Chongshan City is actually an area with mountains and water. Wu Xu initially thought that it was called Chongshan City because of the many mountains, but in fact it was because there was an outer city that used the natural terrain to create a formation to cover it up. From Lu Zhishen’s words, he realized
Xu also learned that the border towns of the Great Zhou Dynasty, which were adjacent to the six major powers, all had similar layouts.
Lu Zhishen took Wuxu and flew forward. Like lightning, he landed directly in a heavily guarded courtyard. At this moment, Wuxu couldn't show his face. After the two chatted for a while, Lu Zhishen called the two leaders.
The sword guard led Wuxu to the place where he was staying.
When no one was around, Wuxu sat upright on the bed and released Li Xiaoer from the lotus lantern. Li Xiaoer looked around curiously, and then he knelt down and saluted Wuxu.
He stretched out his hand to stop it, "What did you see in the lotus lantern? What did you think?"
Li Xiaoer thought for a moment and then replied, "When I am in the lotus lantern, I see the boundless space. Fortunately, there is a little bit of Buddha's light, just like I am at the bottom of a heaven-given lake."
The nine-leaf green lotus lantern is now destroyed. It relies solely on the power of the faith and wishes of all sentient beings that Wuxu attracted from the sea sound snail to barely keep the wick alive, and there is still a faint light. There is a universe inside the lotus lantern, and Li Xiaoer
It is rare to be able to see this after being absorbed into it by enlightenment. "The Surangama Sutra of the Buddha's Top Tathagata Secret Causes, Cultivation and Realization of the Meanings of All Bodhisattvas' Ten Thousand Actions" says, "Follow the minds of all sentient beings and you should know how to measure them.
This is the principle of discovery through karma. If Li Xiaoer can say this, he truly has a predestined relationship with the Buddha.
Wuxu nodded and said, "At that time, many sentient beings said that those who believed in Buddhism and those who practiced Buddhism were all desperate. Because of despair, they gave birth to hope unreasonably. To put it simply, they felt that all four elements were empty.
But I found resonance and comfort in Buddhism, and then I transcended the world and re-invigorated my spiritual practice. I'm afraid it's the same when you see the boundless space in the lotus lantern."
Li Xiaoer replied respectfully, "Master, it is indeed the case. I have lived with my parents in Kaizhou Town since I was a child. Unexpectedly, I was alone in the lotus lantern. I felt endlessly groggy and silent. It was like falling into the sea at night. It was terrifying.
Help. Fortunately, there is a little bit of Buddha's light. Although it is far away and weak, it can revive the disciples' hope in despair."
Wuxu sighed slightly and said, "That's so good! That day, in the lotus lantern, between life and death, I vaguely saw you approaching, and I had all kinds of hopeful assumptions. I didn't hope that you would come to save me, but that you would come to save me.
He is also a person who has a predestined relationship with Buddha. It is not because you are living in poverty and poverty that you believe in Buddhism; it is not because you are born with a disability.
Only those who are deaf and blind believe in Buddhism; it’s not that you can’t find love and hate because of love, so you believe in Buddhism; it’s not that you believe in Buddhism because you have all kinds of troubles and feel that the four elements are empty; it’s that you have planted good roots for hundreds of thousands of kalpas, and the timing is the same.
When I arrived, I believed in the Buddha, believed in the cycle of cause and effect, and that all living beings suffer, and made the vow to save all sentient beings."
Li Xiaoer couldn't help but feel a bit sad when he heard what Wuxu said, "Although my disciple's family is not just a family, they often suffer from hunger. Although my disciple is not deaf or blind, his parents are getting old and suffering from illness.
Master said something like this today. Disciple, please think about it carefully.
, but it is also the same truth. That day, my old mother scolded me because she saw me sleeping a little late and wasting some lamp oil. I felt depressed and aggrieved. I remembered that someone once fished something valuable at the bottom of the lake, and I didn’t know.
Unexpectedly, I swam to the bottom of the lake."
Speaking of this, Li Xiaoer glanced at Wuxu hesitantly and asked cautiously, "Master, do you think this disciple is not qualified?"
Wu Xu was silent, crossed his legs and picked up his fingers. After a moment, he slowly said, "The World Honored One said that all living beings suffer. If you don't feel suffering, how can you develop good roots and have Buddhahood? What I said before means exactly what you said before.
