One evening in March, on the coast of the East China Sea, a middle-aged man was sitting in a restaurant near the sea, drinking red bayberry wine while looking at the sparkling waves on the sea in the distance. Under the setting sun, the fishing boats returning one after another,
Slowly docking, and then accompanied by the noise and the fishy smell of the sea, baskets of fish, shrimps, crabs and eels were dumped on the pier, jumping alive.
Although this middle-aged man looks older, his eyes are like those of a child, looking around. At this moment, he is imitating others, pointing to the basket of seafood brought back by the restaurant boy, pretending to be saying,
"Let's have a squid, two sea crabs, and a pound of white prawns." After saying that, he pursed his lips, as if he couldn't wait to feast.
After the dishes were served, the middle-aged man ordered another pot of bayberry wine. After a while, he was very drunk. He staggered out of the restaurant and came to the seaside. Facing the wind, he leaned on the railing and looked at
The dark sea was like a burst of vomiting. Then, as he staggered around, he saw a few men who looked like sailors coming from the opposite side. He stepped forward and grabbed one man's sleeve and shouted, "Shipman, how to get to Mount Putuo? How much is it?"
Silver?"
Those few people must have seen such drunken people often. They pointed at Wuxu happily, chatted and joked in dialect, and then pushed the middle-aged man away who was talking nonsense.
The middle-aged man swayed for a while, then reached out to grab another group of pedestrians.
This went on over and over again. Finally, a few people became impatient and thought the middle-aged man was a lunatic or a provocateur. They simply pushed him to the ground and walked away.
This middle-aged man is Wuxu.
That day, Wuxu performed the Heavenly Demon Dance with Zhao Tong, and then secretly formed an alliance with Liu Bowen and Xuanjizi. Then he said goodbye to Zhao Tong, left Chuzhou, and traveled day and night to Zhoushan on the coast of the East China Sea, intending to cross the sea to Mount Putuo. When he arrived at Linhai
At that time, I thought that I would cross the sea and land on the island tomorrow to visit Guanshiyin Bodhisattva's dojo, but I had broken the sexual precepts in this life at Zhao Tong, and I was very worried. That's why I took the drunken and crazy action just now.
An old man selling conches at a stall next to him saw Wuxu falling to the ground and motionless. For fear of causing death, he brought a bowl of water, came over, and poured it on Wuxu's face. Unexpectedly, Wuxu,
Suddenly he opened his eyes and looked straight at the old man. The old man was so frightened that he dropped the porcelain bowl on the ground and ran to the oil lamp in his stall. He just stopped and pointed at the middle-aged man who had climbed up.
The man said, "You young man is so clueless, why are you pretending to be dead in the middle of the night?!"
Wuxu stood there, laughing awkwardly and said, "I wasn't dead in the first place, I was just drunk. Thanks to your age and knowledge, I was still scared."
The old man muttered something in a low voice and waved his hand, signaling Wuxu to leave quickly.
At this moment, Wuxu, although he was drunk, staggering, and his mind was in a mess, he could see some things clearly and think clearly. He walked to the old man, took out a piece of gold, and placed it on the stall filled with conchs.
He said, "I just worked so hard for the old man to wash his face with water and broke a porcelain bowl. This piece of gold should be regarded as repayment and compensation."
The old man squinted his eyes and said, "This piece of gold is too valuable. You'd better give me a porcelain bowl in exchange for it."
Wuxu, who was too idle, sat down on the ground opposite the old man, passed the stall with one hand, picked up a conch, put it to his mouth, blew out a whine, and then put it down, "Don't say it's a porcelain conch.
The bowl is all the conches in your stall, old man. I'm afraid you can buy this piece of gold, right?"
The old man opened his eyes, took the conch that Wuxu had just blew with his mouth, took it into his arms, wiped it carefully with his sleeves, tremblingly, and said, "You are a young man, how can you be so big if you have a few stinky money? Old man
Now the porcelain bowl containing water was broken because of you, and I want you to pay for the porcelain bowl, can you do it?"
At this moment, it was getting late, and the shop selling porcelain bowls had long been closed. Wuxu couldn't help but frown, and touched his head habitually. After a while, he groped around all over his body, took out a mutton-fat jade bottle, and said, "It's not just porcelain bowls.
This can also hold water. It’s better than a porcelain bowl.”
The old man took the jade bottle of suet, then tremblingly took out a copper basin from behind, which was filled with clean water. While scooping it out of the jade bottle, he said, "Let's take a look, old man."
After the suet jade bottle was filled with water and held in the hand of the old man, after three breaths, cracks and fine lines appeared.
