Danbo lay on the ground, holding on to the rotting leaves in the forest with his fingers, burying his head in the soil, enduring the strong whirlwind of the rotors hanging above the treetops.
His heart was beating wildly at the moment, causing chest tightness and black vision. His lungs were eager to breathe, but his rationality forced him to pretend he was dead, because there were really several corpses lying in front of and behind him.
I endured it for who knows how long, it seemed like a long life.
When he felt the whirlwind above his head leave, Danbo climbed up from the fallen leaves. Fear drove him to tears, making his muscles tremble and he couldn't control himself.
The camp in the woods was destroyed, and dozens of consecutive rockets blew up the wooden houses. The thatch on the roofs was scattered in all directions. Some were lit, and some were charred and smoking.
There was a series of large craters in the center of the camp, and the explosion fragments swept across a range of more than ten meters. Someone escaped from the house and was hit by the grenade. The power of the explosion destroyed the house.
The attack came too suddenly, and the entire camp was defenseless. When the roar of the rotors was heard, the enemy had already appeared overhead. Two helicopters were equipped with infrared headlights, which openly illuminated the entire camp, bullying the camp because there were no night vision devices.
In addition to the infrared headlights, four 90mm rocket launch nests were installed on both sides of the helicopter. As soon as they appeared, they washed the ground with rockets.
These nearly a hundred rockets alone caused a devastating disaster to the camp. Many people were killed inexplicably. The buildings in the camp were even blown up and collapsed.
After emptying the rockets, two helicopters circled the camp. One used ropes to lower the soldiers, and the other used machine guns to shoot the ground. With night vision goggles, any movement on the ground would be suppressed.
Imagine the panic at that time. People in the camp were running around in confusion. They didn't know who attacked them and just ran around. No one had the morale to resist, let alone what to use to resist.
But in front of the night vision device, the more you run, the more obvious you are, and the more likely you are to be killed.
The two helicopters alternately provided cover. One helicopter finished releasing the soldiers, and the other continued to release them. The hatches on both sides of the helicopter were opened, and twenty special forces members could get out in less than a minute.
The next situation was even worse. The enemy who landed on the ground had extremely strong firepower. They formed two diagonal teams for cross-fire. When they encountered the camp houses, they first threw grenades or used rocket launchers.
When the attack occurred, Danbo was fetching water outside the camp. After the gunfire rang out, he threw away the aluminum bucket and ran towards the woods with his other companions.
But the special operations team was attacking the camp, and the door machine guns of the two helicopters were clearing the perimeter. Danbo was running around in the forest, with the hovering helicopter flying over his head, and hot bullet casings falling on his face.
The warhead was like a scorching wind, and all the targets hit by it fell to the ground and died.
Danbo was overwhelmed by fear and lay on the ground shivering. His mind was completely blank, and his heart was full of regret - this must have been revenge for the attack on the outpost a few days ago. If he had known this, he should have sneaked away.
In less than ten minutes, the special forces destroyed the camp hidden in the forest. They deliberately set fire to the warehouse and refining room with incendiary bombs, and the raging fire destroyed the most important parts of the camp.
At the end of the mission, the sling was lowered from the helicopter again. Twenty special forces members hung themselves on the rings of the sling with hooks. The aircraft body was lifted up like lifting cargo, and the special operations members quickly left with the helicopter.
Ten minutes later, a light Y-5 flew over. It also turned on its infrared headlights and took photos from a distance of more than a thousand meters for effect evaluation. After taking the photos, it left again.
It was only now that Danbo had the courage to get up from the ground. But as soon as he moved, he found that his right leg was weak. When he reached out and touched it, he realized that he had been shot. He gritted his teeth and bandaged the wound, but he still ran towards the destroyed camp, trying to find
Something valuable.
There were about one hundred and fifty people in the camp, and most of them fell to the ground. The rest fled into the woods. Danbo came back limping and hopping. He knew that he had to hurry up, otherwise even if there were good things, they would be gone.
Can't reach him.
After picking up a gun from the corpse and carrying two grenades, Danbo first ran to the refining room. This place was usually guarded by the general's cronies, and outsiders were not allowed to even approach.
Now all the cronies were killed, and their tattered corpses were lying on the ground. Their sophisticated equipment was of no use at all, and they were attacked by concentrated fire.
But the refining room was set on fire, and even the warehouse was not saved. The burning flames emitted endless heat, and there was a peculiar smell in the air, forcing people to stay away.
Tamba turned towards the general's house.
He is said to be a 'general', but he is actually a bandit leader. He has several strongholds in the mountains of northern Myanmar and hundreds of men, controlling more than a dozen villages to cultivate tobacco fields.
Tanbo was a miscellaneous soldier who was captured from a nearby village. He usually worked very hard in the camp and could not make much money. Awed by the general's usual violence, he walked outside the general's house and did not dare to go in. He waited and watched for a while.
There were not many good houses built in the mountains and forests, just two-story stilted buildings. The general's guards lived below, and the general's bedroom was upstairs.
But the attackers who came by helicopter apparently knew the camp well, and multiple rockets hit the house, destroying one side of it.
Thinking that there must be a large amount of cash in the house, Danbo bravely walked in. The house looked ordinary from the outside, but it was luxuriously decorated inside.
The camp’s diesel generator was out of service, and the room was completely dark. But with the help of the fires burning around the camp, we could still roughly see the interior furnishings.
On the first floor there is a TV, a refrigerator, a video recorder, a radio station in the corner, and a wooden coffee table in the middle. This is the general's living room, where he entertains distinguished guests.
The furnishings here were all bought from outside with great pains. Danbo still remembers the process of carrying that refrigerator into the camp. Two pack horses were exhausted on the way, and he almost died of exhaustion.
Two walls on the first floor were blown down, and several of the general's guards fell under the coffee table. They must have been playing cards when a rocket fired in, and blood soaked the cards on the floor.
Most of the downstairs collapsed, and the second floor was not saved. Tanbo climbed up with a gun and heard groans. The usually domineering general fell on the carpet, and the collapsed wooden beam pressed his back.
In the darkness, when I heard someone coming up, the general with a sinister face raised his head. Half of his face was covered in blood, and he wanted to speak but couldn't.
To embolden him, Danbo held his gun and shouted: "The camp is over, you have offended someone you shouldn't have offended. Where is your safe? Hand over the money quickly."
The general did not respond, only breathing heavily.
Danbo hit him in the face with the butt of his rifle and demanded money. But the guy was beaten until his blood and flesh were scattered all over the place and he did not speak. After a long time, Danbo saw clearly that a piece of shrapnel had cut open the general's cheek and smashed his tongue.
.
"A waste of time." Danbo cursed bitterly, and shot the general's head in anger. He searched everywhere again, but only found a watch that was still valuable.
The flames in the camp grew bigger and bigger, and chaotic voices gradually sounded around, and other survivors came back. Danbo was panicking, feeling that he could not stay for long, so he could only limp away again, disappearing into the darkness outside the camp.