As it is said, you can believe in Buddhism in hardship and even despair, but you cannot cultivate Buddhism in this way. You must resurrect hope in despair.
Cultivate Buddha." After a pause, he continued, "Buddha said that all living beings are suffering and the four elements are empty. People in the world often say that entering Buddhism is to escape into Buddhism, despair, failure, helplessness, and passive avoidance of the world. If this is really the case, how can I lead you into it?
Buddhism has caused you to become negative and sinking at a young age. You only know suffering and escape, like a walking corpse."
"Look at what I look like now. Have I ever been in a state of despair and hiding from the world?" Wuxu pointed at himself, and specially pointed at the earring in his left ear.
Li Xiaoer, seeming to understand but not understanding, replied, "Master, the Dharma is so profound that we won't have those mundane worries anymore."
"Idiot, I haven't understood it yet." Wu Xu sighed secretly and had to say, "I am lazy and unwilling to accept disciples. If we are destined, we will go together. Starting today, I will give you lectures on sutras and help you enter the practice.
World, when the time is right, you can leave freely."
Li Xiaoer immediately knelt down and kowtowed.
Wuxu accepted it calmly and only said, "The Dharma should not be taught lightly. The great gift you gave today can be regarded as a tribute to Buddhism and worship to the Buddha. In the future, you and I will not have to do this." After that, Li Xiaoer took it in.
After entering the Mandala Dharma Realm, recite the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra.
The secret teaching said at the end, "When the World-Honored One passed away, there were four following Dharma left, 'Dharma but not people, meaning but not words, wisdom but not knowledge, meanings but not meanings'. What I am saying today is,
It’s just what I say, you must not blindly follow superstition.”
Li Xiaoer was frightened and said, "How can I disrespect my master's teachings?"
Wuxu waved his hand, "All living beings are equal, they all have Buddha nature, and they are all future Buddhas. The difference between you and me is only fifty steps and a hundred steps. If you are uncomfortable and don't dare not to call me directly, you can just call me senior brother."
.What the senior brother said are his insights and experiences, and they are just a temporary reference for you. In the end, you have to rely on your own heart to continue on this path of cultivation."
In this way, Wuxu secluded himself in the residence arranged by Lu Zhishen. Daily meals and other chores were taken care of by himself, so Wuxu didn't have to worry about it. Lu Zhishen seemed to be busy with official duties, so he didn't bother to contact him. Wuxu was happy to be free.
While sorting out his thoughts, he taught Li Xiaoer the Sutra and Dharma.
On the third day, Wuxu finished lecturing Li Xiaoer on the Heart Sutra and said to him again, "This sutra is extremely extraordinary. Although it is short in length, its every word is precious and its connotation is extremely profound and broad." Li Xiaoer nodded.
Wuxu immediately changed the subject and said, "Explanation
It is impossible to say. In the past few days, I have been talking about this sutra for you, and I will stop here for now. It is just an introduction, just like planting a seed in your heart. You should always recite and recite it in the future, and compare it with yourself.
, naturally, there will be a reaction."
Li Xiaoer lowered his head and thought for a while, then asked, "Senior brother, how should I examine myself?"
When Wuxu heard this question, he couldn't help but think about it, and then answered, "The so-called recitation and upholding at all times and self-contemplation means always reciting and upholding the sutra and memorizing its meaning, and using this sutra's meaning to meditate on one's own five yin and five aggregates. Since you
Mentioning this point, I have to mention another point. That is qualifications and opportunities. We who practice Buddhism also attach importance to qualifications. The so-called qualifications, in short, are the karma and karma of the past and present lives.
within the various forms
External foundations and conditions, or factors. For example, if you want to study wisely, you must have certain financial resources and intelligence, a good environment and teachers, good theoretical knowledge and good learning methods, etc. This
Factors such as these vary according to circumstances and karma, and vary from person to person. When we practice Buddhism, we have to develop faith in our hearts, accumulate and improve these with various paramitas, and then strive for opportunities to practice our Dharma."
Li Xiaoer asked again, "What are the various paramitas?"
Wuxu replied, "There are six paramitas, which are called 'giving, observing precepts, patience, diligence, meditation, and prajna'."