A few breaths later, in front of Wuxu's wide-open eyes, the mutton-fat jade bottle containing the elixir that Wuxu took out from the Sumeru Ring made a crisp sound, broke into countless small pieces, and fell into the copper basin.
, not a single splash.
Wuxu almost stood up, using secret spiritual power all over his body to force out the alcohol poison in an instant; but he saw the old man, still trembling, using a rag to sweep away the debris and water stains from the stall, and whispered, "
Did you think it was a good thing? It turns out it’s nothing more than that.”
Wuxu released his consciousness and saw that the old man in front of him looked no different. He was surprised in his heart. Knowing that he had met an expert, he stared at the opposite side for a long time, pointed to the basin of water and said, "The young monk is thirsty, can you drink some more water?"
"
The old man gave a rare smile and said, "You are a young man who speaks foul language, has long hair that reaches your waist, drinks wine and eats meat, and you still pretend to be a monk. Forget it, since you are drunk and thirsty, just bring a bowl to serve it."
Wuxu laughed and said, "What kind of bowl do you use to drink water?!" As he entered the Mandala Dharma Realm with his spiritual consciousness, he sat upright and held the seal, and saw a Buddha's head emerging in front of his body, with his mouth slightly opened.
The old man sat there, motionless, just smiling and looking at the copper plate containing water next to him.
The Buddha opened his mouth and sucked three times. The water in the copper plate was calm. Wuxu shouted loudly and stretched out his right hand to the copper plate, intending to scoop out some water with his palm. Who knows, this copper basin
It seems to be within easy reach, but it is out of reach. Even though I see my right hand reaching into the copper plate, it feels like there is nothing.
Wuxu immediately withdrew his right hand, and at the same time used the blue sea beads to secretly condense water droplets, which appeared in the palm of his hand. While bringing it to his lips, he said, "Such sweet water!" After saying this, he was about to inhale the water droplets from his palm, but he saw
The palm of the hand was empty, and the water droplets that appeared from the blue sea pearls had gone somewhere. Even the blue sea pearls in the Dharma Realm seemed to have lost their connection.
A vague voice sounded in the air, "Drunken people need clean water, break the precepts and ask for Buddhist Dharma, cross the sea of suffering, and there is no Taoist temple in Putuo."
Wuxu suddenly raised his head. The old man opposite had disappeared, and the stall seemed to have never appeared. Only the conch that Wuxu had picked up before, put it to his mouth and blew it, was still on the ground, motionless.
Those few words that sounded like a song but not a song, like a verse but not a verse, kept echoing in my ears. After looking at the night sky and being lost in thought for a while, Wuxu picked up the conch. His tentacles were slightly cool and the whole body was white. He put it to his mouth and gently
Breathe in gently, and the whining sound sounds slightly desolate, making people feel like they are in the sea, floating in uncertainty.
Who is this mysterious old man? He seems to be a Buddhist monk.
When I came east this time, I did come to Putuo Island to seek Buddhist teachings. Listening to his faint words, it seemed that I had already expected it, and even waited for me here specially; but if I didn't go to the beach and pretend to be drunk with wine, what would happen if I didn't go to the beach and pretend to be drunk?
If he fell on the ground there, he would not meet him at all; and if he was really expected to come and was waiting for him, why did he suddenly disappear?...
After thinking over and over again like this, Wuxu returned to his residence. He was puzzled and worried about Bihaizhu, who had lost his senses before. So he meditated, transformed his spiritual consciousness, and entered the Mandala Dharma Realm. However, he saw the Buddhist niche in the Dharma Realm Buddhist Hall.
Before, I couldn't see Bi Haizhu at all, and my heart skipped a beat, "No, this Bi Haizhu was tricked by the old man using some magic trick?"
This blue sea pearl has been one of the few things he has carried with him since leaving Miaofa Peak. It was originally a magic weapon refined by Elder Miaoyin of Hualien Miaofa Sect. Later, when he was expelled from Wuxu, he gave it to Wuxu, who was killed by Wuxu.
It was carefully refined in the Mandala Dharma Realm, and its owner was recognized by shedding blood. Later, it was warmed day and night in the Guanyin mural in the East China Sea of the Dharma Realm. Its power was greatly increased, and it could transform into a star sea lotus formation.
Once Wuxu lost it at this moment, he became anxious without realizing it. He followed the method of Hualien Miaofa Sect and silently explored it in his mind for a long time. Then he stood up with a suspicious look on his face and walked around the Buddhist hall to look around.
