Chapter Thirteen: Containment Thinking

Two squads of paladins gathered together to discuss their ideas for fighting the monster.

The two of them took out the magic interactive machine in their hands, which was an information exchange method equipped by the Paladin Legion.

Sheffield said first:

"First of all, look at the command record above. The Red Gate Army first sent a priest to persuade it to surrender, and then the monster became extremely manic."

"Assuming that this monster is some kind of mysterious thing, then we will assume that the priest does something that triggers his mania."

"Think carefully about what the pastor might have done?"

Cassel is also thinking and expressing opinions based on experience.

"As far as I know, most monsters hate humans. They must have sensed the approach of humans."

Sheffield shook his head.

"You can't think like this. If this kind of monster has such strength, then his perception must be very keen."

"The priest entered the alley less than 50 meters away from him. Not to mention other things, I could hear footsteps 100 meters away."

Cassel asked: "Maybe the monster wants to lure the priest into the alley to deal with it?"

"Luring? Master Lintam has been dealt with. Does this monster still need to be lured? He can't just kill whoever he wants to kill."

"So, we can definitely conclude that some of the priest's actions angered the monster."

"And all the priest does when he goes into the alley is walk, talk, and look!"

Several small groups of paladins gathered in the street, listening to Cassel's analysis.

"We'll rule it out before walking. We've analyzed it."

"If we talk... we still can't get around the previous issue, perception."

"With that monster's strength, if he can be angered by just talking, then everyone in the city will be talking all the time, and he can hear it."

"Then he should have gone on a killing spree long ago."

"So, there is only one answer left!"

"That is, the very act of "looking" offended the monster."

Everyone suddenly understood and seemed to realize the key to the problem.

Kassel had a feeling of enlightenment.

"I see, because we have all been told that "radiant gaze" can suppress filthy things."

"Most paladins would keep their eyes on this monster, only to be attacked by him."

"In other words, just looking at him will anger him."

"As long as you don't look at him, he won't attack."

"Once you look at him, no matter how strong you are, he will tear you apart!",

A young paladin smiled. He picked up his magic interactive machine and looked at the photos on it.

Even though the losses were serious, the paladins still took pictures of the shy man and transmitted them to the combat magic network.

The young paladin looked at the photo of the shy man and grinned.

"Tsk, let me pull up this guy's photo and take a look, haha. In other words, as long as we don't look at this monster, then he won't..."

Before he finished speaking, everyone heard footsteps like the wind.

The shy man is galloping this way for some reason.

"Everyone, close your eyes!"

Paladins are extremely obedient. As long as their superiors speak, they will obey without hesitation.

All the paladins closed their eyes.

But the sound of their heads being crushed like watermelons still reached the ears of Cassel and Sheffield.

The two people immediately started thinking in a panic.

Could this monster be intelligent?

He heard us discussing ways to fight him, so he came to silence us?

But before they could think too much, the footsteps left them again.

A legendary paladin hissed at the shy man.

"Monster, even if you tear me into cells, I will fight you to the end after healing."

There was another burst of one-sided fighting.

Only then did everyone open their eyes.

Scheifele asked Cassel:

"Our speculation has failed?"

Cassel shook his head.

"The person who died just now was my subordinate, and his behavior before death..."

"I was looking at the picture of the monster."

"Snapped!"

Without any hesitation, the divine magic interactive machine that fell to the ground was crushed into pieces.

Both of them looked gloomy, and they both realized the seriousness of the matter.

"This is just like chanting the Lord's name will attract the Lord's attention, and looking at that guy's photo will also attract his attention."

Cassel gritted his teeth.

"This information will be given to the higher-ups as soon as possible, which means that the higher-ups will also see the monster's photo album... Damn it, is this an incident that will wipe out all the upper echelons of our Holy See?"

Sheffield sighed and patted Cassel on the shoulder.

"My child, there is still room for recovery."

"Why do you say that?"

"The Glorious Holy See has launched a battle mode to deal with the evil god, and in this kind of battle, the appearance of the evil god will not be known to too many high-level officials."

"Because the evil god's information has a contaminating effect, we keep this experience in mind."

"So, there won't be many senior executives who have seen this photo."

"Besides... people who see this photo may not die."

Cassel was stunned for a moment, then asked: "How do you say this?"

Sheffield said:

"The legendary paladin said that he was torn into pieces once and was broken into cells, but he survived with his super self-healing power."

"During this period, the monster gave up its pursuit of the paladin."

"As long as you prepare a magical spell with a strong enough healing effect, you can unlock it by resurrecting after being torn apart by this monster."

"Now, Cassel, I have to ask you something."

Cassell nodded and said solemnly: "Mr. Sheffield, please speak."

Sheffield looked in the direction outside the encirclement, which was where the Pope who was present on the battlefield was located.

"Go to the Pope and tell him about it. If anyone stops you, say that Scheifele Nez has something to say to Thomson."

Kassel didn't have any ink marks at all, so he turned around and led the team away.

But before leaving, he still wanted to ask.

"Sheffield, what do you want to do?"

Sheffield took off all the paladin cloaks in the team and wrapped them into a large banner.

"I will deliver this news to everyone on the battlefield, and then wrap the monster with a cloak to prevent more innocent people from seeing him..."

"In this way, we should be able to temporarily control this monster."

Cassel nodded and said nothing more.

He knew that this was a life-threatening matter, but it was the duty of the paladin to face the danger head-on.

"Only the glory lasts forever!"

"Only the glory lasts forever!"

This is a unique word among Glory believers to wish each other to take care of themselves.

The two parted ways and disappeared down the street.

Sheffield closed his eyes and ran down the street based on what he heard.

His roar echoed through the streets!

"Everyone, don't look at monsters, don't look at monsters. The latest papal order, we don't look at monsters!"