Li Xiaoer, with a puzzled look on his face, asked again, "Giving alms? Senior brother, didn't you just say that you should accumulate and improve all kinds of resources, such as financial resources, environment, teachers, etc., why did you say that you should give away alms?"
After listening to this, Wuxu solemnly said, "Pagans or secular people have quite a misunderstanding of the essentials of Buddhism.
Some people say that Buddhism passively avoids the world, and all sentient beings suffer, and the four elements are empty and dark; some people cast golden Buddhas, burn incense in their heads, and pray for the blessings of Buddha and Bodhisattva to be promoted and wealthy, live a long life, and have all their wishes come true; and so on.
, the poison is very widespread. Although my practice is still shallow, since you have this question, I will take this opportunity to clear up all kinds of misunderstandings for you."
"Let's talk about giving first. The so-called giving includes Dharma giving, financial giving, and fearless giving. Its retribution is very great. One is to break the obsession of the ego, and the other is to benefit all living beings. This is self-interest and altruism, the dual cultivation of blessing and wisdom, and then the three principles of precepts, concentration and wisdom.
You have enough knowledge. The so-called roses given to others have lingering fragrance in your hands, and behind them are your destiny and your karma."
"Furthermore, all living beings are suffering. Some shallow people will say that Buddhism is negative and gloomy based on this, but they do not know the profound meaning of the words of the World Honored One. There are eight sufferings in life: birth, old age, illness and death, not being able to seek what you want, being separated from love, meeting resentment and hatred, and the five negative emotions are strong. This
This is also the expedient explanation given by the World Honored One. The so-called suffering is actually caused by the ignorance of all living beings.
It's all suffering. In the past few days, when you recite the Heart Sutra, you should know that there are no eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body or mind, and no color, sound, fragrance, or touch. However, all living beings are attached to the sight, sound, fragrance, touch, and cannot control themselves. They have confused thoughts, fear in their hearts, and sink into the sea of suffering.
This is the suffering that the World-Honored One spoke of. Back then, there was a man in the world named Su Dongpo. There was a poem that said, 'I have always regretted that this body is not mine, when will I forget about camp?' This is an example."
"Let's talk about the four elements being empty. If we talk too much about the four elements being empty, all living beings will think that whatever the World Honored One says is empty, then what's the point of my life? Why not all die? In fact, it's totally wrong. The so-called emptiness is not nothingness, but change.
, movement, after all, is not your fundamental. The four major elements, and even everything, are constantly changing and moving, so you may be rich today and poor tomorrow.
We may be healthy today but sick tomorrow. In spring, summer, autumn and winter, birth, old age, illness and death are the natural laws of the universe we live in. We must face this physical body calmly, and even all other changes and vicissitudes. This is emptiness. There are hundreds of flowers in spring.
There is a moon in autumn, a cool breeze in summer, and snow in winter. They are all external objects, even our physical bodies, which are changing and moving. They are not our root. This is emptiness."
"Moreover, Nirvana is pure. The World Honored One stays in this world, preaches the Dharma and enlightens all living beings, and then passes away in Nirvana. We cannot lie. I will just say today that if we succeed in cultivating Buddha, we will be transcendent and free. But people of heretics and ordinary people
, but they speculated on their own. There is a joke, two farmers are
While chatting in the field, one person said that if I became the emperor, I would work with a golden hoe every day. The other person laughed and said that now that I have become the emperor, why would I still have to work? I would eat roasted sweet potatoes on the kang every day. This is a joke.
But it can be used to confirm one or two. If we can achieve tolerance, Nirvana
If Pana is pure, how can it be involved in the five yin, five aggregates and six consciousnesses for no reason? How can it be like those superficial and lost people who continue to seek form, sound, fragrance and touch? Only those who have great aspirations to save all sentient beings.
, such as World Honored One Tathagata, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva
Saṃsāra, etc., for the sake of expediency. When we practice Buddhism, we are not seeking wealth, not seeking an official position, not seeking long life for our physical body, or seeking great supernatural powers. These are all spinning around in the illusion of reincarnation.
, when we practice Buddhism, what we cultivate is the true self, and what we seek is freedom.”
Finally, Wu Xufu solemnly said to Li Xiaoer, "We who practice Buddhism must remember two sutras, two sentences, and two stories. The so-called one sutra is the Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra and the Diamond Sutra.
