Chapter 16 The fog is not deep

Annie stood in front of a floor-to-ceiling mirror that was as tall as one person, holding a white evening dress in her hands and measuring it on her body.

Lily looked at the messy dresses piled on the bed, and then looked at Anne's pretty face full of joy and excitement, and joked: "It seems like there will be a big shot at the ball tonight!"

Anne answered without realizing it: "Of course! There will be many nobles and business celebrities from the imperial capital coming to participate in the evening."

"Oh? I don't know that our beautiful little Annie has to spend so much time dressing up for that big shot?" Lily said in a strange tone.

"Well! Sister Lily is really a bad person, she actually laughs at others." Anne heard the implication of Lily, dropped her evening dress, waved her pink fists, and chased Lily pretending to be shy and angry.

"Okay! Okay! My sister has given up." Lily was thrown on the bed by Annie, laughing and begging for mercy.

"No! Today I'm going to punish you and make you laugh at me!" Anne reluctantly stretched out her hand to scratch the itchy flesh under Lily's armpits.

"Ha! Ha! Ha! Okay! Okay! I won't dare to do it next time! As compensation, let me help you choose a dress." Lily laughed and begged for mercy.

"Hmph! Okay, I'll spare you this time. You'll suffer the consequences next time." Annie snorted before getting up and letting go of Lily.

Lily came to Annie's wardrobe and picked around, finally choosing a low-cut black dress. She lifted the skirt and looked up and down, nodded with satisfaction, and handed it to Annie with a smile.

Annie went back to the back room, dressed up carefully, and then walked out.

Lily looked up and her eyes lit up.

I saw that Anne was wearing a low-cut black dress, a precious pearl necklace on her slender neck, which just covered her snow-white chest, and a pair of high-heeled shoes on her bamboo shoot-like feet. The whole person looked elegant and elegant.

Charming, gorgeous but not vulgar. In an instant, an extraordinary temperament emerges.

Lily looked at Annie standing in front of the mirror and sighed in her heart: "Our little Annie is really a peerless beauty. I really wonder which lucky brat can win our little Annie's heart?"

"Ah hoo! Little rookie! You are dressed up so greasy today, are you going to have fun somewhere else soon? Did you find another castle?" Billy smiled evilly and called out to the man in a white dress.

Rick.

"Hey! You are really a victim of injustice. Cockscomb! I really hate you more and more. Don't follow me all the time, please!" Rick complained helplessly and continued to walk outside the team headquarters without looking back.

"Ho! Ho! Captain Medel told me to watch you carefully. Just take me with you to have fun. Don't be so stingy?" Billy followed closely behind Rick and said sarcastically.

"Cockscomb! I don't have that kind of bad taste! I'm not looking for any fun, I was invited to the dance!" Rick suddenly stood firm and said seriously.

"Prom? You are really a gibberish brat." Billy reached out unhappily, grabbed Rick's cheek and slapped him on the forehead.

"Don't hit me on the head all the time! I'll be beaten stupid, you damn cockscomb." Rick struggled to break away from Billy, took out a beautiful invitation from his arms and threw it to Billy.

"Royal View Hotel! Ho! Ho! It seems like you've got a big shot this time, little rookie. You can't just go to the dance here if you want." Billy looked at the invitation in surprise and muttered.

"Let's go, little rookie! Let's go to the dance together." Billy muttered, put the invitation into his arms and walked away.

"Hey! Cockscomb, that's my invitation. Why did you take it for yourself? Give it back to me quickly!" Rick asked.

"Young rookie! Don't be so stingy. I'm a senior! I've taken care of you for so long since you joined the team. It's reasonable for you to give it to me!" Billy said with a rogue expression.

Walking mindlessly.

"You bastard! Liar! Robber!" Rick shouted as he followed Billy.

The two of them fought and yelled all the way to the lobby of the Royal View Hotel.

"Hello! Are you two gentlemen here to attend tonight's luxurious ball?" A hotel attendant bowed politely and asked with a smile.

"Yah! Yes, little brother!" Billy shouted.

"Gentlemen, please show me your invitation!" the attendant said politely.

Billy reached out and took out the invitation from his arms and handed it to the attendant.

"Sir, please come this way! I wish you a pleasant evening." The attendant looked at the invitation and bowed politely, waving his hand.

"Thank you! Brother, tonight will definitely be a pleasant night." Billy waddled into the dance hall.

Rick raised his feet and was about to follow Billy into the hall, but the attendant stopped him with his hand and said politely: "Sir! Please show me your invitation."

"Isn't that cockscomb already given to you?" Rick said.

"Sorry sir, each invitation can only correspond to one guest. Please show your invitation," the attendant said politely.

Upon hearing this, Billy winked at Rick and said with a smile: "Little rookie! I won't wait for you, just take your time and do it."

