Chapter 89 The Three Monks Discuss the Buddha

This time, Scarface did not follow him forcibly. With Monk Yanji by his side, there should be no danger, and Liu Shuzhu still entrusted him with the important task of finding the person.

"By the way, a few days ago, there was a dragon beast chasing behind me on the road. Now, this beast has gone somewhere..."

Monk Yanji nodded and said: "The poor monk has heard from the young master about this. It should be a strange beast on the shoulder of the Spirit Dragon Emperor. It is called the 'Red Flame Dragon Beast'. Its adult body has the combat power to destroy the Martial Emperor."

, even in childhood, you can barely make an enemy of your beloved. In ancient times, the Dragonborn had a deep connection with Buddhism, so being able to be close to you is also a rare good relationship..."

Liu Shuzhu was speechless: "How can that earth lizard be so powerful if its wings are burnt?" But if he said it was good luck, he didn't really believe it. If he hadn't snatched a treasured garment to protect his body, he would have been spit out by the dragon beast long ago.

The fireball burned to ashes, "Then can you find it and conquer it?"

Monk Yanji shook his head again: "This beast is extremely intelligent, no less intelligent than humans. After being injured, it will probably sleep underground and absorb the energy of earth fire to recover itself. As for when it will come out again, no one can predict

There is no way to find it." As he spoke, he couldn't help but sigh, "The Spirit Dragon City is probably in ruins. From now on, the secret method of hatching and domesticating dragon beasts will be lost..."

The Linglong Emperor's momentary anger brought disaster to the entire city, and hundreds of millions of lives were lost. From this, we can see that although Buddhism teaches salvation, it does not care about everything.

After half a day, everything was arranged properly, and Monk Yanji began to form a large magic circle to cross the void, leaving this place and heading to the giant city.

Before leaving, Ouyang Xue hesitated, and finally said to him with a red face: "Be careful."

Liu Shuzhu smiled softly and said, "Don't worry."

In fact, the two of them knew very well that Ouyang Xue wanted to go to Jucheng with him, but the road ahead was uncertain. How could Liu Shuzhu have the heart to take her into danger together.

Suddenly, a sense of loneliness arose in his heart for no reason. What kind of path will the secrets he is involved in lead him on?

Once you embark on this road, can you turn back?

If the road is full of thorns, in order not to involve the people around you, you have to walk alone.

Surrounded by soft light, it felt like my body was traveling through the void for a while before breaking out from the other end.

The scene around me changed, and they appeared in a completely unfamiliar environment. The three of them were millions of miles away. No mortal could cross this long distance even if they spent their entire lives!

The place where he appeared was still extremely desolate, and the sea of sand in the desert seemed to have no end.

Next, Monk Yanji did not continue to carve the formation, but led the two of them to fly southeast for a long time.

It was not until this time that Liu Shuzhu understood in more detail that the teleportation formation also had many restrictions and could not evolve arbitrarily. Otherwise, with the assistance of the formation pattern, no matter how big Zhongzhou was, it would still be close to Emperor Wu, but the fact was that it was not

Not so!

Warriors in the true martial realm can cross the void without relying on external energy support. They can only use their own essence as the base of the formation to carve formation patterns, talismans, and seals. However, the amount of essence and energy consumed to evolve a large-scale formation is very huge, even if it is perfect,

It is difficult for Emperor Wu to cross frequently and it will take time to slowly recover.

Moreover, the formation that evolves from place to place will have deviations in its orientation, so you need to constantly deduce it in your mind, calculate the current orientation, and then draw the formation pattern.

This path is extremely profound. If the formation pattern is slightly wrong, you will not be able to reach your destination, and you may be lost in the void forever, exhaust your vitality, and become a living fossil wandering like a ghost!

What's more worth noting is that between heaven and earth, there are many dangerous places with barren mountains and rivers. There is no grass growing for millions of miles around, and the energy is extremely thin, making it impossible to activate the formation pattern. If he accidentally falls into one, Emperor Wu's life will be in danger.

.

