep in thought suddenly came to his senses. He hurriedly took a few steps back, shook his little head even more like a rattle, and kept chanting: "Sins and sins, monks will never touch them."
It’s so fishy, the donor was joking.”
After saying that, the little monk took another look at the fish in the young man's hand, a trace of helplessness flashed in his eyes, turned around and was about to leave.
Since he couldn't persuade him, there was nothing he could do. Instead of watching the fish being killed, it was better to leave and keep out of sight.
Seeing this, the smile on the young man's face became even bigger and he said, "Little monk, stay!"
Hearing this, the young monk stopped for a moment, turned his head and glanced at the young man, clasped his hands together and said politely: "Donor, what else can you do?"
In response, the young man took a valuable white jade gourd inlaid with precious stones from his waist and shook it, and he could hear the sound of water rippling in it.
After doing all this, the young man threw the white jade gourd to the young monk and said: "Little monk, if you drink the wine in this gourd, I will let the fish go!"
Upon hearing this, a look of confusion suddenly flashed across the young monk's face.
For a monk, drinking is one of the precepts. If he drinks, he will break the precept. But if he doesn't drink, the young man in front of him will definitely kill the innocent little fish.
Seeing the hesitation in the little monk's eyes, the young man's eyes flashed and he said: "Little monk, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva of Buddhism once said, If I don't go to hell, who will go to hell? Do you know the true meaning of this!"
"You told me before that saving one life is better than building a seven-level pagoda. You drink this wine and I release this fish. This is a cycle of cause and effect. If you don't drink it, you are unwilling to die for the little fish.
Save, what’s the point of practicing Buddhism!”
As soon as these words came out, the struggle on the young monk's face disappeared, and he seemed to have made up his mind. He raised his head and looked at Zhu Tianpeng and said: "Donor, please release the fish, and the young monk will drink up the wine in the white jade gourd!"
"
After saying that, the young monk seemed to have thought of something, and said again: "Monks do not lie, and the young monk will never deceive the donor!"
Hearing this, the young man nodded thoughtfully, then threw the fish into the river, sat casually on a stone pier, and said: "Little monk, I let the fish go, it's your turn!"
"
Hearing this, a trace of struggle flashed in the young monk's eyes, but it was quickly suppressed, and he murmured: "Don't blame the Buddha, don't blame the Bodhisattva. The young monk Xuanzang broke the precepts to save the fish's life. Wait."
After returning home, the young monk must have shut himself up and recited sutras for a hundred days..."
After a long time, the young monk who called himself Xuanzang stopped talking. He seemed to have made up his mind and reached out to open the white jade gourd. Suddenly, a strong smell of alcohol gushes out from it.
The monk's eyes were filled with tears.
Holding back the tears in his eyes, the young monk glanced at the young man, closed his eyes, raised his head, raised the white jade gourd, and started drinking.
However, the little monk did not notice that among the wine he drank, there was a gold bead the size of a baby's little finger. It entered his body along the wine, and then entered at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Within the sea of his consciousness, the three phantoms of Buddha did not hinder him in the slightest.
