Chapter 26 The Three Broomsticks

The bar at noon belonged to drunkards and idlers. These people occupied several tables. When Xing Ze walked into the bar, they all gave him unfriendly looks.

The still-charming Ms. Rosmerta was standing behind the bar, wiping the glasses carefully. She could obviously cast a small spell and the glasses on the wine cabinet would clean themselves.

But she didn't do that, as if wiping the glass was a sacred job. When Xing Ze sat down at the bar, she raised her head and asked: "What do you want, young man?"

"A cup of snail cherry syrup soda." Xing Ze replied according to the code on the letter.

Ms. Rosmerta raised her eyebrows, put down the glass, turned around and started mixing drinks. A glass of soda water was quickly placed in front of Xing Ze.

At this moment, the door of the bar was pushed open, and three men walked into the bar. They stood at the door and glanced around, and then the leading man said: "I smell a stink."

His face was covered with acne and his nose was sniffling, like a hound hunting for a rabbit. A follower behind him immediately answered: "Yes, I smell it too."

The three of them strode to the counter. The man with acne continued to sarcastically say, "I know where the smell comes from." They turned their attention to Xing Ze.

"Want some ice?" Ms. Rosmerta asked Xing Ze, focusing part of her attention on the three people.

"No more." Xing Ze replied.

"Damn it, what's wrong with this bar? They serve yellow-skinned pigs, and even the best wine turns stinky." The acne-prone man said nonsense, and the smell of wine came out of his mouth. He probably drank a lot before coming here.

Xing Ze then raised his head and glanced at him. His clothes were not very decent, and his yellowed teeth showed that he liked smoking or chewing white leaves. His hands were shaking slightly unconsciously, which was caused by long-term alcohol abuse.

Caused by poisoning.

Ms. Rosmerta frowned and asked Xing Ze again: "Today's weather is very bad."

"I think so too." Xing Ze retracted his gaze and replied.

The conversation between the two made the acne man a little confused. He shouted: "You damn yellow-skinned bastard. It's clearly sunny outside, but you say the weather is bad. Are you crazy?"

"He's out of his mind." Another follower agreed.

At some point, Ms. Rosmerta had a wand in her hand. She chanted a spell, but before the three people could react, they were swept out of the bar like garbage.

There were several sounds of heavy objects falling to the ground outside the door, causing a sleeping drunkard in the corner of the bar to mutter something in his sleep.

"Sorry, there are a lot of outsiders coming in recently, it's all caused by the plague."

Xing Ze nodded to show that it was okay.

Then a ball of light appeared on Ms. Rosmerta's wand. She raised her chin and said, "Follow the light and it will lead the way."

Xing Ze followed the ball of light through the kitchen, then through the storage room, and finally came to a closed wooden door.

The light ball merged into the wooden door at the end, a halo lit up on the door, and the magic pattern lock turned. After a few clicks, the door slowly opened.

A sweet aroma of wine hit his face, and Xing Ze guessed that this was probably an underground wine cellar. He took out his wand and cast a flashing spell, and saw the stairs going down.

Going down the stairs to the bottom, his guess was correct. This was indeed a huge underground wine cellar, filled with various barrels and bottles of wine.

Behind several wooden shelves, a shining light caught his attention.

Xing Ze continued walking along the light and saw a middle-aged man wearing a canvas apron behind a wine rack. He was squatting on the ground, holding a notepad in his hand, and was concentrating on checking the wine barrels in the bottom row.

"These are meads. Have you ever drank them, Xing Ze? The Three Broomsticks bar is very famous for their meads." The man suddenly said.

He stood up and Xing Ze saw his figure clearly under the light. He had a sparse head, a round face, small eyes, thick eyebrows, a slightly fat body, and a short stature. He looked very much like those salesmen running around.

member.

"I remember my last drink almost killed me."

"Aha." The man laughed, showing his yellow teeth, "This is also what I am confused about. Come with me, let's talk in another place."

The man walked quickly towards the depths of the wine cellar, followed closely by Xing Ze. He asked the man: "What should I call you?"

"Whatever, the name is just a code name for us." The man replied briskly, "If you feel uncomfortable, you can call me Mr. R."

The two walked through the rows of wine racks and soon came to the end of the wine cellar. It was transformed into a small office. Mr. R raised his wand, and the light ball used for lighting hovered in the air.

.

He put the notepad on the table and slid his body into the armchair, "Sit wherever you want, friend, we have a lot to talk about."

Xing Ze thought the same thing. There were too many questions that needed to be answered. He looked around carefully, then pulled up a chair and sat across from Mr. R.

"I know you have a lot of questions to ask, but before that, we have to complete the necessary procedures." The man took out a box from the drawer, he whispered a spell, and the three diamond-shaped crystals in the box immediately flew to

Xing Ze.

"Monitoring crystal." He introduced, "I think you must have seen this thing at the Auror Inquisitor."

Xing Ze nodded: "They said this thing can record sounds and images, just like a Muggle camera. But I think these three crystals are not only used for this, right?" The three crystals were spinning around him, from head to toe.

, back and forth constantly.

"You are very smart, friend." Mr. R praised, "Unfortunately, I can't tell you their true purpose now, but you will naturally know it when you officially become a member of our organization."

"So, this is an interview from the Department of Mysteries?"

"Interview? Oh, you can think of it that way, or you can think of it as a diagnosis."

"Diagnosis?" Xing Ze frowned, "What will happen if I fail?"

Mr.R replied seriously: "Unfortunately, if you fail, we will have to erase you."

Hearing this, Xing Ze frowned, and he checked the poplar wand hidden in his sleeve. As long as he wanted, the wand could quickly slide into his hand.

"Don't be nervous, young man, I'm just joking." Mr. R once again smiled like a professional salesman, "Now, let's get back to the process. Have you brought Benson's wand?"

Xing Ze couldn't tell whether the other party was really joking. He suppressed the urge to cast a spell to escape from this place, and took out the blackthorn wand with his other hand. He needed information, anything related to the train attack.

information.

"Can you let me see it? No, no, no, just put it on the table."

The wand was placed on top of a stack of books. Xing Ze glimpsed that the top book was called "The Key to the Door" and had a strange golden symbol on the black cover.