On the way, Liu Shuzhu asked him what the purpose of his trip was, and Monk Yanji only said: "You will know when you get there." Even the young monk was tight-lipped and did not tell him any information about the stupa.

Four or five months have passed since the appearance of the Green Lantern Buddha, but there has been no movement of this giant Buddha that disturbed the world, and no one has ever heard of anyone finding out where the temple where the Buddha is buried is.

Monk Yanji said: "As expected, the green lantern Buddha's shadow will reappear in the near future. In the future, the number of appearances will only become more frequent."

From this, one can't help but think of the vast ruins of Buddhas transformed from the corpse of the fairy.

Both he and the young monk wanted to know what kind of place it was, and why it was not mentioned in Buddhist classics, yet it gave people an extremely real feeling.

Monk Yanji visibly froze and lost his composure, which frightened the two of them.

How could the lost temples of Buddhas manifest themselves due to the energy leaked from the ancient fairy queen?

"That place, in the Buddhist sect of the Middle Earth, may be able to give you an explanation. The poor monk doesn't know." It was a lie at first glance. He must have known some shocking secrets, but he refused to tell the two of them life and death.

The young monk scratched his bald head and said confusedly: "Can it be that the relics of all Buddhas are not found in China? I thought Buddhism originated in the Western Desert."

Buddhism's influence spreads all over Zhongzhou, but there are no decent temples in the Eastern Region, and Buddhism has declined. But in the other four major regions, the influence of Buddhism cannot be ignored!

The Western Desert is the origin of Buddhism. Judging from the incomplete records in classics, this is not false. However, it is said that the Buddhism in China inherits the Mahayana orthodoxy and believes in the Buddha among Buddhas, known in the world as the Great Sun Tathagata Buddha.

!

The two of them thought for a long time, their heads were as big as a bucket, and they couldn't figure out a clear clue at all.

Regarding the scene of the heavenly monument encountered in the relics, Liu Shuzhu always had a strange feeling and did not mention this to the Yanji monk.

When talking about the division of Buddhist factions, we cannot ignore the existence of the three major temples in the Western Desert.

What are the three major temples?

They are the Tenth World Temple, the Xumi Bodhi Temple, and the Daming King Temple.

These three temples are all built in huge cities, and the Buddhas they worship are different. The Tenth Temple only listens to the teachings of the Tenth Buddha, the Bodhi Temple worships Sumeru Bodhi Buddha, and the Damingwang Temple only worships the Fudo Mingwang.

"There are three thousand volumes of Buddhist scriptures, and the Dharma can help the common people. The scriptures say that there are many Buddhas in the Pure Land of Lingshan, who are free from calamities and disasters. The scriptures say that there are ten generations of Buddhas, Sumeru Bodhi Buddha, and Fudo Mingwang Buddha, all of whom are great enlightenments; the scriptures say that there are ten generations of compassion.

The sound chant, the Sumeru Bodhi Song, and the Fudo Ming King Mantra are all signs of the great Dharma..."

Liu Shuzhu still vaguely remembers this sentence. It was said by Huifan Arhat and the old woman Xiaoyao Wang when they were debating Buddhism.

The Fudo Myoyo Mantra is the six-character mantra spoken by the world. Liu Shuzhu has witnessed its power with his own eyes, and there is no need to say more. The other two great dharma, the Song of Sadness for the Ten Worlds and the Song of Sumeru Bodhi, must be true Buddhist teachings, and their power is boundless!

However, according to monk Yanji's explanation, the six-character mantra is different from the legend. It is just a fragment of the Fudo Myoyo Curse. Most of the essence has been destroyed over time, leaving only six words!

But only six words can convey all the principles of the world. Since the era of prosperous martial arts, only Huifan Arhat can barely understand it. As for the other two Buddhist treasures, they have been lost long ago!

One hundred thousand years have passed, but there are only six golden-bodied Arhats. Each Arhat has a tragic deed that has been passed down to this day.

For example, the young monk mentioned the story of the Fourth Patriarch drinking from the river, sitting in meditation for more than 1,800 years to repent of his sins, and the story of the Fifth Patriarch Arhat having his golden body executed. When asked about the great monk’s special deeds that year, Lian Xiangwu was happy.

