Chapter 802 Spy

The reason why Colonel Bergmann became the staff officer of the 14th Panzer Corps was not for nothing. He did not act rashly after returning to the army, although it could be said that it would be effortless for him and Paulus to take down several Gestapo with their combined efforts.

It is not unreasonable for Colonel Bergmann to do this, because although the Gestapo has a small number, they are secret police trusted by the head of state. It can even be said that they are the minions of the head of state who control the army and monitor the army. This is consistent with the Soviet Union's Ministry of Internal Affairs and politics. The functions of the departments are somewhat similar, so they have extraordinary command authority. Sometimes a sergeant can easily mobilize a company of troops.

But Colonel Bergmann knew that the person responsible for monitoring Paulus was a colonel, Colonel Cooser.

Moreover, this Colonel Keoser was personally appointed by the head of state, and may even have orders from the head of state on him.

In this case, if Colonel Bergmann led a team of people to arrest someone, it is very likely that instead of arresting the person, he would be arrested by Keoser... Because even if Colonel Bergmann's subordinates are loyal to him, But when I saw the head of state's order, I still didn't dare to take action.

The result of the soldiers not daring to take action was likely to be death for Colonel Bergmann and Paulus.

So Colonel Bergman had a little idea. Before he took action, he gathered the guard platoon and said to them: "You know what? The Russians have learned our methods. I mean, when they take prisoners, they will kill them." Persuade him to surrender and then put him back as a spy!"

"Yes, I heard about it!" Jonas, the guard platoon leader, replied: "Our people also captured a few spies who were passing information to the Russians at that time!"

"Now we have encountered a difficult matter..." Bergman hesitated.

"Colonel!" Platoon leader Jonas looked to the side and said, "You mean, there is a spy among us?"

"No, Jonas!" Bergman replied: "There are spies, but not among us!"

Jonas let out a sigh of relief, "Oh," and then asked, "Who is that?"

"Colonel Coother!" Bergmann replied.

The people in the guard platoon were confused because they didn't know who Colonel Kooser was.

"Listen to me..." Bergman explained: "I just met the marshal. The marshal felt the danger. He told me that someone was trying to harm him, but he couldn't do anything because Colonel Keoser was the one who protected him. He was not sure how many of the guards around him had been bribed by Colonel Kooser! The marshal told me that Colonel Kooser had been missing for half a day and came back with injuries. His answer was that he fought with two enemies and Killed them, the injuries were caused at that time..."

The guards were stunned when they heard this. They didn't expect that Russian spies had already infiltrated Marshal Paulus!

How awesome is this?!

"That's an excuse!" Lieutenant Jonas said: "The Russians put him back and lurked around the marshal!"

"Obviously yes!" Colonel Bergmann replied smoothly: "The marshal found out that they were plotting an assassination, but he was not sure who it was, so he needed us. Do you understand?"

"Understood!" the guards responded in unison. This was a good opportunity to show off in front of the marshal, so they all geared up.

After this point of view was preconceived among the guards, Colonel Bergmann said: "There is another reason why the marshal and I are in trouble...Colonel Cooser is a Gestapo, and he even has orders from the Führer!"

The guards couldn't help but be stunned, but they still didn't think much about it:

"I think we need to act quickly, Colonel! Otherwise the marshal will be in danger at any time!"

"Yes, if he has the order from the head of state! No one can guarantee what he will do!"

"So, we have to move quickly, understand?" Colonel Bergman nodded with satisfaction: "Use the fastest speed to control everyone cleanly! In order to ensure the safety of the marshal, anyone who resists will be killed...

"

As he spoke, Colonel Bergmann made a closing gesture.

"Yes, Colonel!" Second Lieutenant Jonas replied: "Don't worry, we will complete the task brilliantly and rescue the Marshal!"

"Very good!" Colonel Bergmann said, then waved his hand and led the guard platoon towards the headquarters.

The guard platoon was divided into three teams, with about ten people in each team approaching the headquarters in three directions.

Because they were German soldiers, there was no need to be sneaky at all. One team pretended to be wounded and supported each other as they retreated from the front line, just passing by the headquarters. The other team pretended to be a troop transporting supplies and hurriedly walked out carrying ammunition.

The rear group was sent forward, and another group followed Colonel Bergmann and walked from the front toward the headquarters.

"Colonel!" The one who stopped Bergman was the same major last time. While chewing the beef in his mouth, he raised the can towards Bergman and asked, "Wouldn't you like some?"

Colonel Bergmann's anger flashed away. These Gestapo could enjoy themselves even in Stalingrad where supplies were scarce. Bergmann had reason to believe that they would soon fly out of the encirclement by plane after their mission was completed.

, leaving those who fought and died on the front lines to be captured by the enemy.

Colonel Bergmann's thoughts were also those of the soldiers in the guard platoon, so they all looked angrily.

This seemed to be the purpose of the major. He laughed "hehe" and asked: "So, colonel, what's going on here this time? 'Uh-huh', you brought a few more guards with you than last time!"

"Yes!" Bergman replied.

"Can you tell me why?"

"Of course!" Colonel Bergmann waved to the major, and when the major approached, he replied: "We are here to kill you!"

At first, the major thought Colonel Bergmann was joking. Just when he was about to laugh, he found that he was surrounded by people at some point. He immediately felt something was wrong and immediately reached for his gun...

But it was too late. Colonel Bergmann had already put his pistol on his head and asked: "Why don't you shoot one?"

Then without waiting for the major to answer, he shot the major general to death with a "bang".

The surrounding guards took action almost at the same time. Several Gestapo wanted to resist, but they were accustomed to being domineering, no match for the experienced guards. A few gun butts and a few gunshots made them all comply.

Colonel Keoser heard the commotion outside and walked out of the headquarters. Seeing this situation, he couldn't help but asked: "What's going on..."

But before he could finish speaking, Lieutenant Jonas hit him in the stomach with the butt of his rifle, and put his rifle to his head when Colonel Keother hunched over like a shrimp.

"You can't do this..." Colonel Keoser said with difficulty: "I have an order from the head of state..."

But before he finished speaking, he heard a gunshot, fired by Colonel Bergmann. (To be continued)
