(10) Euphestein Miz

Yuffie woke up on a soft bed.

She felt like she was having a dream, but couldn't remember the content of the dream. She looked around with half-open eyes - the walls of the room were made of polished wooden boards, painted with colorless paint, and shone in the sunset.

To her right was another bed, covered with thick cushions and as neat as new. There were wooden cabinets, chairs and desks not far in front of her, with nothing on the table.

She was the only one in the room, and she had never been here before.

By the way, it seemed that someone wanted to take her away, and then Lin tried to fight him, and then herself...

Yuffie tried her best to sit up and found herself wearing a soft linen robe. She checked her body and found that the bloodstains and wounds in her memory were not there, nor was there any pain or discomfort.

Have you survived... or have you died? This is the world after death? The class mentioned that outside the world they live in, there are many infinite and vast spaces - they are called outer planes. Everyone

After death, the soul will be attracted to one of them, waiting there to be reborn or become a part of it forever.

Fortunately, this place doesn't look like hell, Yuffie thought to herself. She raised her arm and took a bite. She felt numb pressure in her arm instead of the pain it should have. She couldn't figure out what that meant.

Just put it behind you.

For now, she needs to confirm where she is - preferably not the residence of Cullen Dal, Yuffie said to herself, otherwise she will have to find a way to escape.

Yuffie put her feet on the ground and tried to stand up straight. Maybe she slept for too long. At first she felt a little dizzy and had difficulty controlling the movements of her body, but she soon regained her feeling. She recited a short sentence

The spell, the magic power intertwined into a silver net in the vision, turning into armor to protect her.

Being able to use magic gave her some confidence. The door to the room was not locked, so she carefully pushed it open and walked silently in the corridor with her bare feet.

There were several windows on one side of the corridor, with light green transparent glass. Looking out from there, it seemed like a busy street outside, and she was on the second or third floor of a building. She withdrew her gaze and walked along the corridor.

Another door appeared in front of her, and she knocked.

"Ah, you're awake, please come in." A warm and clear female voice came from the door, and it did not belong to anyone she was familiar with.

"Excuse me." She opened the door gently and met the eyes of the silver woman sitting at the table. "Excuse me...where is this place?"

"Roland Federation, Moonsong City, the lounge of the "Adventurer's Guild"." The young woman replied gently, "No one usually lives here. Did you sleep well?"

Yuffie nodded. It seemed that she was still alive. It was about four days' journey from the Water City to the Roland Federation. So those who saved her and brought her here must be the members of the "Guild".

"Thank you... and your companions." Yuffie put her hands on her chest, bowed slightly, and thanked each other in the manner of a witch. "What time is it today?"

"Well...it's the fourth day of the eleventh week of the Summer Moon."

The graduation test was the last day of the ninth week. A full nine days had passed since she lost consciousness in the academy. The strange thing was that she didn't seem to feel hungry or thirsty at all, not even weak. She again

Put the doubt away from her mind and ask the question that scared her.

"Excuse me..." Yuffie could clearly hear the nervousness in her voice. She felt her heartbeat was much faster than before, but her palms were still dry. "Have you ever seen... a girl with short blond hair?" she said.

She covered her chest with both hands, fearing that she would hear a desperate answer, "Her name is Lin."

The silver woman raised the corners of her mouth, and her encouraging smile soothed the girl's uneasiness.

"You did a great job, Yuffie. The amulet prevented her physical condition from deteriorating, and she is still alive." The woman slowly put away her smile, "However, she was seriously injured. The spell almost completely destroyed her internal organs. I

I can save her life, but I can't cure her."

Yuffie lowered her head and closed her eyes. She didn't know whether she should cry or laugh, and only let out a few strange sobs. She wished she was the one who got hurt - Cullen's target was her, and both Lin and Teacher Catherine were innocent.

She also understands that what has happened cannot be changed, and she must accept these facts and move on, taking their share together -

"I want to see her." She said softly but firmly.

A hint of appreciation flashed in the silver woman's eyes. She nodded and stood up from the table. "Follow me."

Yuffie followed her through the corridor. The woman briefly introduced her name and identity, walked down the stairs alone, and came back holding a long green Elna man.

She introduced Feist to Yuffie, and he apologized to her on behalf of Fanka - or Principal Eagle. Yuffie knew that it was not their fault. Her nose was a little sore, and she blinked, but

I found that I had no tears.

At other times, she would be very happy to meet these famous people and listen to them talk about some of the history they had personally experienced. Yuffie thought wildly.

They walked into a dark inner room. Hylanthia raised her right hand and prayed softly. A milky white ball of light emerged from her palm and floated to several corners, spreading soft light throughout the room. There was almost nothing in the room except for the lights.

A single bed against the wall.

Yuffie quickly walked to the bed, and her friend was lying there. The blood stains on Lin's body had been cleaned away. Not even a trace of blood could be seen on her face, and even her breathing was so weak that it was difficult to detect. Stars

Dots of golden light surrounded her, and she closed her eyes peacefully, as if she was asleep.

"Can I... touch her?" Yuffie asked in a low voice, as if she was afraid of waking her up.

Helencia nodded.

Yuffie carefully touched Lin's face. She couldn't feel her friend's body temperature, whether it was cold or hot. It didn't matter. Yuffie prayed silently in her heart, as long as she can recover her health and wake her up, no matter what -

Warm light spread from her palms and covered Lin's body - she did not use any magic. Yuffie looked back at the two people and found that they were looking at her with the same surprised eyes.

The light dissipated. Lin's eyelashes twitched and she slowly opened her eyes. She seemed a little confused at first, but then she gradually saw the person in front of her clearly.

