309 Economic crisis

At night, Irving followed the address and came to the Cavalier Bar, which was actually near New York's famous Central Park.

After finishing the phone call with McClain at noon, Owen found a hotel to catch up on his sleep. He didn't feel tired even when he wasn't sleeping, and he almost didn't wake up when he fell asleep.

Owen slept for a full six hours before being woken up by the alarm clock. Fortunately, he set the alarm clock before going to bed.

"Man, this way..."

As soon as Irving entered the bar, he saw McClain waving to him, obviously he had arrived a long time ago.

Owen walked over.

"You're late, Owen. Man, give him a vodka..."

"There's such a traffic jam in New York. Wait, change it to whiskey. I'll give you vodka..."

Owen explained and motioned to the bartender to wait, but was immediately interrupted by McClain.

"No, no, no, man, just bring vodka, listen to me..."

McClain motioned to the bartender to listen to him, and then said to Owen: "Listen to me, the vodka here is the best, you have to drink vodka when you come here, believe me..."

Owen shrugged and reluctantly accepted. He wasn't too keen on spirits like vodka, but since McLean strongly recommended it, he might as well try it. Usually, he still preferred tequila in terms of taste, and occasionally whiskey would do.

The bartender quickly brought his wine and Owen took a sip. The taste was indeed very special. Apart from the aroma of wine, there was almost no other aroma. The taste was fierce and strong, and it was as if he had swallowed a mouthful of fire.

To be honest, it is very difficult to drink, but after drinking it, you will have a wonderful feeling.

"How about it, I didn't lie to you..."

McClain looked at Owen's suffering look with a smile, and then took a sip himself, his face full of intoxication.

"how are things?"

Owen put down his glass. The wine was so strong, so it was better to drink it slowly. He didn't want to get drunk on the street when he came to New York for the first time.

"Don't mention it, you will know after watching TV..."

Only then did Irving realize that the news was playing on the TV in the bar. After McClain asked the boss to turn up the volume, he heard the news constantly talking about bank bad debts, loan repayments, and the collapse of several Wall Street companies. People

My hard-earned money was wasted and so on...

Irving shook his head. Los Angeles was also like this before he came. A large amount of advance consumption and bad debts led to a financial crisis, and the U.S. economy was in trouble. Fortunately, the Irving family did not have many loans, and Irving's salary was very generous, so the impact was not great.

But Owen knows that many people have been affected by the financial crisis, and their assets have shrunk. In severe cases, it is even difficult to repay loans.

The scene then switched to a scene of many people marching and causing trouble. Police were everywhere around to maintain order, and they were very distressed.

"Look, there are parades all over New York. The police officers, many of them have actually suffered a lot from the financial crisis. They would rather join the parade than stand there and fight.

They are opposing each other against their will."

"There is no way, the government doesn't come forward at all, those guys on Wall Street will only focus on cutting their own losses, and the money that ordinary people put with them has been used by them in various ways to fill their own holes..."

Although Owen doesn't know much about economics, what he said is true. Many investment funds have suffered serious losses, but the funds are opaque, and most of the losses are ordinary people's money.

"Okay, let's not talk about this anymore. That day you talked about the bombing at the premiere. Tell me about it in detail..."

They talked about this when they met last night. Time was short at that time, and Irving just talked about it casually. McClain was obviously more interested in this.

Irving nodded. Some details of the bombing at the Los Angeles premiere have been announced to the media. Of course, the details about the white mask were not disclosed, but that was just out of concern for not causing trouble. It did not mean that they could not be kept secret.

Owen told McClain roughly how the explosion was solved. McClain was also a police detective and a sergeant, so he could naturally hear the danger in it.

"Man, maybe I should consider going to CTU. The work of the police is really boring. Most of the time every day is spent dealing with trivial matters. Occasionally there is a big case, and I have to fight with the FBI and DEA..."

"Are you willing to be a policeman?"

Owen asked, he knew how much McClane liked to be a policeman. In fact, to put it bluntly, his divorce had something to do with it. It was strange that the relationship could be maintained after being separated for a long time.

But at the beginning, Holly proposed a compromise plan and asked him to be transferred to the Los Angeles Police Department. This would not delay him from continuing to be a police officer, and the family could be reunited. Moreover, with the capabilities of Holly's company, this could be easily accomplished, but Mike

Ryan just disagreed and said he didn't want to leave New York.

Sure enough, McClain shook his head mockingly.

Owen didn't know what this guy was thinking, and he didn't say anything.

The two clinked glasses, and McClain drank faster and faster. This guy had a good drinking capacity, and Irving just drank with him, but after drinking for a while, McClain seemed to be fine, but Irving was already a little drunk.

.

Vodka is indeed vodka!

"Dudududu"

The two had just finished a small drink and the bartender had just filled the glasses for them when MacLean's phone rang.

He said a few words and seemed a little annoyed, but finally said: "I understand, I'll be there soon."

This is probably the frustration of being a police officer!

Seeing McClain's apologetic look, Irving waved his hand nonchalantly: "If you have anything to do, go ahead and get busy. I used to be a police officer, so I can totally understand."

McClain said apologetically: "Sorry brother, I'm really sorry, urgent mission. Those damn guys had an accident during the parade. There are not enough police in New York, and all plainclothes have to be on duty..."

"Okay, okay, go ahead and don't worry about me. Are you afraid that I won't be able to find you home?"

Owen waved his hand and dismissed McClain.

"Okay, brother, I'm leaving first..."

McClain grabbed his coat and walked towards the door. Before leaving, he knocked on the bar and said to the bartender: "Everything about my friends will be charged to my account..."

Owen didn't refuse McClane's generosity. Watching McClane leave, Owen raised his neck and drank the remaining wine in the glass.

Bored, he continued to watch the news. Sure enough, the news mentioned that something unexpected happened to the parade, and it seemed that someone had a conflict with the police.

The bartender came over to give Owen a refill, and Owen waved his hand. The vodka was really strong, and he was already a little dizzy after just a few drinks.

A man came out of the bar, and Owen felt a little clearer after being blown by the night breeze. He was not drunk now, it was just the first time he drank vodka, and he was a little heady, so he was still conscious.

Owen decided not to take the car first, but to take a walk along the street to sober up and experience the New York night.