The compassionate Yanji monks couldn't help but smile.

"The most talked-about deeds of the Sixth Patriarch were a discourse on Buddhism that took place when he was young, before he attained Arhat status, five or six thousand years ago."

During the journey, Liu Shuzhu continued to enrich himself, asking questions again and again, and he was also happy to hear this interesting story about Buddhism.

then.

From the northern border, the middle border, and the southern border, two eminent monks and a nun came to the Western Desert to give lectures on the Dharma and talk about Buddhism.

At that time, the three major temples in the Western Desert were in a period of depression, and the eminent monks in the temples were enthroned one after another so that no one could compare with those three eminent monks, and they were disgraced.

Although the three major temples are Taoist temples, they are not visited by spectators.

In the end, the three of them spoke like lotuses, each refusing to give in, and started a debate that will last forever. The content of the debate was only four words - what is a Buddha?

Who can answer this question clearly from ancient times to the present?

At the beginning of the debate, the old host from the north asked the abbot from China: What is Buddha?

The abbot said: Buddha is the world.

The abbot turned around and asked the goddess Ni from southern Xinjiang: What is a Buddha?

The nun smiled and said: Buddha is a living being.

After the nun finished speaking, he turned around and asked the old abbot from the north: What is a Buddha?

The host answered: Buddha is suffering.

Three enlightened monks studied Buddhism deeply, and three different understandings and different Buddhas, connected together, are - all living beings in the world are suffering.

It was difficult to distinguish right from wrong, superior and inferior, and I sat there for several months, unable to give up.

At this moment, a nine-foot-tall young monk with a fierce face came.

Not long after he became a monk, he happened to be returning from a trip. Hearing about the Buddhist debate, he walked directly to the venue, passed the eminent monks and nuns one by one, with a face full of ridicule, and laughed three times unscrupulously.

In that picture, it is not difficult to imagine that the young monk's behavior was indeed a bit presumptuous.

Seeing him like this, the two eminent monks and the goddess nuns made the Buddha uneasy and asked him in unison: What is a Buddha?

Hearing this, Monk Yanji gave up and paused, but Liu Shuzhu couldn't help being curious and asked him: "How did Huifan Arhat answer?"

Monk Yanji shook his head and said, "The great monk didn't say anything. He just farted loudly and ignored the three of them. He laughed and left."

Liu Shuzhu's eyes almost dropped as his voice suddenly rose an octave higher than a human voice: "Did you fart!?"

"Yes." The young monk hurriedly answered, "The rumor also said that that fart was really loud, but it made the two divine monks and goddess nuns change their expressions one after another. They looked at the back of the Sixth Patriarch and never looked back.

I didn't dare to say a word and left the West Desert in disgrace!"

Liu Shuzhu rolled his eyes. This legend was too unreliable. He thought Hui Fan Arhat would have something shocking to say.

"Your expression changed. Are you sure you weren't intoxicated by that stinky fart?"

Monk Yanji's expression regained his composure and he recited: "Buddha is Buddha. He will not be regarded as yes because of your belief; nor will he be regarded as wrong because of your disbelief."

Liu Shuzhu rolled his eyes and said sourly: "Master Yanji's words are biased. When the monks in ancient times achieved Buddhahood, wouldn't the world still be the same as it was before? If all living beings don't have enough to eat, they still won't be happy, and the sufferings are still the same.

It increases because of the Buddha, let alone decreases because of the Buddha."

The young monk jumped to his feet and shouted: "What are you talking about? This kid has a sharp mouth. Yanji, don't let him get in the way."

Monk Yanji did not argue with him, but simply said: "Do you know why many people call Buddhism a 'pagan religion'?"

Liu Shuzhu had also heard of the term paganism, and Qin Mubai once told him about it.

"Among the people who believe that the Buddha once lived in the world, some people always believe that the Buddha will never be able to achieve enlightenment because the Buddha himself...is not of my species."

Liu Shuzhu's body was inexplicably shaken.

Not from my race, isn’t the Buddha himself a human race?