"Prajnaparamita Sutra"; the so-called two sentences are "Golden Sutra"
"All sages are differentiated by the unconditioned dharmas" said by the World-Honored One in "The Immortal Sutra", "All conditioned dharmas are like bubbles in a dream, like dew or lightning, and should be viewed as such". The so-called two stories are "Wonderful Dharma"
The metaphor of the burning house and three chariots in the Lotus Sutra is the metaphor of a good doctor."
Maybe Li Xiaoer heard Wuxu's long talk there, and seemed to have some understanding, but also seemed to be more confused. Wuxu saw this in his eyes, and did not blame him, so he could only say, "It's useless to talk more, let's go out for a walk."
Take a walk and have a look. As the saying goes, it is better to travel thousands of miles than to read thousands of books. It is better to get up and practice it than to sit and discuss the truth."
Wuxu then took Li Xiaoer out and took a walk. This time, not to mention Li Xiaoer, but Wuxu, it was as if Grandma Liu had entered the Grand View Garden.
Li Xiaoer, who came from a remote country, saw the hustle and bustle. Clean and wide roads, towering pavilions, all kinds of delicious food, and people in all kinds of clothes. There was an endless stream of people standing at the door of the restaurant.
Tong also looks extraordinary...
Wuxu comes from the human world, and sees that ordinary people coexist, and good and evil coexist. Ordinary people and spiritual practitioners, monks and Taoists, and monsters and monsters all walk in the same way, coexisting in harmony without interfering with each other. This seems to be a
A world where all living beings are equal. Regardless of ordinary people or practitioners, regardless of the so-called righteous people or evil people, it seems that they are just the rulers of the Great Zhou Dynasty.
A member of the lower class is controlled and protected by the laws of the Great Zhou Dynasty. Whether it is a Buddhist cultivator, a Taoist cultivator, a Confucian cultivator, a demon cultivator, a demon cultivator, or a ghost cultivator, it is just like the rule of the Great Zhou Dynasty.
Below, the different compositions or roles seem to have the feeling that they are "just different divisions of labor in the revolutionary cause." At least in this urban area.
Wuxu and Li Xiaoer walked slowly, looking around with astonishment.
On the street, there are all kinds of beings, just like a masquerade party in later Western countries. They wear strange clothes and speak various languages. Of course, there are also some who remain silent and communicate purely with their spiritual consciousness. There are also horse-drawn carriages, ox-carts, and even dragons and snakes in the middle.
The carts pulled by the reptiles may be simple or engraved with complicated and gorgeous patterns, and they can even be seen as powerful prohibitions at first sight. From time to time, soldiers in uniform armor patrol back and forth in groups of three to five.
On a street, an old Taoist with an immortal spirit and a fluttering white beard was playing chess with a middle-aged female ghost cultivator with a pale face and ghostly aura. Surrounded by some ordinary people and strange monks,
They gathered around and watched. On the upper floor of a restaurant next door, there were two Confucian monks, a monk and a demon monk with a horse head, drinking wine by the window and talking quietly about something.
Scenes like this can be seen everywhere.
After a while, Wuxu put away his expression and asked Li Xiaoer calmly, "Do you think there is any difference between this Chongshan City and your town?" Li Xiaoer looked around, sighed and murmured.
He replied like he was mumbling to himself, "They are completely different. One is like heaven and the other is underground."
"Oh?" Wu Xu said, "What's the difference? It's just that the clothes are a little weirder and more gorgeous, the building is a little higher, the road is a little wider, and there are more people. Other than that, are there any differences?"
"
Li Xiaoer knew that Wuxu was taking the opportunity to teach, but he thought about it, looked at it, and said, "Brother, there are still many differences. For example, these monks are actually so close to ordinary people.
No airs at all.”
Wu Xu said, "What is the difference between these monks and ordinary people? They have the same body, the same seven emotions and six desires, the same joys, anger, sorrows, and the same birth, old age, sickness and death. Monks will fly in the sky like birds. You will envy birds in the town.
Son? When you are in the town, you may only see monks standing tall, but you don’t know that monks can also be bullied and killed by others. "
"But monks can not only walk, but also fly. They are better than ordinary people because they have more of them. Although this monk will be bullied or even killed by that monk, they will not be bullied by ordinary people.
