Chapter 2 Sound

Today is the fifth time I have gone out this year. Judging from the fact that I was too busy every day to take a breather, now my business has dropped too much.

Of course, I once thought about whether these were the words my dad left behind when he came to the city, saying: Everything has to start all over again.

Until this year, I almost understood its meaning. Perhaps, I wanted to go out on my own to discuss business.

After arriving in the city, it was already noon, and there were still nearly seven hours before the agreed time. After parking the car at the pre-arranged address, we took Wei Wa around the so-called "Flower World".

"Brother Xiao, when do you think we can live here?"

He pinched his chin and asked abruptly.

I thought for a moment, shook my head, and said nothing more.

Except for the fact that my father and another family who have a good relationship are still alive and well, some people in the village moved out of the village without listening to the advice. I guess the grass on the graves is now two meters high.

“The county town is so lively!”

Wei Ziqing was obviously a little confused, his eyes were moving around, not knowing what he was looking at, or maybe he was not looking at anything at all.

At half past six in the evening, I had a "big meal" on the roadside, greased my mouth, and drove the old and creaking hearse slowly to the entrance of a funeral home.

"Master Xiao!"

The man who walked out of the door was a man in his forties, with white cloth strips tied around his arms, bloodshot eyes, and a tired look. He then handed over a cigarette.

"Are you all ready?"

I didn't hesitate, took the cigarette, lit it, and chatted with him skillfully for a while.

"It's almost done." As he said that, he glanced back, said no more, took out his mobile phone and made a call.

Taking this opportunity, I gave Wei Ziqing a few words behind me, of course, to prevent the boy from acting too scared or asking endless questions.

"Don't worry, the dead have nothing to fear."

He smiled disapprovingly and whispered something in his ear.

After waiting for a few minutes, a group of eight of them walked out of the funeral parlor one after another. When they saw the dark shadow behind them clearly illuminated by the lights, they knew that the coffin was being carried out.

Seeing that the time had come, I skillfully opened the two rear doors of the car and signaled for everyone to carry the coffin in.

There are eight fixed chairs in the carriage.

There is also an aisle where the coffin is parked, with eight chairs divided into a row of four.

The lid of the coffin was opened two inches to allow the family to take a few more looks within the limited time.

After being carried into the car, the relatives stood outside the car discussing some trivial matters. I habitually wanted to take the yellow paper from the relatives' hands and place it on the coffin.

When I thought that Wei Ziqing was with me, I left this matter to him and entered the cab.

"Where to put it?"

There was a voice coming from behind me. I didn't know who it was, so I waved my hand and said that it would be fine if I put it in the middle of the coffin.

"Dong dong dong..."

There was a knock on the passenger door. I couldn't help but glance at it, but I didn't see anyone. I was a little confused. I thought for a moment, but didn't think any more, and then told Wei Ziqing to get ready to get in the car.

"Brother Xiao, where is the yellow paper?"

"Didn't I put you in the middle of the coffin?"

I shook my head and thought, why doesn't this kid remember things?

"Is there any?" He looked puzzled, tilted his head, and placed the yellow paper in the middle of the coffin.

"It's time to go..."

The voice came again, and I frowned. I could tell that the voice sounded like an old man in his sixties or seventies. From then on, I turned my head and looked up and down. As before, I didn't see any old man.

"Auditory hallucinations?" I muttered to myself, thinking that it was because I heard the crying sounds of those people in front of the funeral parlor just now that I heard the inexplicable noises.

I shook my head and didn't think about it. I still looked at the rearview mirror, always ready to start the car.

After nearly ten minutes of discussion, out of eight relatives, only six got in the car.

We started the car at the agreed place and time, and this trip was about to end.

Everything was going smoothly and orderly. I glanced at Wei Ziqing, playing with my newly bought mobile phone. It seemed that he had forgotten that there was a dead man lying behind him.

As we drove onto the road to the countryside, Wei Ziqing put down his cell phone and asked me softly why the eyes of the person lying inside were open.

"If you want to know, why don't you just ask?"

I smiled, not distracted, staring at the road ahead.

Of course, I will definitely not take what he said to heart.

After all, the weird things in the world are too

There have been many cases where the body suddenly sat up when the coffin lid was pushed open, not to mention that the eyes were open.

"Master Xiao, stop ahead."

"The hearse cannot stop halfway."

I glanced at the interior mirror and couldn't see the situation in the rear compartment, but I explained, hoping he could understand.

"I know, but my kid gets carsick and can't hold on any longer!"

He was not angry because of my words, and spoke in a pleading tone.

"All right."

I found an open place and parked the car. As for whether I could stop the car on the way, I was too lazy to think about it. Even my relatives didn't care, so I thought about what to do.

"I can't do it either!"

As soon as the car stopped, five of the six people in the car ran out of the car at the same time. Only the man was still throwing yellow paper out of the window.

"Master Xiao, can you help me? I also..."

After a while, the man clutched his stomach and looked extremely ugly.

"All right."

I nodded, pushed open the cab, walked into the carriage and took a stack of yellow paper. It could be seen that the man must have forced the vomit in his throat.

"vomit......!"

Sure enough, as soon as he got out of the car, he couldn't bear it anymore and leaned against the car door to vomit.

I glanced at the six people who got out of the car. Only two of them were vomiting. The remaining four people probably had their stomachs tumbling so much that they sat limply on the ground.

"Dong dong dong..."

He threw a piece of yellow paper out the window, and at the same time, he heard a soft sound coming from inside the coffin.

The sound was like fingernails tapping on the screen of a mobile phone. It was the same sound as Wei Ziqing's tapping on the screen just now.

Of course, this sound alone cannot scare me. After all, I have also experienced some strange things.

"Dong dong dong..."

The sound came again, and I couldn't help but wonder if there were any mice in the coffin.

"Dong dong dong..."

There was another sound, and I glanced at the six people on the ground, then took a deep breath, and bravely moved closer to the opened coffin lid. The person lying inside, as Wei Ziqing said, had his eyes open.

Yes, of course, I also saw...a hint of a smile on the corner of his mouth!
