If we are to be honest, any girl would be jealous of Lena, and the same goes for Hermione. But it is not because of the girl's beauty and intelligence, but because of the girl's excellent popularity. There are always a lot of people around her.
"I'm not among the crowd all the time." Lena smiled even more happily, "Hermione, my friend, tell me, what are you looking at?"
Hermione whispered the name of the book. Lena was one of the few people who was kind to her. But many times, her kindness would be used as a reason for bullying by her so-called buddies and friends.
So Hermione was both excited and scared about her arrival.
""The Great Wizard of the Twentieth Century", oh, are you looking for someone?"
Hermione originally planned to deny it, but felt that it was not necessary, so she replied generously: "I want to find Nico Flamel. I heard that he is a very famous wizard, and I am very curious about him."
"Ah, Nico Flamel." Lena nodded, with an expression on her face that seemed to know something.
"You know him?" Hermione asked tentatively.
"Of course I know him. Although I'm not very familiar with him, I know a little bit about him."
Hermione opened her eyes wide and looked at Lena expectantly.
The beautiful girl laughed again, "I will tell you about your Nico Flamel, but before that, I also need a favor from you."
"What is it? As long as I can do it."
"Of course you can do it, it's very simple." Lena took out a photo from her pocket and put it on the book.
Then he whispered: "You and Mr. Xing Ze had dinner together, right?"
"Yes, it happened several days ago? You took a photo of us? Why?" Hermione saw the contents of the photo clearly, and doubts arose in her heart.
Lena didn't answer her question, but asked: "What do you think of him, Hermione?"
"Who? Oh, you mean Mr. Xing Ze? He is a very good person, except that sometimes his words are too profound and sarcastic."
"No, you are wrong." Lena stretched out her hand and gently held Hermione, and waves of warmth came from her flawless white hands, "He is not a good person."
"Lena, what's wrong with you?" Hermione frowned, and the other party's actions and words surprised her.
"Believe me, Hermione, he's lying to you. He's a well-dressed hypocrite."
"No, Lena!" Hermione withdrew her hand and said seriously, "Stop saying that. Take back those words and pretend I didn't hear anything."
"I always thought you were a smart girl. If you don't believe it, then take a look at this again." Lena took out another photo, the one where Xing Ze beat up Welfare.
"Look at that man's true face." She said, with anger and worry on her face.
While Hermione was still in shock, Lena continued: "Did he do anything to you?"
Hermione stared at the photo, took a deep breath and said, "What do you mean?"
"Did he threaten you, Hermione? Did he force you to eat with him? Or did he do something else?"
"No, stop it, Lena, stop it." Hermione stood up suddenly and shouted, her voice quickly attracting Mrs. Pince's attention.
"What's going on here?" asked the stern librarian, his hands on his hips.
Since Hermione was a frequent visitor to the library and always kept herself to herself, she did not ask the girl out immediately.
"It's nothing, madam." Lena had already put the photo in her pocket, "She was just scared by the bugs."
"Insects? Where are they?" Mrs. Pince raised the feather duster in her hand, "Say quickly."
"Fly away, madam, in that direction." Lena pointed to a place casually, with an impeccable smile on her face.
After Mrs. Pince left with murderous intent, the girl turned to Hermione and said: "Sit down, Hermione, don't be so nervous. As a wizard, you can't make a fuss, otherwise you will not be able to cast spells."
Hermione returned to her seat and said quietly but firmly: "I don't believe that Mr. Xing Ze is not such a person."
"Poor girl, you must have been brainwashed by that vicious man. You see the facts, but you still argue for him. Why?"
"I won't believe it unless I see it with my own eyes."
"What kind of delusion did he fill you with?" Lena's tone darkened. "Do you still want to know the information about Nico Flamel? This is very important to you, right?"
"I, I will do it myself..."
"Don't refuse me in a hurry, Hermione. Let's make a deal. As long as you admit that the man threatened you, I will reveal Nicolas Flamel's secret."
"No way, I can't open my mouth and tell lies."
"What a naive idea. Everyone lies, Hermione, everyone, not to mention that this is a white lie, which can help us eradicate the scum of a society."
"I said never, Lena."
"Think again, Granger." Lena put away her dignity and elegance, "Help me, I can let you get what you have always dreamed of, stand in the spotlight and become a noticeable person like me.
"There will be a lot of people following you, whether they are pure blood or half blood, just like me. This is what you ask for, Hermione, don't hide your true nature.
"You raise your hand again and again in class, answer questions again and again, and get praise from the teacher again and again. Everyone likes this. You can steal the show on people's faces and make people like you.
"But let me tell you, you have failed. Look around you. Who is your true friend? The boy who is called the Boy Who Lived? And that idiot from the Weasley family?"
"That's enough, don't say that to Ron." Hermione tried her best to suppress the anger in her heart.
"Then do you dare to deny it? Hermione, you have never been jealous or envious of me?"
Hermione was overwhelmed by Lena's domineering look. She was frightened. The beautiful girl in front of her made her feel like she was facing Mrs. Pince, no, the more sarcastic Mrs. Pince.
After a brief silence, Hermione stood up again and said coldly: "I don't deny it. I also have to thank you, Lena, for letting me know how superficial I used to be.
"Someone told me: There are always people in this world who will appreciate you, understand you, and care about you. I am very lucky to have found them, but it is a pity that you did not.
"You know better than me what the reasons are for those who follow you, and you have never regarded them as true friends. I do envy you, but now I only have pity."
Before Lena could make any excuse, Hermione hurriedly left with the book in her arms. The pretty girl's face was so angry that she almost twisted it, and she cursed in a vicious whisper: "Damn Mudblood!"
