737 Return to China and Interrogation

Two days later, Irving set out on his way back to the United States.

This time, it was no longer Aeroflot but American Delta Airlines. Although the flight was delayed due to bad weather, Irving was still willing to wait.

Aeroflot is never late. No matter how bad the weather is, the tough pilots will take off without hesitation in order to get off work on time. Sometimes they will even arrive early. But every time Irving thinks about the last time he took a flight, the flight attendant said:

The burning engine outside said to him, "We have a small problem with the engine," and his calmness was shuddering. He said nothing and was unwilling to applaud when he landed.

The entire flight, except for a few dozen minutes of delay at the beginning, went smoothly.

The plane began to land and then taxied smoothly on the runway. After it came to a stop, Owen followed the crowd and got off the plane.

Walking out of the cabin, Owen saw the black Saab parked on the runway before he even got off the gangway. Jack Bauer was wearing a black suit and a pair of sunglasses on his eyes. When he saw Owen, he waved.

Owen smiled wryly and waved to him, got off the gangway and walked straight towards him.

"I thought someone would come, but I never thought it would be you..."

Owen walked to Jack and stood in front of Jack. So many things had happened during this period, including the Beslan incident, the attack on Air Force One, and the Kremlin family dinner. Although the Russian government said nothing about Owen, the CIA was not a decoration.

, the United States will definitely know some information about Irving. Maybe the photos of him visiting Russia's anti-terrorism exercises are now on the desks of the CIA and FBI. Irving knew that the relevant departments would definitely come to him, but he didn't expect that he would come.

Jack.

"Get in the car. On behalf of the FBI, I invite you to go back and assist in the investigation. I don't need to show you your ID..."

Jack Bauer shrugged, opened the Sababan car door, and took Owen's luggage at the same time. Owen smiled helplessly and got in obediently.

Jack threw his luggage into the trunk, started the car, and drove away.

"How is it in the FBI? Are you still used to it?"

On the way, Owen chatted with Jack casually, and Jack shrugged: "Everything is pretty good, there are endless things to do every day, and the case is not simple, but it is not as urgent as CTU..."

Jack glanced in the rearview mirror and saw that the FBI was not involved in ordinary small cases. Only interstate cases or major cases would require the FBI.

Of course, these cases are nothing compared to the CTU cases, that is, some gun cases, serial murder cases, and occasionally some explosion cases, but it also depends on the mood. If the explosives are more powerful, they may be caught by the CTU.

Eyed.

After all, usually terrorist attacks are not comparable to ordinary cases in terms of firepower or consequences. These cases used to be under the jurisdiction of the FBI. It is precisely because terrorist attacks far exceed other attacks that the United States has specially established a CTU to deal with them.

handle such cases.

"Don't they need to avoid suspicion when they let you come over?"

"No need, Womack knows who I am..."

Along the way, the two chatted like old friends. Although there was a superior-subordinate relationship in the past, Jack always took good care of Owen. The relationship between the two was very good, and Owen even fell out with the president because of him.

But don't expect Jack to open the door just because of this. Jack is not a favoritist. If Irving really treason, Jack will definitely be the first to shoot, even if Irving saves his life, it will be useless.

The car soon arrived at the FBI station, and Owen was taken into an interrogation room.

Irving has been to this place before, during the last joint arrest of Avril. The person who received him at that time was Benjamin. Thinking of that guy, he was the assistant director at the time and has now been transferred back to Washington.

In the interrogation room, Irving sat quietly while two FBI staff members installed a lie detector on Irving.

After the installation was completed and everything was ready, Jack asked everyone else to go out, took a document and walked to Jack to sit down.

"Okay, let's get started, I'm sorry, you know I have to do this..."

"Okay, you can ask, I just hope it will be faster."

Owen knew that he would never be able to escape this level. The only reason to blame was that he was not an ordinary person before. He was the commander of a national anti-terrorism team, a senior commander who reported directly to the president, and knew too many national secrets and matters related to the country.

Something safe.

Jack started asking questions. As usual, they started with some ordinary questions, used to see if the lie detector was normal. It was also an interrogation technique. Owen answered them all one by one.

Jack looked at the polygraph results every time he asked a question. So far, the pointer representing Owen's heart rate has always fluctuated within the normal range.

"So, Owen, did you have any contact with Russian intelligence while you were in Russia?"

Jack asked the first big news.

"Yes, I have been in contact with both FSB and FSO."

Owen said calmly.

"Why did the FSB come to you? Have you disclosed any U.S. state secrets to them..."

"The FSB followed me at the beginning because they knew my identity and thought I had other purposes for going to Russia. As for state secrets, it is impossible for me to reveal them..."

Jack looked at the polygraph and found nothing abnormal, which meant that everything Owen said was true.

In fact, Owen has learned how to fool the lie detector. Jack also knows that the instruments rely on rules to judge. As long as you know what the rules are, people can fool the machine, but even if people can fool the machine, they will still remain.

Clues, that's what Jack saw.

"Why did the Russian President's plane crash and what happened on it?"

Jack once again asked a point that the whole world wanted to know.

"I'm sorry, I can't disclose what happened on the Russian presidential plane. I promised President Vovsky not to reveal a single word about what happened on the plane. This is also the prerequisite for my return to the United States."

Owen really couldn't say anything about this issue. Jack had obviously guessed this a long time ago and did not continue to pester him. What he wanted to know was whether Owen had committed treason, not to obtain more information. This question was just a test.

"So what is your current relationship with the Russian president, and why did you go to the Kremlin?"

Owen has no doubts about why the FBI knows so clearly. From the Cold War to the present, the United States and Russia have placed countless intelligence agents in each other's hinterland. Those moles have long been lurking in various locations in all walks of life.

"President Vovsky and I are considered friends. We once fought side by side and were in deep siege together. We went to the Kremlin to attend the president's family dinner. The couple hosted a banquet for me and my wife. The president's wife personally

kitchen……"

"Then what's the soup for this meal?"

Jack suddenly asked a strange question, but Owen still answered: "It's beetroot soup."

The red cabbage soup that day tasted very good, so Owen still remembered it freshly.

Jack's face was expressionless. Every question he asked seemed unrelated, but in fact it had its own purpose. Just like the question just now, it is said that the Russian first lady made very good red cabbage soup before she became the first lady.

Very famous in small circles.

Since he is cooking by himself, it is natural to make red cabbage soup. If Owen's answer just now is not red cabbage soup, then either he is unlucky or he is lying.
