Chapter 110 Minesweeper

Soon, all the rollers in the village were collected together.

Major Gavrilov looked at their clumsiness and couldn't help but yell: "You idiots, who asked you to carry it into the car!"

It turned out that the soldiers responsible for doing this disassembled the rollers and loaded them one by one into the trunks of the cars and then transported them over. A total of five cars were loaded, with two to three in each car, totaling thirteen.

"Comrade Major!" the staff officer said with a confused look on his face: "If we don't put it on the truck...how can we transport it?"

Major Gavrilov couldn't help but shook his head.

Then he ordered the engineers to move it down, and then ordered the engineers to fix the roller and the tie rod to the front of the tank.

Seeing this staff officer seemed to understand something. He could have tied the roller to the back of the car and dragged it over.

In the past, it would have been okay for the staff to lift the roller up and down like this, but at this time, it was a tense moment of victory, and the staff's behavior undoubtedly slowed down the progress of the entire army.

"If you can stand up to half a Shulka!" Major Gavrilov said: "Then the Germans will have nothing to worry about!"

Having said that, Major Gavrilov ignored the embarrassed staff officers and directed the engineers to carry out modifications.

Modification is actually very easy.

First of all, the roller itself has a tie rod, and the roller is used to roll and grind rice. It is used frequently, so the rolling performance is quite good.

Secondly, mechanized troops generally have engineers, who are equipped with basic maintenance tools. Their task is to perform necessary repairs once a tank breaks down on the road.

The modifications were naturally done by these engineers. They welded a few iron rods to the front end of the tank, and then tied the roller's tie rods to the iron rods, and that was it.

Six vehicles were modified in the first batch. They were divided into two batches of three vehicles each. The first batch went in front and the second batch followed behind. There was a gap of a roller between the tanks and then filled the entire road.

Two more modified vehicles followed, ready for replacement.

After everything was ready, Major Gavrilov gave the order and set off.

The modified tank soon became a beautiful sight. Along the way, the soldiers looked at this strange thing with doubtful eyes, guessing what it was used for.

Shurka and others soon ignored them and slowly moved forward behind the modified tank. Soon they arrived at the front line of the reconnaissance force.

The reconnaissance troops were resting, their eyes full of exhaustion, dissatisfaction, and fear.

Shulka can understand their feelings. If this battle is ranked according to the degree of danger and difficulty, it is undoubtedly the reconnaissance force... They who are at the forefront may be ambushed by the enemy at any time, and they have a heavy responsibility. Without reconnaissance

If you encounter an enemy ambush, you will be held accountable.

That's all. The worst thing was encountering the enemy's mines. The burden on their shoulders was already heavy enough, and a huge mountain was added to their shoulders.

So far, these reconnaissance troops feel a little numb. Groups of them sit on the roadside and look at the tanks and cars passing in front of them with helpless eyes. They don't even notice that those tanks have rollers installed in front of them.

But we can't blame them, because the roller is indeed not so conspicuous after being rolled by the mud and water on the road.

"Comrade Major!" A second lieutenant hurriedly ran to Major Gavrilov and reported: "There is a minefield ahead, and we haven't..."

"I know!" Major Gavrilov interrupted the ensign: "Leave it to us!"

The second lieutenant looked puzzled, and then his eyes widened when he looked forward and saw the roller in front of the tank.

Then the fun begins:

With a "boom", a landmine was detonated.

It was an "S" type jumping mine. After it was activated, the mine body jumped out and exploded, shooting steel balls in all directions as usual... But these steel balls were obviously useless, because they all hit the armor of the tank.

Up, there was a "clang" sound.

Soon, the tank crews fell in love with this jumping mine because the sound produced by the steel balls was so pleasant that some even described it as "beautiful music."

Of course, not all tank crews think so. Some people associate it with the feeling of bullets and shells hitting armor, and they become nervous instantly.

"Boom" another landmine was detonated.

This mine should be a wooden shell mine. The sound when it explodes is relatively dull. After all, it has a wooden shell. Soviet soldiers are very familiar with its sound.

There should have been a pile of wood chips flying upward, but that was not the case at this time, because the wood chips were all crushed under the roller.

These wood chips obviously can't cause any damage to the stone roller. Perhaps... the explosive will leave a small crater on the roller when it explodes.

"Boom" was another explosion.

This time it was probably a landmine dropped by the German army, and the explosion was crisper and louder.

Of course, there was still no movement from the roller... The mine's explosive charge is very small, and its purpose is to injure the person who steps on it but not to die.

The reason is simple: a wounded man on the battlefield is much more troublesome than a dead man.

At this time, the originally listless scouts stood up one after another, stretching their necks to look this way.

Then, when they understood what was happening ahead, some were happy, some were surprised, and some were angry.

It is easy to understand the happiness and surprise, but the anger is because... Why should the reconnaissance troops pay such a high price for a problem that can be solved so easily?!

Shulka could only say sorry to these people. He had just thought of this method.

How about... let's just pretend that we don't think of anything and don't know anything, and you continue to clear mines?

Major Gavrilov danced happily. He walked forward and shouted to Shulka: "See, Shulka, it's very useful. We don't need to worry about those mines anymore!"

"Major!" Shulka said: "We haven't hit an anti-tank mine yet!"

Before he finished speaking, there was a loud "boom", and a roller walking in the back row was jumped more than one meter high, and then fell back heavily.

The charge of anti-tank mines is different from that of anti-infantry mines. Its goal is to blow up tanks or cars.

Shulka and others gathered around to take a look, and found that the roller had been blasted to create a large gap at the mouth of the bowl, and there were also cracks. It was feared that if it was rolled a few more times, it would break into several pieces.

"This also shows that it is useful!" Major Gavrilov said: "Otherwise, it would be the tank that would be blown over now!"

As he spoke, Major Gavrilov waved back, and soon another modified tank followed.

"The Germans don't have that many anti-tank mines!" Major Gavrilov said: "Besides, we can replenish the rollers when we pass through the villages!"
