Chapter 303 Road

Ai Li was sitting in the office of the police station, which was reserved for Xing Ze before, but now he has no use for it.

Looking at the busy police officers and detectives outside, Ellie wanted to find something to do for herself. She remembered that Frank had gone to the underground archives to look for information before, although Xing Ze wrote some key points in his notes and gave them to her.

, but she thought it would be better to go and see for herself.

Everyone looks at things from a different perspective, and maybe Xing Ze has also missed something. Although this possibility is very low, she still wants to try her luck, at least it is better than just sitting here.

She walked out of the office and went straight to the underground archives room. Burke looked up at the visitor, but the expression on his face did not change.

"Tell me, Miss Shafiq, what is it about that madman that appeals to you?"

"It's Nicks, Mr. Burke." Ellie corrected.

"Oh, yes. Please forgive me, the memory of elderly people always has deviations. So, can you please answer my questions?"

Ali pulled up a chair and sat on it. She crossed her legs, took out a fruit candy from her pocket and put it in her mouth.

"I like dangerous men. They can hit my G-spot."

Burke almost spit out the water in his mouth. Even though he swallowed the water as carefully as possible, he still choked and coughed.

The eldest lady looked at the reaction of the old-fashioned gentleman in front of her with satisfaction. Occasional pranks can make people feel happy, especially in these days of increasing pressure.

"What a shame!" Burke shouted after regaining his breath. "You should be ashamed, Miss. As a nobleman and a wizard of a big family, you should know etiquette and..."

"Oh, Burke. Put away your preaching." Ellie rubbed her hands, "Men can tell dirty jokes in broad daylight, why can't women? Do you know? In fact, women are no different from men. They also

I like people with good looks and strong bodies.

"Those aristocratic ladies who had afternoon tea with me, although they looked reserved and decent, they commented on the men at the ball, and then hooked up a satisfied man and went to the back garden to fool around.

"As long as you're charming enough, say a few sweet words, and drink a little wine, any man can slip his hands up those girls' skirts. That's true, Burke, whether you want to admit it or not.

"Women, like men, have desires that need to be vented. They both like to conquer the strong. Look, we are on to the point, conquer the strong. I like to conquer the strong, and he happens to be there. So don't make a fuss anymore,

Old sir, it’s just a little joke.”

Burke took out a handkerchief from his front pocket and wiped the corners of his mouth, and retorted with some dissatisfaction: "But the so-called women you call at least know when to joke."

"What's the problem? You're old, sir, and you'll soon forget this. To me, this joke is like a shell dropped into the sea. It'll soon disappear. But don't forget it too quickly.

,Old sir, I still have something to ask you."

Burke finally got to know this maverick witch. In fact, Ellie Shafik's reputation had already been known to everyone before that, just like her great-aunt, Carlotta Pinkston.

, this aristocratic lady is equally maverick and arrogant.

But unlike Carlotta Pinkston, this young lady knew when to be restrained and when to show off her edge. Otherwise, she would have been sent to Nurmengard long ago.

"What do you want to know?" Burke asked.

"This?" Ellie pointed her finger at the ceiling and circled it, "What kind of information is this underground archive room used to store?"

"Some old cases, unsolved cases, and some cases that have been closed."

Ellie nodded. She took out her notes and looked at them. Xing Ze left her the number of the file Frank had checked.

"Can I go in and have a look?"

"As you're welcome, ma'am, but remember to put things back where they belong."

The owner of the grocery store is an elderly woman. She is sitting in a rocking chair knitting a sweater. Opposite her, an old black and white TV is playing a movie by Xing Ze whose name is unknown.

"Isn't it too early to knit a sweater?" Xing Ze joked.

The old woman raised her head, glanced at him and said, "I have three grandchildren and two granddaughters."

"I see. Is there a map here?"

"Go look at the innermost shelf."

Xing Ze walked to the last shelf, searched around a pile of dusty map books, and finally found the county map at the bottom.

He opened it and looked at it. The time marked on the map showed that the map was drawn eight years ago. It marked Brichester, but there was no road leading there.

It's really strange. A town with a top university, there is no road leading there. Xing Ze murmured in his heart. He had investigated Brichester, but the information he could find was quite sparse. It was as if there was something connecting this place.

Dongzhen Town was deliberately hidden.

On the way to pay, Xing Ze picked up another bottle of wine. He put the things at the front desk and asked, "Do you know Brichester?"

"What?" the shopkeeper put down his sewing, "you mean Brichester?"

"right."

"Of course I know. The town is not far from here. Many people in the surrounding area went to college there. But apart from the university, there doesn't seem to be much worth visiting there."

Xing Ze took out the money from his pocket and handed it over, "I didn't find the way to that place on the map."

"There is a road going there, you should come early. There is only one shuttle bus going there every day. It is not the school season, so there won't be too many buses.

"The road is old, so it's not surprising that it's not marked on the map. Those government employees don't take their work that seriously. The lack of a road on the map won't affect anything, not to mention it's such a remote place.

"Oh, by the way. I have to remind you. If you plan to go there, you'd better be mentally prepared."

"kindness?"

"The people in that place are very xenophobic. They don't like outsiders. But they have to rely on the university to survive, so sometimes the residents will vent their anger on outsiders."

"I remember." Xing Ze said. He collected the change and walked out of the grocery store with his things.

After drinking the wine, the old man drew a route on the county map. He vowed: "This is it. You can get to Brichester along this road."

"Follow this road?" Lanny asked, skeptical of the small-eyed driver.

The driver nodded and said, "Yes, we all go this way."

Kent took the map and looked at it carefully. He didn't quite believe it, because the road leading to Brichester was obviously a mountain road.