He murmured to himself, "It's strange. I just used some magic to search and found that the Blue Sea Pearl seems to be thousands of miles away and difficult to locate and control. But why do I feel that it is in this Dharma Realm Buddhist Hall?"
After walking around for a while, he found nothing. Wuxu looked around in disappointment, but suddenly discovered that in the mural on the left, the Guanyin sitting on the lotus throne seemed to have a circle of purple on his hand holding the purification bottle.
Wuxu stepped forward to take a closer look at the bracelet. It was clearly his own blue sea pearl, wound into four turns and hung on the hand of Guanyin Master in the mural.
Wuxu looked at the Guanyin Master in the mural. The Guanyin Master seemed to be looking at him with a smile on his lips. He was suddenly startled and took a few steps back. Wuxu hurriedly put his hands together and said respectfully, "Tonight, could it be that the Bodhisattva appears.
"He lowered his head and waited for a long time, but there was no sound. Wuxu raised his head again and looked at the mural, only to see Guanyin Master, with a wonderful and solemn appearance, but no blue sea beads in his hand.
Wuxu was silent, put his palms together and bowed, thought for a while, manifested an incense case, placed it in front of the mural on the left, took the conch into the Dharma Realm, and enshrined it on the incense case.
Early the next morning, Wuxu took a special bath, put on a plain gown, found a boatman at the pier, and headed for Putuo Island.
The boatman got the silver and worked hard. After dozens of miles of sea journey, he sent Wuxu to the edge of Putuo Island in half an hour. Wuxu thanked him and walked on the skateboard between the boat and the shore. The boatman suddenly said,
"Sir, you must come back in half an hour, otherwise you may miss the boat."
Wuxu took a quick step and set foot on Putuo Island. He smiled at the boatman and said, "No need, I want to stay on the island for a while."
The boatman, who was smoking a cigarette, patted his head in annoyance with the pipe and said to Wuxu, "Just now, because the guest was in a hurry, I was busy and forgot to inform the guest. This is Putuo Island.
It is very desolate. There is not even a decent temple, not to mention an inn. The lay people who come here usually come back immediately after burning incense and delivering firewood, rice, oil and salt."
Wuxu smiled and said, "That's it. Thank you boatman for your kindness. However, I would like to stay for a while."
Although the boatman was kind-hearted, he was also a businessman. When Wuxu said this, he didn't feel like saying anything. He just turned around and chattered while instructing the two men below to turn the boat around.
As Wuxu walked forward, he looked at the plants and trees on the island, and thought in his heart: "I didn't expect that the Haitian Buddha Kingdom in future generations would still be a pristine environment."
The boatman who turned the ship around shouted loudly again, "Sir, do you really want to stay on the island? There may be strong winds and waves in the past few days, and we will not go to sea. If you want to go back then, I'm afraid it's uncertain.
What day is it?"
Wuxu stood on a rock, turned around, and waved to the fishing boat that was going away.
Putuo Island, during the Southern Song Dynasty, was already a monastery dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva. Together with Mount Wutai, Mount Emei, and Mount Jiuhua, it is known as the four famous Buddhist mountains in my country. So, how could there be no temple as a shelter? This boatman must have wanted to Business is just nonsense.
Wuxu thought to himself, shook his head and smiled, and after walking for four or five miles, he saw a golden cornice peeking out from the green shade in front of him. Then he walked around a hillside and looked up to see the five "Baotuo Guanyin Temple"
Plaque with large characters.
There was a bit of joy in his heart, and he was about to step forward quickly, but two monsters jumped out of nowhere and stood in front of Wuxu. These two monsters were dressed in the clothes of a mortal government office. The one on the left was holding a big knife.
The one with the machete and the one on the right was holding an iron rod, looking at Wuxu up and down.
Wuxu looked at the two of them and said, "I wonder which gods and bodhisattvas you two belong to? I'm not Tang Monk. It's not delicious, and you can't live forever after eating it."
The monster with the machete on the left swung the machete in a circle and shouted loudly, "Is this your first time here? Don't you know the rules on this island?"
Wuxu said seriously, "This is indeed my first time for the young monk to visit the island. I don't know what the rules are?"
The green-haired monster on the right, holding an iron rod and swinging from side to side in front of Wuxu, ran up to Wuxu, sniffed it vigorously, then let out a hey, turned to his accomplice on the left and said, "Look at this guy's breath.
I ate the offspring of the two of them last night, and I didn’t expect that now I’m acting like a monk pretending to be a monk!”