"Ouch! You bastard!" Rick cursed Billy in his mind but could do nothing.

The invited guests arrived one after another, and the dance began as scheduled.

Rick was helpless in front of this meticulous, always smiling and polite attendant.

I could only sit down on the sofa in the hotel lobby in a daze.

"Stupid Qing! Why are you here?" An excited, sweet voice passed into Rick's ears.

Rick slowly raised his head, and was so surprised by the girl in black skirt that he opened his mouth and said stupidly: "Ann! Ni!"

Anne's eyes formed two crescent moons, she bent down and approached Rick and said sweetly: "I thought you broke the appointment, but I didn't expect you to be here. Did you lose the invitation, you stupid young man?"

Rick didn't seem to hear Annie's words at all. He stared blankly at Annie's charming smile and called in his heart: "Yeliel!"

"Stupid Qing! Why are you looking at people in a daze? You must be a little pervert too!" Annie stretched out her slender finger and gently poked Rick's forehead.

Only then did Rick come back to his senses, blushed and stammered: "The invitation was snatched away by the damn cockscomb!"

"Cockscomb head?" Annie said doubtfully.

"After all, he is a friend of mine." Rick explained without saying much when he saw this.

"Since there is no invitation, let's go for a walk in the garden in the backyard of the hotel." Annie smiled and took Rick's hand through the hotel lobby to the garden.

In early winter, the hotel's backyard garden was desolate, with a few dead leaves scattered on the abrupt branches. But what she saw in front of her did not disturb Annie's joyful mood at all.

"Meteor!" Annie shouted, pointing to a fleeting silver flash on the horizon.

Then Annie quickly closed her eyes and clasped her hands together in prayer.

Rick looked at Annie's child-like innocent expression, and couldn't help but feel a trace of affection in his heart.

"Are you making a wish?" Rick asked softly, looking up at the sky.

"Yes!" Anne replied obediently.

"How great it would be if the wish you made can really come true!" Rick sighed.

"Stupid Qing! Are you thinking about Ye Lier again?" Annie also looked at the night sky and asked a little disappointed.

Rick paused but didn't answer.

"Do you know what I wish for?" Anne said softly.

Rick shook his head.

"People always have to look forward! Maybe there is a better scenery ahead!" Annie showed tenderness and turned back to look at Rick.

"Yes! We should look forward. No matter how many scenery there are, how can we please a lonely figure." Rick murmured.

"Of course a lonely soul will not be happy. Just let me accompany you to appreciate the scenery ahead!" Annie hugged Rick tenderly and put her head on Rick's chest and said softly.

"Annie! Me!..." Rick was about to speak. At this time, the famous waltz sounded in the ball hall.

"Would you like to dance with me?" Annie looked at Rick with a peach blossom face.

Rick couldn't bear to refuse again and nodded slightly.

Along with the sound of music, Annie and Rick danced in the middle of the garden with withered walls.

At the end of the song, Annie fell into Rick's arms and gasped softly.

"Rick! You are a good boy. I really envy Ye Lier! I am willing to accompany you to see the scenery ahead, even if your heart has been occupied by Ye Lier. I believe that one day I will let you change

You will no longer be alone." Anne looked at Rick affectionately and then she playfully stuck out her tongue and ran back to the hotel.

Rick stared blankly at Annie's back with mixed feelings in his heart. He raised his head and looked at the stars in the sky. The stars seemed to have merged into Ye Lier, looking down at him with a smile.

"Ye Lier, I miss you so much! But how could Annie know that you are irreplaceable!"

"Nini! Why are you hiding here by yourself? The big shots at the ball are looking for you everywhere. It makes me look everywhere." Lily came to Annie's room and asked Annie who was lying on her back on the big bed.

"Sister Lily! I will definitely make that Rick and that stupid young man fall in love with me!" Annie vowed.

Lily looked at Annie in confusion and asked, "What Rick?"

"Okay! I'm so tired today. I want to take a bath and have a good sleep. Sister Lily, go help me deal with those big shots!" Annie said as she pushed Lily out of the room and closed the door.

Lily shook her head helplessly and muttered: "There's really nothing we can do about this little Annie." After saying that, she turned and left.

Annie leaned against the door, feeling a little disappointed in her heart.

"Yeliel is dead! So it doesn't matter even if Rick likes her. Annie, you will definitely get Rick's sincerity." Annie kept hinting to herself in her heart.

"Dang! Dang! Dang!" There was another soft knock on the door.

"Sister Lily, it's true. I don't know what you want me to do when you come back. Here it comes! Here it comes!" Annie muttered, turned around and opened the door.

"Who are you looking for?" Annie asked, looking at the red woman outside the door.

"Little girl, I'm here to find you." With a charming voice, the red woman stretched out a finger with bright red magic flames and inserted it between Annie's eyebrows.