"Yu... Fei?" She tried to raise her hand, but immediately gave up the attempt and let out a mournful cry, as if she was suffering from pain.

Halancia walked closer quickly, chanting in a clear voice, and the white-gold light slowly penetrated Lin's body. Lin's expression softened, she smiled weakly, and thanked the woman softly.

Yuffie looked at the palm of her hand and found nothing unusual. "What... happened just now?" She turned to ask Hylanthia.

"That is the power of healing." Hylanthia said briefly, "It seems that while changing your identity, you also gained part of Ada's power."

"Can I cure her?" Yuffie put her hand on Lin's forehead again, thinking about restoring her to health. The soft light lit up for a while, and then went out.

"Not now." Helencia grabbed Yuffie's hand to stop her from trying any more. "If you are willing, I can teach you the knowledge of divine magic. Before that..." She stared at Yuffie, "

Aren’t you curious about what’s going on with your body?”

Yuffie nodded. She did feel that something was abnormal about her body now, but she couldn't find a suitable explanation.

"During the battle at Eagle College..." Helenthia tilted her head, as if she was talking about an insignificant topic. "You died."

Lin took a deep breath. Yuffie blinked and found that she was not too surprised.

"We're not sure whether this was an accident or the other party's original intention." Feist walked to them and took up her words, "You are an undead creature now." He rubbed the corners of his eyebrows, "Alex

·The species created by Anderson Ada. It is said that he has always wanted to create the most perfect life, and this is one of his attempts."

"You no longer need to eat or drink, your body will absorb energy from the air. You can also recover faster from normal wounds." Pfister put down his hand, "But it's not perfect. Alex

Before perfecting it, his whereabouts were unknown together with Tiana Weiss Marr." He sighed and added, "More than three hundred years ago."

"Imperfect means..." Yuffie touched her arm, feeling as if there was a thick layer of fabric. "It's true that the touch is a bit strange, and the control of the body is not very comfortable..."

"You are not used to this body yet, and you will gradually get better in a few days." Feist looked at the girl, frowned, and continued, "The body of an undead creature may affect your soul. Maybe.

You will become less like yourself, or... lose your mind."

"Is there any way?" Lin looked at Yuffie worriedly and asked in a low voice.

Helencia shook her head. "Her body was shaped by the divine power of creation, and I can't change it." She turned to Yuffie, "However, if you learn divine arts, it is possible to stabilize your soul."

"It could be worse." Fister added, "If your situation is caused by Cullen, your use of healing magic may be in line with his thoughts." He thought for a moment, "When Fanka comes back, let him

Let me do a comprehensive examination for you and we should be able to clarify some of the reasons."

Yuffie thought quietly. No choice was better, so the answer was simple - just follow your own heart. The things she wanted to accomplish passed through her mind one by one, and then she made a decision in her heart

.

"Thank you." Yuffie looked at the two of them seriously, "I want to learn magical arts. And, after that, I will travel."

"Oh?" Helencia raised her eyebrows with a hint of interest in her voice. "Tell me about it."

"I want to find out the cause of this incident. Whether it is the undead creature, whether I will be attacked, or the truth hidden behind it." Yuffie's eyes were shining with light, which belonged to her desire for knowledge**

"This is my obligation and my right." She laughed, "After all, I am the client. And -"

She lowered her head and looked at Lin, who also looked at her. "We once agreed. I will help you realize your wish. Then I will come back here, heal your injuries, and then go out together." She said.

He knelt down and leaned his head against Lin's ear, "Trust me."

Lin nodded hard, tears falling silently from her cheeks, but a smile on her lips.

Helencia smiled with satisfaction.

"Let's do it like this." Feist shrugged, "I'll ask the Lilinono team to accompany you. If anything happens, they can take good care of you."

Yuffie stood up and bowed to the man to thank him.

"Okay, Yuffie's matter is over for now." Helencia clapped her hands and turned her eyes to Lin. "Then, now is your time to choose."

Lin's eyes seemed to light up. "...can I choose?"

"Of course." Helencia squatted next to Lin, put her elbows on the edge of the bed, and rested her chin on her folded hands. "You can wait for Yuffie to come back here. With her talent and hard work, it won't take long.

.During this period, I will keep your body alive, and you will sleep quietly until that moment, and then start traveling with her."

Lin gasped lightly, beads of sweat forming on her forehead. The magic used to relieve pain began to fail, and she ignored it.

"Then...what about the other one?"

"I will transform you into another creature with enough self-recovery power to heal your injuries." Helencia said softly, "This process is very dangerous and may be very painful. If it fails,

, you will lose your life."

"What if... it succeeds."

"You will gain strength and meet her sooner." Halanthia laughed, "It sounds a bit like the devil's words, but the decision lies with you."

Yuffie turned her head and met Lin's eyes again. She understood what Lin would choose, and she also understood that she would not dissuade her - that was Lin's own decision. She bit her lower lip, hiding her meaningless worries, and said to her friend

She nodded vigorously and sent her encouragement.

Lin closed her eyes and opened them again after a while. "I choose the latter." She looked at Hailancia, her voice was very soft, but without hesitation, "I want to move forward side by side with her. No matter whether I succeed or not, I

Won’t regret it.”

Helenthia pursed her lips, reached into her robe, and took out a small bottle. The bottle contained a golden liquid, which emitted a soft glow. Lin showed a happy expression. Yuffie felt a warm and comfortable feeling, as if she had returned to

In a familiar home, I was huddled by the fireplace, listening to my mother telling interesting stories.

"What is this?" Lin opened her eyes slightly.

That was the first time that Yuffie saw Hylanthia smiling so happily.

"Araksha's blood." The silver woman said happily, "He watched your and Yuffie's heroic performance. This is what you deserve."