When the monster with the machete heard this, he jumped up, sniffed hard, and then said to Wuxu fiercely, "Damn it, I did eat prawns in the sea last night. If it weren't for the cycle of heaven,
, God is so kind to life, I would have split you in half and thrown you into the sea to feed the shrimps!"
Wuxu looked at the green-haired monster carrying the stick and suddenly realized, oh, no wonder it was hunched over and shaking from side to side, it turned out to be a crab spirit. Last night, he did eat a pound of prawns and two crabs.
"Don't talk nonsense to him!" The green-haired crab spirit took out a storage bag and nuzzled at Wuxu, "A hemostatic pill, or jewelry of equivalent value, isn't it expensive?"
Wuxu saw that these two monsters were clearly asking for money for the trip, so he couldn't help but curiously asked, "When offering incense, the young monk will naturally make offerings. Does it mean that before the monk goes to the island to worship the Buddha and offer incense, he also needs to pay for the trip?"
The shrimp demon swung his big knife and shouted, "If it weren't for the island owner's repeated orders, I wouldn't just ask you to pay for the road today! If you want to be honest, will you give it or not -?"
"Island owner?" Wuxu asked hesitantly, pretending to be submissive.
"Have you heard of our East China Sea Alliance, the big island master, the great monk of the True Spirit, and True Lord Haoran?" The green-haired crab spirit proudly said to Wuxu, "Seeing as you are also a monk on the third level of the mortal world, you can't
You haven’t even heard of his old man’s name, right?”
Wu Xu was filled with righteous indignation, "But this is Putuo Island, the dojo of Guanyin Bodhisattva. How can you, the East China Sea Demon Alliance, set up private checkpoints here and charge fees?"
"What's wrong? A young monk who went out to sea actually dared to speak rudely and despise our East China Sea Alliance!" The green-haired crab spirit was so angry that he jumped up and down, blowing his beard and staring, with his hands on his hips, he said viciously to Wuxu.
, "I think you want to rebel!"
The shrimp demon cursed angrily, "Damn it, you want to go out to sea without giving me money, and you have to pay some favors when you set up a stall in the city! Are you looking for death?" He immediately slashed at him with a knife.
Wuxu turned aside, dodged over, stopped his anger, and asked in a deep voice, "I don't have any hemostatic pills, little monk. There are two luminous pearls here. Is it worth it?"
The green-haired crab spirit grabbed the two luminous pearls with a flying step. The shrimp monster next to it also put away its big knife, came up to the green-haired crab spirit, and divided one.
The two of them just played with the round and shiny night pearls in their hands, and then waved to Wuxu for a while, "Go, go, go."
Wuxu clasped his hands and asked, "May I ask you two, if you are an ordinary person and go to the island, do you have to pay this fee?"
The two monsters faced Wuxu with a smile that was uglier than crying, "What do you think?"
This place was already on the border of the East China Sea, and Wuxu didn't want to cause trouble and alarm the people of Dongji Island not far away. Faced with the two little monsters blocking the road and extorting money, Wuxu had no choice but to swallow his anger, take out two luminous pearls, and float away.
As he walked towards the Baotuo Guanyin Temple, his heart sank, "It seems that the situation on Putuo Island is not good. But I don't know what the scene is like in the temple? Guanyin Bodhisattva, why do you let it go?
Is the East China Sea Demon Alliance acting so recklessly?"
When I arrived at the mountain gate of Baotuo Guanyin Temple, I saw that the door was ajar. When I pushed the door open, I saw no monk. There were cobwebs everywhere and heavy dust. When I walked into the main hall, the oil lamps were extinguished, and there were only a few burnt incense candles in the copper furnace.
After passing the three Buddha statues on the front, and walking to the back, there is a statue of Cihang Pudu. Avalokitesvara is standing on a turtle, walking between the blue waves, soaring. Unfortunately, he is holding a pure bottle in his hand, but he does not know that it is the New Year.
It had been in disrepair for a long time and had been gnawed by mice and the like, and a small hole was missing.
Wuxu couldn't help but think of the scene last night when he used the mutton-fat jade bottle to scoop out the water from the old man's copper basin, but it broke into pieces in a short while.
Feeling sad and throbbing in my heart, I clasped my hands and worshiped, "The Bodhisattva is a Bodhisattva with no leaks or even no leaks. Why is the Taoist temple so dilapidated, with evil spirits in the way, and the purification bottle broken? Is it because you want to show the leaks to the monks and even all living beings?"
As the saying goes
This body breaks the rules and dreams of drunkenness. I ladle water from a copper basin and drink it from the blue sea.
Abandoning the ship and landing on the island, he endured the pass, and the Bodhisattva's pure vase showed that it was leaking.
