083 Identity

Owen went downstairs, turned on the computer, called up the surveillance content, set it to fast-forward mode, and started watching it this afternoon.

Most of the time, the content in the picture is monotonous and unchanged. Occasionally, a vehicle passes by, and the camera is pointed straight ahead, taking in part of the McCall's house.

In the picture, Mr. McCall was reading on the recliner with a book as usual, and he went back after a while...

Owen was a little bored, so he adjusted the video speed to four times. The video screen changed rapidly. After a while, a guy appeared. Owen recognized it at a glance as the dead guy.

Owen adjusted the speed back to normal, and saw the dead guy named Mahmoud appearing at the door of his house. He first pretended to be passing by, and then sneaked back to see if there was no one around, then he lay on the window and started talking.

He looked inside, and after a while he put his ear to the door to listen to what was going on inside.

After struggling for a while, probably because no one was home, he actually took out a gun and installed a silencer.

The more Owen looked at it, the more he frowned. He was not at home at the time, his mother had not gotten off work, and Amanda was still at school, so he escaped. If there was someone at home at that time, Owen could not imagine what would happen next...

In the video, the guy suddenly turned around and looked back, as if something behind him had alerted him. Then he gave up and walked toward the opposite side with some caution. There was no sound in the video, and Owen couldn't guess why, but it was obvious that there was.

What happened.

Owen continued. The guy in the picture walked around behind the McCall's house with a gun, and never came out again. Owen frowned, and he rewind the surveillance and watched it again. It was true that he never came out again.

.

Now Owen was confused. The other party came to him to seek revenge. This was certainly true. But why did he disappear after entering the McCall house? When was he killed?

A black face suddenly appeared in Owen's heart. There was always a warm smile on that face. It seemed that he was enjoying the beauty of life every moment.

"Chloe, can you help me check on someone else?"

Owen dialed Chloe's number again. Chloe rolled her eyes on the other end of the phone and said helplessly: "Owen~~~"

"Help, it's really important..."

Owen also felt that he was not treating himself as an outsider, but when it came to the safety of his loved ones, Owen just had to be shameless.

"Okay, what's your name?"

"Robert McCall."

"Hold on……"

Irving didn't hang up the phone this time, and soon Chloe said over there: "Checked it out, this is a black man with no job and no criminal record. He grew up in Montana. The information shows that he has been working in Montana since he was 20 years old.

Traveling between various cities in the United States, Boston, San Francisco, New York, Houston, Philadelphia, Detroit, Atlanta, Pittsburgh...

This man traveled almost all over the United States and left his footprints in almost every state. In addition, he spent five years abroad. I can’t find out what he did specifically. He returned to the United States three years ago and has settled in Los Angeles since then.

Now living in...um...Zilin Community, Owen, this guy seems to be your neighbor..."

"I know, is there anything wrong with him?"

"Well...let me see..."

There was the sound of keyboard tapping on the other end, and then he said.

"No, all the information is normal, education records, bank statements, travel records, medical records, everything looks normal. Oh, by the way, this guy has been in the military. The army evaluated him as excellent, and his specialty is investigation.

Fight with me!"

"Okay, I understand, thank you..."

No problem was found. Not only did Owen wonder if he was overthinking, but Mr. McCall, who was always smiling, did not look like a master who could kill people with a credit card.

Owen was about to hang up the phone, but Chloe suddenly said: "Wait, Owen, what do you think I found?"

Chloe's voice was full of surprise, and Owen couldn't wait to say: "Stop being so pretentious, what is it?"

"His income."

Like a child who discovered a toy, Chloe explained excitedly: "Every month, a fund called Picture Capital will send him money, and as far as I know, this fund is a wallet account of the CIA.

Just to pay for some shady transactions..."

"You mean this McCall is from CiA?"

"No, what I mean is that he may be a CIA agent, informant, collaborator, intelligence agent or black glove. Of course, it is not ruled out that he is just an ordinary investor who happened to invest in this fund...

"

"Anyway, this person is not simple, you have to be careful..."

Chloe didn't ask Owen why he checked this person, and Owen didn't explain.

After hanging up the phone, Owen lay on the bed trying to figure out the relationship.

There is no doubt that McCall must have killed that person. He is related to the CIA. His specialty in the military is fighting. He is fully capable of killing a person silently. The question is why did he do this?

The intelligence provided by Chloe shows that he is wandering around the country, so his identity is probably an agent, which is required by his work. Even during those years abroad, he may have been performing overseas missions.

Irving did the math. He settled in Los Angeles three years ago. At about the same time, he bought Mrs. Zeiss's house across the street, moved into the Purple Forest Road Community, and became neighbors with their family.

But these still can't explain what happened between him and this Hamoud.

Irving was confused. Could it be that he had a feud with the Red Front abroad during his years abroad, but the Red Front had not yet been established at that time, or that he had a feud with Salim or Mahmoud, but this probability

too small.

Owen watched the surveillance again. Mahmoud was attracted by something after taking out his gun. Owen thought it was probably McCall who discovered him and then found a way to attract him to his house.

No matter what his purpose was, McCall did help Irving's family in disguise. Without him, Mahmoud would have ambushed his family, and his mother and sister would definitely encounter something unexpected when they came back. There is nothing wrong with these terrorists.

The custom of not killing women and children.

Irving couldn't understand McCall's purpose, but he felt that McCall had no ill intentions. This was the intuition of a former homicide detective.

Thinking of this, Owen went downstairs, walked across the street, came to the door of McCall's house, and knocked on the door.

After a while, the sound of the door opening was heard from inside. McCall stood by the door and looked at Owen outside: "Hey Owen, what's the matter?"

Owen thought for a moment and said, "It's nothing. I came here specifically to thank you."

"Thank me? Thank me for what? Did you make a mistake?"

"Thank you for everything you have done for my family. Although I don't know why you did it, I am very grateful..."

For a moment, Irving noticed that McCall's eyes had changed, but then he returned to his usual gentle look: "I don't understand what you are talking about, but I like Zilin Road Community very much. The people here are friendly, quiet, and interact with each other."

There is so much love between us, I like my current life very much, and I don’t want it to be ruined..."

After hearing McCall's words, Owen seemed to understand, but at the same time he seemed to understand nothing.
