Chapter 27 Buying a Shroud

A thin boy walked in. He looked about fifteen or sixteen years old, with a hint of uneasiness on his immature face. Perhaps he was a little scared of coming to the gloomy underworld shop to buy a shroud at night.

"Boss, do you think it's appropriate for me to wear a shroud of this color at my age?" The boy in simple clothes pointed at a dark blue shroud and asked anxiously.

Su Bei turned to look at the boy with a reserved and nervous expression on his face. He didn't speak, but just looked at him intently.

The boy was stunned by Su Bei's strange eyes, and he subconsciously swallowed a mouthful of saliva.

After looking away from Su Bei, he opened his mouth and explained stutteringly; "Boss, it's not me who is wearing it, it's him, a friend of mine. He is sick and may not have a few days to live. So, I came over to help him buy it.

A shroud. Can I try it on?"

Su Bei turned his head and said calmly, "Okay."

The boy's breathing was a little rapid and he walked to the mirror on the side. He took off his clothes and put on the dark blue shroud with Su Bei's help.

Su Bei noticed that the tips of boys' nails were long and black.

Looking at his young self wearing a shroud in the mirror, the boy with timid eyes was stunned. His expression was very complicated, as if there were many inexplicable emotions intertwined together.

"Boss, is this suitable for me?"

"Very good." Su Bei looked at the boy in the shroud carefully and replied.

The face that was too pale and had a hint of grayness suddenly shed tears. The boy wiped away his tears and said with a trembling voice, "As long as it suits you, it suits you. Boss, how much does this set cost?"

"Two hundred, maybe."

Su Bei turned around and fiddled with the other shrouds on the rack. He simply sorted them out and replied. It was probably because he didn't see the boy crying.

"Boss, it's a bit expensive. Can it be cheaper?" The boy's mood seemed to be slowly recovering. He hesitated for a moment, and finally bargained softly.

"You only wear a shroud once in your life, so be kind to yourself."

The boy pursed his bloodless lips, took a long breath, and took out a dozen folded banknotes from his trouser pocket.

He carefully counted the amount, handed the money to Su Bei, and whispered, "Boss, wrap it up for me."

"OK."

Su Bei took the pile of dry banknotes and put them aside without checking the number. Then he helped the boy take off his shroud and wrapped it up again.

After taking the wrapped shroud, the boy suddenly raised his head and looked at Su Bei.

As if he mustered up the courage, he lowered his voice and said, "Boss, my name is Shi Lei, and my nickname is Xiao Shitou. This was given to me by my grandma. She hopes that my life will be as hard as a rock. No matter how hard I hit it with a hammer, it will break."

Not bad.”

At the end of his speech, he choked up, his eyes were red, and tears flowed out again.

Wiping his tears, he grinned but inadvertently revealed two long black fangs and said, "I just want someone to know my name."

After saying that, he turned around and left.

"Are you going to kill zombies with a knife when you get home?"

Su Bei, who walked behind the counter, asked in a nonchalant manner.

Shi Lei, who had just reached the door of the store, hesitated. His body stiffened and he stopped, but he did not answer immediately.

When Su Bei saw that Shi Lei was silent, he didn't speak again.

After a long time, Shi Lei turned around and cried with tears on his face, "I, I just want grandma to come back to life. I didn't know that grandma would turn into a zombie. I'm so scared. I'm afraid that grandma will run out and bite people like in the movie."

Me, I’m also afraid that I’ll turn into a zombie and hurt others.”

As he spoke, he squatted on the ground with his head in his hands, shivering like a helpless child.

"I, I want to go home and turn on the gas. Grandma and I were poisoned and died. Ying, it shouldn't hurt anyone."

Su Bei stood up from behind the counter and walked to Shi Lei's side.

"Let's go, let's go to your house and check the situation first."

Shi Lei was stunned for a moment, then he stopped crying and said to Su Bei ecstatically, "Boss, are you the legendary Mr. Yin and Yang? Can you save me and grandma?"

Su Bei turned off the light and walked outside. He hesitated for a moment and said, "One bite of you will make your corpse poison deep into your bones. Your grandma must have turned into a wild corpse. As for your corpse transformation, it will be a matter of time, but

I know a friend and will take you to meet him later. If he can't do anything, then you really have no hope."

Shi Lei's home is located in a garage in a nearby old community. The boy from a poor family has a zombie grandma, which makes things worse.

The most terrifying thing is that he is about to become a zombie.

When the two rushed to the garage, there was a large human-shaped hole in the middle of the garage door, and the garage was in a mess with no one around.

Shi Lei panicked. He looked at Su Bei nervously and said at a loss, "Boss, my grandma ran out. She ran out. What should I do? What should I do?"

Su Bei walked in with a solemn expression, released the big black dog to smell grandma's scent, and then asked the big black dog to lead the way to find her.

Not long after the two of them walked out, they met a man running over in a hurry. He was still on the phone.

"Come to Central Park quickly. I heard that a child was killed. He died miserably. I don't know who the unscrupulous person was."

Su Bei stopped.

Shi Lei's heart skipped a beat. He turned to look at Su Bei stiffly and said in a trembling voice, "Boss, my grandma couldn't have done this."

"It's best not. If it is, then things will be troublesome. Although I don't know much about zombies, once zombies drink blood, they may undergo qualitative changes."

Su Bei suppressed the bad feeling in his heart and quickly followed the man to Central Park with Shi Lei, who was frightened.

A lot of melon-eating people have gathered at the flower bed of the Central Park.

When watching the excitement, the neighbors are always the fastest to come.

Su Bei pushed through the crowd and walked in. He saw the body of a child lying on the ground in a terrible state of death.

The child was covered in blood, with wounds of various sizes everywhere, as if he had been eaten by some large beast.

Shi Lei only glanced at it with a pale face, but a strong sense of sucking was evoked deep in his heart, and the fangs on the side of his mouth gradually appeared.

He wanted to go up and take a sip of the blood.

Su Bei saw Shi Lei's strange behavior and pulled him outside.

When they reached the street, Su Bei was about to speak when he seemed to notice something. Without saying a word, he grabbed Shi Lei and ran forward.

Just as a taxi stopped in front, Su Bei pulled Shi Lei into the car quickly. He hurriedly said: "Master, drive quickly and go to the Third People's Hospital."

"Okay." The driver stepped on the accelerator and drove off.

Not long after the taxi left, a black shadow rushed out crazily.
