Chapter eight hundred and sixty-four Buddhism and Confucianism join forces
Mountains in South Vietnam, Daleiyin Temple.
The Buddha looked at Maitreya, Ksitigarbha and Avalokitesvara, whose great path was not visible, with a gloomy expression on his face.
The three of them were in the third realm of heaven and human beings, but accidentally fell to the first realm of heaven and human beings.
Although it is not impossible for these three people to regain their original cultivation, how difficult is it to re-condensate the seeds of the Great Dao?
It is unknown how long it will take to carefully cultivate the re-condensed seeds of the avenue until they bloom and bear fruit.
At least in the Buddha's view, it is difficult to expect these three people to recover to the third level of heaven and human cultivation during this period of great conflict, even if the second level is suspended.
At best, the three of them can only appear as the peak of the first realm of heavenly beings, and they are not of much use in the overall situation.
Buddhism does not lack the first realm of gods and humans, but what it lacks is the third realm of gods and humans who can control the situation.
Especially after the three realms fell, Buddhism fell into an embarrassing situation where the third realm of Wutianren was available.
Something must not happen. What the Taoist and Confucian families sent was the third realm of heaven and humans, and the huge Buddhist sect could only ask the Supreme Buddha himself to take action.
Regardless of his identity, the Buddha took action personally every time. Where is the face of Buddhism?
Considering the face, sending the gods to the second realm to fight, but they can't compete with the Taoist Confucianists. How can the interests of the Buddhist sect be guaranteed?
The two are in a dilemma. If things go on like this, how can Buddhism compete with Taoism and Confucianism for destiny?
For the two culprits who caused this result, Buddha's hatred was simply higher than the sky and deeper than the sea.
After Emperor Qin's death, Buddha could not hate a dead person no matter how much he hated him, so he could only point all his fingers at the other culprit, the Master of Tongtian Sword.
A gloomy look flashed across the Buddha's face, and he said in a deep voice: "The three of you will go back and take care of yourself. If you need anything, just ask your disciples to do it. Jin Chanzi stays here. I have something to ask you."
."
Maitreya and the other three people put their hands together and bowed: "In compliance with the World Honored One's decree, we will leave."
After the three people left, Xuantang touched his head to the ground and bowed: "I wonder what the Lord's instructions are?"
The Buddha said in an indifferent tone: "I would like to ask you, how strong is the secular dynasty established by the reincarnation of Emperor Xin in the east? If we use the power of South Vietnam, can we destroy it?"
Xuantang respectfully replied: "Reporting to the World Honored One, according to inquiries from my disciples, I learned that the reincarnation of Emperor Xin is named Xiang Ji. He is an aristocrat of the old Chu and has a very high prestige in Chu."
"This man rebuilt the Chu State four months ago and gained the support of a large number of old Chu people and the support of the old Chu nobles. His strength is no less than that of South Vietnam. If the Chu State had not been destroyed by Qin for the second time, its strength would have been
Even more so than South Vietnam."
"In the previous battle against Qin, the 150,000 Nanyue army was unprepared and was ambushed by the temporary ally of the Western Qin. As a result, the entire army was annihilated and suffered heavy losses in strength."
"South Vietnam is located mostly in mountains and forests, and its population is far less than that of the Central Plains. If it were not for the three provinces of Nanyun that were previously occupied, the losses in the battle against Qin alone would be enough to bring South Vietnam to its knees."
"Now that the former Qin general Li Xin has surrendered to Western Qin, Chen Bing is eyeing the junction of Nanyun and Shu. South Vietnam has to arrange a large army to defend the city to prevent the other side from leading its army southward."
"Besides, if we use the strength of South Vietnam to gather at most a hundred thousand war-ready troops, if we go to conquer Chu, the outcome is really unpredictable."
Buddha said indifferently: "How about adding one hundred thousand new Buddhist disciples?"
Xuantang was shocked and stood there blankly, with a look of disbelief in his eyes.
