055: Facing Fear

Professor White, who had no choice but to look at his father's earnest eyes, finally nodded in agreement.

She lowered her head and looked directly into Joel's clear and innocent eyes, "Promise me that you will pay attention to your own safety."

"Okay." Joel chuckled.

Constantine's lips trembled, and he stretched out his withered left hand and patted Joel's shoulder.

He was full of thanks but couldn't say it. It wasn't because he was introverted and not good at expressing his feelings, but because he couldn't speak English.

After a night of silence, Joel woke up the next day and felt that all the muscles in his body were sore and weak, as if they had been repeatedly run over by heavy objects.

The light rain outside has stopped, and the air is still moist and fresh. Constantine is leaning against the wall and taking a nap. The relaxation of his neck muscles causes his head to droop from time to time.

Professor White was sitting at the entrance of the cave looking out at the woods, still holding the wand tightly in his left hand.

Joel gritted his teeth and climbed up from the ground. The damp and uneven ground was really not suitable for sleeping, especially for a child like him who was still growing.

After stretching, her bones made a clicking sound, Professor White turned her head, and only then did Joel notice the bloodshot eyes in her eyes.

After waking up Constantine, when the first ray of sunlight in the morning shone on Joel's handsome face, the two grabbed Professor White's arm and apparated out of the cave.

Stepping on the cobblestones of Diagon Alley, Joel walked without stopping, leading the two of them to Knockturn Alley along the route he remembered.

Not many people come to Diagon Alley for shopping in the morning. Most of the pedestrians are store clerks who come to open their doors for business, and Knockturn Alley is no exception.

The group of people soon saw the storefront of Borgin Bock. The skull on the store sign was full of green.

"Isn't Knockturn Alley weird?" The three of them were silent all the way, which made Joel feel very depressed, so he had to take the initiative to open up the topic.

"Nothing special," Constantine looked around and passed it to Joel through Professor White's translation. "The black magic shop in Moscow is much more spectacular than this one."

Spectacular...Joel was unconvinced by the adjective.

Joel pushed open the door of Borkin Bock's store. The owner, Borgin Bock, was standing in front of the counter, wearing a pair of pince-nez glasses and examining a human hand.

The palms were shriveled and black, and the black nails were long and pointed, looking strange and inexplicable.

"Mr. Borgin Burke, long time no see." Joel stretched out his finger and tapped the counter gently.

Borgin Burke raised his head and was a little surprised when he saw Joel, "Oh... Mr. Taylor, what a rare visitor."

His sinister eyes glanced past Professor White and Constantine, and paused briefly on Professor White's bandaged right arm.

"I came here to buy two things..." Joel took in all this and said softly.

After Borgin Burke listened to Joel's request, an ugly smile appeared on his withered face like tree bark, wrinkles piled up, and his eyes shone with the unique light of gold galleons.

This transaction cost Professor White most of his hard-earned savings, and the generous gold galleons made Borgin Bock happy all day long.

Professor White's residence in Hogsmeade.

The leader of the Eternal Nights, Andrei Ulyanov, looked cold. He closed his eyes tightly and raised his left arm to reveal two crossed wands - this was the unique mark of the Eternal Nights.

The wand in his right hand gently touched the mark, and the wand and mark glowed dimly. This posture remained for a long time.

The two sturdy Yongye people stayed in the corner of the room, not daring to take a breath. One of the Yongye people had a bandage on his head. He was badly hit by Joel's hammer last night.

Finally, Andre moved the wand away from the mark, slowly opened his eyes, and said, "Give me the map."

The two people on the side quickly stepped forward and placed the map in Andre's hand. Andre's wand gently drew a circle on the map, and a black ink mark circled a forest.

"Constantine is in the circle. I can't confirm his specific location. You two act together and notify me immediately if you find anything." He said calmly.

"There is no room for error in this operation," he glanced at his two men, who visibly shuddered, "we don't have much time left..."

Under his arrangement, the two men apparated out of the room, leaving him alone, looking at the empty room with a long sigh, melancholy and depressed.

After the two Eternal Night people left, they used multiple phantoms to move on their way. Not long after arriving at the circle area, they discovered the traces of Constantine and his daughter.

Strange, could it be that the area divided by the leader is too small?

The two of them used their stealth skills to step forward. After confirming that it was Constantine, they immediately tapped the mark on their arms with their wands, called Andre, and then stepped forward to hold him back.

Andre was sitting in a chair with his eyes closed and concentrating. Suddenly he felt a burning sensation on the mark on his left arm.

Discovered so quickly?

Andre was a little suspicious. Although the area he circled was not large, Constantine would definitely not be stupid enough to show up directly outside, right?

In his imagination, Constantine should be huddled in a dark corner with his daughter.

Although he suspected that his men might have touched the mark accidentally, he still stood up, spun around and disappeared from the spot.

He could sense the approximate location of his hand through the burning wand mark, which was within the area he had circled.

The distance is a little far, and he needs four or five Apparitions to reach it.

It should be noted that Apparition does not allow you to go to any place in the world at will. First of all, some areas with anti-Apparition restrictions are not allowed to pass (Hogwarts is one of them). Secondly, Apparition is not allowed.

The magic spell of traveling through space is very demanding on magic power, and the distance between the appearance and the consumption of magic power increase exponentially.

If the distance for a single appearance is 1 mile, the magic power consumed is 1, but the magic power consumed for a single appearance of 5 miles is not 5, but 50.

In order to save magic power, many wizards choose to appear multiple times over short distances instead of going directly to the destination.

Andrei did the same thing. The mess in the Soviet Union kept him very busy, and his long-term energy exhaustion made his body far less powerful than it was in his heyday.

By the time they arrived at their destination, two minutes had passed since the mark started burning.

There were three people confronting each other in the woods, the bandaged Yongye man and Constantine and his daughter.

Another Yongye man was already lying on the ground unconscious.

"Where is the little boy?" Andre asked softly. He saw Professor White's injured right arm with blood pouring out.

It seems that his subordinate is not doing nothing.

"Chief, you are finally here. The boy has gone somewhere. When we found the target mission, it was only the father and daughter." The Yongye man was extremely excited the moment he saw Andre, and hid in Diao

The strong muscles under the fur coat were trembling.

Andre frowned and raised his hand to stop him behind him.

"Leave this to me, you don't have to worry about the rest." He said in a tone that was unquestionable.

"Hand over the spell," Andre turned to look at Constantine, "You can't run away, I will chase you to the end of the world!"