But it can only be that they bully ordinary people?" Li Xiaoer thought for a while and answered again.
"Indeed, monks can not only walk but also fly." Wu Xu pondered, "But this is what they spend a lot of time and resources on practicing. But, do you know that in some Saha world, ordinary people,
Can you also fly in the sky at a certain price?"
Li Xiaoer has never been to the world where Wuxu's future lives are, so naturally he doesn't know about it and can't understand it.
Wuxu's eyes became profound, "In some Saha worlds, ordinary people can go to the sky and into the sea, split mountains and cut off rivers, travel thousands of miles a day, send messages from all directions, and kill monks with high level of cultivation."
Li Xiaoer listened quietly and remained silent. Although he had great respect for Wuxu, he had never experienced it and could not believe it. After thinking about it, he asked again, "If this is really the case, then I'm afraid
Those Saha worlds have already realized the world
All living beings are equal as Zun said? Here, although monks cannot bully or harm ordinary people without reason, after all, they can only be in places like Chongshan City, and they still rely on the laws of the Zhou Dynasty, not the ordinary people themselves.
ability."
After hearing this, Wuxu was stunned for a moment. In the future world where Wuxu comes, if all living beings are equal, it is just a Buddhist saying. If it is said to be realized as Li Xiaoer said, it may not be true. The rich bully the poor.
Officials bully ordinary people, good-looking people look down on mediocre ones, educated people look down on illiterate people, people who drive Mercedes-Benz look down on people who drive Mazda...
"All living beings are equal and possess Buddha-nature." Wuxu sighed deeply in secret and said leisurely, "Five fingers have lengths. When it comes to appearance, they are different after all. But appearance is illusion, not the fundamental thing. If you are attached to
foreign minister
As for equality, in terms of Buddhism and practice, it is wrong. It should be noted that we practice Buddhism in order to break through all external appearances. After all, we are empty and have no residence, escape from the sea of suffering, no longer confuse illusions, and finally
Be at ease."
"I should keep in mind what my senior brother said. But among the Buddhist scriptures that my senior brother gave me yesterday, in the "Buddha Speaks of Infinite Life Sutra", Amitabha Buddha made a vow, and there are lines like this: "If I become a Buddha, there will be countless and inconceivable Buddha worlds in the ten directions."
, there are women who, upon hearing my name, rejoice in belief and have bodhicitta, hate the female body, and after dying, become a female image again.
If you don't achieve enlightenment, you are saying that women are inferior to men? And in the "Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's Original Vow Sutra", there are similar passages saying that women are inferior to men, and there are also treatment methods for various diseases and hardships. Since all living beings are equal, why?
Are there women who are inferior to men? Also, as my senior brother said the other day, "We don't care about each other." Why do you still say that reciting the Buddha's name, worshiping the Buddha, and cultivating the Buddha will eliminate disasters and solve problems?"
Wuxu immediately replied, "That's good! If you can ask like this, it's not in vain for me to lecture you on the sutra for several days. Before, I solved all kinds of misunderstandings for you. Now, I'm going to get rid of another misunderstanding for you, saying that you can practice Buddhism by reading sutras.
Among the Buddhist scriptures I gave you yesterday, have you ever read the Lotus Sutra?"
Li Xiaoer nodded.
Wuxu asked again, "Then do you remember the metaphor of the burning house and three cars that I mentioned?"
Li Xiaoer nodded again.
Wuxufu added, "The metaphor of the burning house and the three chariots, the metaphor of the good doctor, and even the entire metaphor chapter in the Lotus Sutra all talk about the two words "convenience" in Buddhism. The destiny of all living beings and the retribution of karma.
, roots, organs, etc. are all different, and in the world
, the World-Honored One preaches, in order to save all living beings, there is a target, just like the Confucian school teaches students according to their aptitude. Seeing that all living beings are suffering, seeing all kinds of suffering, they use various convenient methods and teach various methods. Therefore, there are women who turn into men, and diseases and hardships are all
The saying of sweeping everything away.”
Having said this, Wuxu Fufu became solemn again, "Therefore, I want you to remember to recite and recite the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra and the Vajra Prajnaparamita Sutra. Then you will know that many chapters in many classics are random teachings.
