Chapter 193: The lurking shadow

What Ali Shafiq did not expect was that there was such a room hidden in the basement of the hospital.

There are humanoid bodies of different shapes floating in the rows of upright nutrition tanks. Some of them have three arms, some have tails, and some have completely imbalanced figures.

But these bodies all have one thing in common: they all have no brains. To be precise, their heads are all opened.

This not only reminded Ellie of Ackerman's words - the invisible church is creating a perfect body, a body that can resist the pollution of dreams.

Thinking of this, she couldn't help but whisper: "Merlin's beard."

"That's right, I almost peed my pants when I first came in." Martin Skrtel said, even though it was a joke, neither of the two people present could laugh.

Ellie continued to walk forward, she raised her wand and followed. This place made her deeply uncomfortable, and the Sheriff, he never put down his gun.

There is a small anatomy room directly in front of the room, and someone is obviously working here.

On a clean table, there are several storage tubes placed side by side. The thing soaked in the green liquid is probably a human brain.

"Although I don't know what this place is used for." The Sheriff did not look at the brains, "but it is definitely not used to treat diseases. I think even you wizards don't need to take out the brains, right?"

The eldest lady took a deep breath to calm down her mood. She said urgently: "We have to leave here. Everyone in the hospital is in danger. We must find a way."

Ellie felt a moment of despair. Unexpectedly, the hospital she worked so hard to guard was actually the experimental base of the Sabbat Order.

And the entire hospital has been infiltrated, which means that when Reko and the others come here, it will be equivalent to throwing themselves into a trap. She must remind them that the hospital is not safe.

At this moment, the eldest lady thought of Xing Ze, that lunatic who did things haphazardly. He acted recklessly and did not follow routines, but he could save the day every time.

To be honest, she really envied that lunatic.

But now, she is isolated and helpless, with only a Muggle Sheriff beside her. Although he is quite outstanding among Muggles, he may not be of much help in a head-on battle with wizards.

At some point, she had become accustomed to following Xing Ze's rhythm. As long as he was around, she wouldn't even feel much pressure because he could always think of a solution.

"Hell." The eldest lady smiled bitterly, "I was too deeply poisoned by him. Okay, then think about it, what would the lunatic do if he were here?"

However, before she could think of a solution, there was a sound of footsteps.

Skrtel immediately pointed his pistol in the direction of the visitor, and Ellie also raised her wand and began to prepare a simple spell.

The person who came was wearing a white coat and was about fifty years old. He wore a pair of reading glasses and his white hair was neatly taken care of.

"The banquet hasn't started yet, you two, you are in the wrong room. This is the dressing room, and the banquet hall is above." The visitor said calmly.

His voice sounded a bit sharp, and the occasional words in his mouth were like fingernails scratching glass, but you could tell that he was very excited.

Skrtel couldn't understand what the other party was saying at all, so he looked at Ellie out of the corner of his eye.

The eldest lady gave the hint, and suddenly a gunshot rang out, and the wand also lit up with light.

But both of their attacks had no effect. A black curtain appeared in front of the doctor, which not only blocked the bullets, but also offset the magic.

The doctor moved forward slowly, and the black curtain gradually closed, and then returned to his body.

Ellie finally saw his face clearly, and so did the Sheriff. Although they had almost guessed the identity of the other person, they still looked surprised.

That doctor was none other than Harvey's main therapist, Ernest.

"Now that you have discovered my little secret." Ernest laughed, "then become a performer at the ball."

There was something lurking in the dark corner of the room. The hairs on the back of Ellie's neck stood on end. She had had this feeling before, when she saw the Nightmare in the church.

Suddenly there was a scream, a sound that could pierce the eardrums and went straight into the brains of the two of them.

The Sheriff covered his ears and quickly vomited out a mouthful of blood. His eyes widened and tears burst out of his eyes, as if he had seen the most terrifying thing in the world.

"No, no no..." He muttered, released his hands covering his ears, then raised the gun and pointed it at his head.

The eldest lady's spell arrived just in time, and the scream disappeared immediately.

"Ah, fuck it." Ellie spit out the snot and saliva in her mouth, took out a box of exploding cigars from her pocket with trembling hands, and then threw it towards the monster in the shadow.

"It took me five years to track down some clues," Sheikh Mendez said. "The guy is now hiding in the town hospital."

"Merlin's Beard!" cried Edwin. "The Screamer is in the town hospital?"

"That's right, operating in the hospital as Niels, a Muggle security guard."

"My companions, they have all gone to the town hospital," cried Edwin, "I must warn them."

"No." Sheikh refused, "You and I have more important things to do."

The female scholar's face showed a cold light, "Go away, I don't care whether you are Sheikh Mendez or the director of an orphanage. I need to save my companions. If you want to stop me..."

Edwin pointed the wand at Sheikh, "I will stay with you until the end."

"I know how to unlock the magic circle outside, but I need a curse-breaker. Curse-breaking is not my specialty." Sheikh said.

"What?" Edwin frowned. She didn't expect that the other party had such a skill.

"What do you think? Go to the hospital and save your companions, or unlock the magic circle so that reinforcements from outside can come in. Make a choice. I will respect your choice, Miss Winkler."

After thinking for a while, Edwin cursed: "You damn bastard. If you had known their plan, you could have prevented this tragedy.

"Fucking politician. You need a stage to come back, don't you? After five years of missing, you have become a transparent person in the town. Even if you come back, you can't compete with your brothers.

"That's why you let this disaster go. Before things became irreversible, you unlocked the magic circle, welcomed the Ministry of Magic's rescue, and became the hero of the town.

"What a genius. You must have spent a lot of time preparing for this. No wonder you haven't heard from me in the past five years and are willing to live in this slum."

A smile appeared on Sheikh's face, although this smile made him look even more terrifying.

He said in a hoarse voice: "Maybe you are right. But it is also possible that I only recently learned about their plan and just cracked the magic circle.

"Perhaps the five years of hiding incognito was to avoid being hunted by my brother. As for why I lived in a Muggle slum, maybe it was because I have always advocated the harmonious life of Muggles and wizards.

"But now, none of this is important. It's better to make a decision quickly, miss. Should you save your friends or save the survivors in the town?"

Edwin's body was trembling slightly, and she gritted her teeth and replied: "I hope you have prepared a speech for the stage. I hope it can be worth what I revealed to the newspaper."