The 100,000 newly recruited Buddhist disciples are all carefully selected people with good fortune. They are specially used to glorify the Buddhist heritage and increase and consolidate the Buddhist destiny.
Unexpectedly, the Buddha's idea of revenge against the Master of Tongtian Sword would be so determined that even the one hundred thousand newly recruited Buddhist disciples would be willing to give up.
"Isn't it enough?"
The Buddha's indifferent voice fell again, and Xuantang's forehead showed faint sweat, and he bowed: "Reporting to the World Honored One, the newly recruited one hundred thousand Buddhist disciples are not in the military and have not been trained. They are no different from pigs and sheep on the battlefield and cannot be changed.
War situation."
"And what about the Luohan Hall monks you carefully trained?"
Xuantang felt bitter when he heard this. He said that he was given full authority to take charge of worldly affairs, but he often gave random orders.
The Buddha had made up his mind to go to Chu to take revenge on the master of the Tongtian Sword. Xuantang was powerless to dissuade him. Just as he was about to agree, he suddenly sensed a breath of awe-inspiring righteousness and immediately swallowed the words that were about to come to his lips.
Then a long voice came from afar: "Confucian disciple Zhong You, on the orders of my master the Confucian sage, came here to pay homage to the Buddha."
The indifference on Buddha's face suddenly diminished a bit, and his attention no longer stayed on Xuantang. A light of Buddha's light popped up and went straight towards Haoran Zhengqi.
In an instant, Zhong You, who was wrapped in the light of the Buddha and was full of awe-inspiring righteousness, returned to the Main Hall.
The Buddha asked calmly: "Why did the Confucian sage send you here?"
Zhong You bowed and saluted the Buddha and said, "Reporting to the Buddha, my master, the Confucian Sage Sect, is here to discuss with the Buddha the alliance between Buddhism and Confucianism."
Buddha's expression remained unchanged and he asked: "Alliance? What kind of alliance method?"
Zhong You said with a smile on his face: "Of course the Buddhist and Confucian schools unite to help each other and deal with the Taoist sect together."
"Buddha should know that the Taoist sect is the strongest among the three religions. Even if the Taoist sect is divided into two, and Kunlun Taoist Palace and Biyou Palace fight independently, their strength will not be worse than that of Buddhism and Confucianism. Even the Taoist sect is faintly stronger than Buddhism and Confucianism.
."
"My teacher, the Confucian Sage, said that if Buddhism and Confucianism do not unite, the destiny of heaven will undoubtedly fall into the hands of Taoism. If you want to compete for the destiny of destiny, only if Buddhism and Confucianism unite will you have a chance."
The Buddha couldn't deny it and asked: "Xuantang, what do you think?"
Xuantang bowed and said, "Reporting to the World Honored One, I would like to ask this Confucian sage a few questions, and I hope the World Honored One will allow me to do so."
The Buddha said calmly: "You shouldn't ask me about this. You should ask the Confucian sage whether he is willing to answer your question."
Zhong Yu said quickly: "Buddha Xuantang, just ask, I will tell you everything you know, and I will tell you everything."
Xuantang smiled and said: "I would like to ask, what does Confucianism mean by helping each other?"
"Does it mean to provide support at critical moments, or to unify and complete larger operations in normal times? Or does it mean to just shout a few words from the side from beginning to end?"
Zhong You thought for a while and replied: "From my understanding of the words of my master, the Confucian sage, it should be the second type, which is relatively important, and should be completed through unified cooperation."
After Xuantang got the answer, he immediately paid homage to the Buddha and said, "Return to the Lord, we will benefit from cooperation. My disciples agree to join forces with the Confucians to conquer Chu."
Zhong Yu was stunned when he heard this. When did he say that he would go to Chu State?
The Buddha in the main hall immediately nodded and said: "That's very good. Please reply to the Confucian sage. Buddhism is willing to enter into an alliance with Confucianism."
"After the alliance is concluded, the Confucianists are requested to fully cooperate with the Buddhists in the expedition to Chu."