, Convenient Dharma. There are many sentient beings who take the Four Refuges, recite sutras, and practice, but they are still attached to it and cannot live without the appearance of self, the appearance of people, the appearance of sentient beings, and the appearance of living beings. They cannot understand that the Buddha's teachings are often random and random."
Having said this, Wuxu let out a long sigh and said, "Today, I will take you to walk in Chongshan City and teach you the Dharma based on the various appearances in the city. It is through these external appearances that I can facilitate the Dharma."
Li Xiaoer only realized that he was in the clouds and fog, and was at a loss.
Seeing this, Wuxu had no choice but to stop the topic for the time being. The World-Honored One once said, "A person who teaches the Dharma has nothing to say."
Just as Wuxu was sighing, two armored soldiers came to Wuxu and Li Xiaoer and asked for identification.
Wuxu followed Lu Zhi deep into the city. Lu Zhishen, as the Fuhu General of the Zhou Dynasty, was also ordered to be the welcoming envoy to Chongshan City to wait for the demon clan delegation. His status was particularly noble, so he took Wuxu into the city.
Naturally, it is unobstructed. But after realizing the truth and ascending to the outer heaven, he will be in the Tiger Valley as if he were washing in the future.
The American stowaway on the plate coincided with the monster competition. He left the Tiger Valley and met Lu Zhishen. He was supposed to secretly infiltrate the monster mission as a monster monk, but what kind of identity did he have? Li Xiaoer is just a young boy from a remote village.
, hidden in the lotus lantern, followed Wuxu, came to Chongshan City, and became a black man.
Identity certificate? Wuxu, who was wearing the pendant, clasped his hands and asked, "We are the distinguished guests of Fuhu General Hua and Monk Lu Zhishen, but I don't know if he, Lu Zhishen, has obtained the identity certificate for us to enter Chongshan City?"
I have to say that Fuhu General Hua and Shang Lu Zhishen's name is quite useful. The two soldiers immediately frowned and looked at each other, and then the older one said to Wuxu, "In that case
, wait a moment, you two." As he spoke, the armband of the soldier next to him flashed a few times, as if a message was being sent.
Not long after, the armband flickered a few more times, and the soldier looked embarrassed, and whispered a few words to the older soldier. The older soldier then turned to Wu.
Xu nodded, and then said to Wuxu kindly, "We have confirmed the identity of Master Dai Shui. It's just this young man?..."
The person they asked must not be Lu Zhishen himself, as only Wuxu's identity was confirmed. Li Xiaoer, who passed by such a prosperous city, was stopped in the street by uniformed people for inspection. Hearing the words of the older soldier, his face suddenly showed a panicked look.
His whole body started to tremble slightly, he grabbed Wuxu's hand and looked at Wuxu nervously.
Wuxu squeezed Li Xiaoer's hand hard, smiled at the two soldiers and said, "He is my fellow junior."
At this moment, Li Xiaoer had not really entered into cultivation yet, and he had a worldly air. He also looked flustered and was in a hurry.
The two soldiers looked at this and suddenly showed obviously troubled expressions.
Seeing this, Wuxu had no choice but to choose two items from among the trophies he had obtained by stealthly attacking and killing several demon cultivators in the land of the demon clan, and handed them to them.
They each received one without leaving a trace, and then handed two slender metal nameplates to Wuxu and Li Xiaoer.
After Wuxu took it, he shared it with Li Xiaoer and put a nameplate on the half-length monk's robe. Then he pointed at it and smiled at Li Xiaoer, "This is convenient. I took out Lu Zhishen's name.
It is convenient. It is also convenient to say that you are my fellow disciple; these two nameplates are also convenient given to us by others."
As the saying goes:
Only by getting rid of all kinds of misunderstandings and understandings can we know all kinds of kindness and compassion.
I, the Buddha, have opened the door of convenience to help people everywhere.
Recently, my father has been ill and has been very seriously ill. If there are people who share the same path and are able to recite the Buddha's name and dedicate it to him, I will be extremely grateful and will certainly recite the sutra and dedicate it to him.
Namo World Honored Sakyamuni Buddha!
Amitabha!
Namo, the Great Merciful and Great Compassion, saves the suffering and the vast inspiration, Guanshiyin Bodhisattva, Mahasattva!
