023 The unscrupulous reporter and the blame

Elsewhere in the building, Irving and McClain were heading towards the 46th floor. The elevator shaft was out of service, so they had to climb the stairs, and they had to avoid cameras, which made their speed much slower.

McClane was going to save his wife, and of course Irving accompanied him there. Not to mention that the two were now good brothers and had a friendship that saved each other's lives. Even if this was put aside, Irving's identity as a police officer could not be ignored.

What's more, Owen was determined to hang out with the protagonist. He had no choice but to leave him for a short while because he was so impressed. All kinds of dangers arose, and he almost lost his life several times.

As for the danger McLean mentioned, it does not exist. Irving alone can only be called a danger, but two people can only be called an adventure.

Of course, there is another less important reason. Hans's words "I don't want to live, kill him" made Owen very unhappy, so Owen was willing to do anything that could cause trouble for that guy.

Just as the two were discussing how to save people next, the walkie-talkie on McClain suddenly rang. This walkie-talkie had been snatched from the robbers before and had helped them avoid many crises.

"Fantastic Two, are you there?" Hans was on the other end of the intercom, sounding very relaxed.

McClain didn't expect that Hans would actually come to him, but this guy loves to show off. He picked up the walkie-talkie and said, "I'm here, Hans. What do you want to see me for? You sound like you're in a good mood."

"Yes, I am indeed in a good mood. Can you guess why, Mr. Fantastic Two, or should I call you Officer John McClane?"

McClain's face suddenly turned ugly, and his cynical smile disappeared. Before he could reply, Hans on the other end of the intercom continued: "Officer McClain from New York, am I right? Oh no,

It should be the police chief.

Isn’t it strange how I know your identity? Not only that, I also know that your wife is Miss Holly. Unfortunately, one of my hostages here is also named Holly. Is there any relationship between them?

?

Oh, by the way, she is standing next to me now, would you like to say a few words to her..."

McClain's expression became uglier and uglier. When he heard Holly, he finally collapsed. Then he heard Holly's voice coming from the intercom: "I'm sorry, John."

"Baby, did they give you a hard time?"

"not yet."

McClain wanted to say something else, but the voice on the other end of the intercom had changed to Hans's voice, "She's right, it's temporary. Officer McClain, what do you think? Isn't it very kind to hear your wife's voice?"

"What do you want?" McClain suddenly turned into a deflated ball.

"It's very simple. I want you to appear in front of me within half an hour, otherwise..."

While McClane was listening, Owen suddenly snatched the walkie-talkie over, pressed the call button, took out his pistol and fired a gun next to him, then turned off the walkie-talkie.

On the other end, Hans, who was originally full of confidence, was about to enjoy McClane's surrender after threatening him, but suddenly heard an inexplicable gunshot, and then there was no sound again.

No matter what Hans said, there was deathly silence over there. But his men didn't report that they had been killed, so things were a bit strange.

"what you do?"

McClain was anxious to come up and grab the walkie-talkie, but Owen pushed him away, "You don't really want to go to the door and kill someone, do you?"

He had completely remembered it now. He must have been a reporter. In the movie, he was the one who found out McClain's identity and then revealed it through a TV program, almost killing McClain.

"Then what else can we do?" McClain seemed to have been drained of all his strength in an instant, and the vile energy he had before speaking was gone.

"I have a way. Just listen to me. Although I may not be able to rescue all the hostages, I can definitely rescue your wife."

Owen was lying nonsense, he just didn't want McClane to die and lie to him, but when he said this, he really thought of a way.

"What can I do?" McClain nervously grabbed Owen's shoulders.

When Irving was about to say something, their walkie-talkie rang again, but this time it was not Hans, but the voice of a strange man: "Officer Irving, please reply when you receive it."

Outside the news truck, Jack Bauer led a team of policemen and violently opened the back door of the news truck, and then dragged Erwin out regardless of whether it was live or not.

"What are you doing? What are you doing? I'm a reporter, why do you arrest me?"

Erwin struggled violently, but he was not afraid at all. Instead, he roared fiercely. Are you kidding? He is a reporter, the uncrowned king of the United States, how could he be frightened by a few small policemen?

Jack Bauer took a step forward, took out his ID and waved it in front of Erwin's eyes, "CTU, you are suspected of assisting terrorists and endangering national security. You are now under arrest."

"Are you kidding me? Why do you say that I colluded with terrorists? This is slander. People have the right to know and you can't arrest me."

But Father George suddenly jumped out, punched Erwin in the stomach, and hit him so hard that he was bent into a crotch. Then he pointed at the guy lying on the ground and said angrily: "You bastard, you

Tell the terrorists the information about McClain and Irving. Do you want to kill them? You bastard!"

Javier also cursed at the side: "It must be you. I said how could our attack plan be known to the other party? It must be you, bastard. You killed two entire SWAT teams." Before he finished speaking,

He gave Erwin a kick as if to relieve his hatred.

Erwin became anxious when he heard that Javier had wrongly accused him of colluding with terrorists and put the blame for his previous annihilation on his head. But when he was about to say something, he was punched by Javier again and covered his head again.

He squatted on his stomach and coughed, inhaling.

Javier naturally wouldn't let him speak. How could he be allowed to say bad things when someone finally jumped out to take the blame? After saying that, he even cast an appreciative look at Father George next to him. He was indeed an old man who had worked with him for many years.

you got me.

The SWAT members who were originally responsible for arresting nearby became red-eyed when they heard that it was the guy in front of them who had killed one of their own. They didn't care about the other reporters around, and no matter how recklessly they started fighting, Javier couldn't stop them.

, it was not until Jack Bauer spoke up that he gradually stopped.

Jack Bauer glanced at Javier. He understood Javier's thoughts, but it was none of his business, as long as he didn't beat anyone to death.

Erwin was beaten to the point of dying. The police officers surrounded him during the beating. He had no place to hide. When he saw everyone stopped, he still shouted: "I will sue you. You are abusing this."

Authority..."

"Go and tell the judge to take it away."

Jack Bauer waved his hand, and two policemen escorted Erwin, who was still unwilling, into the police car behind him.
