Chapter 62 Waiting

Scrimgeour turned his attention to Xing Ze, sizing up the young man like a lion sizing up its prey.

"Your familiar is very interesting," he said, suspiciously.

When he saw the crystal ball on the table, Xing Ze knew that Scrimgeour would definitely ask about it.

"It's not even a familiar. It's a liquid metal puppet that can change its form at will. It's the latest Eastern technology."

Scrimgeour frowned and did not dwell on the issue any further, "Okay, I just want to know what are you doing here?"

"I want to ask that too," John said, "Are you guys having a dance party with Aurors?"

"It seems that I am asking for trouble. Take them down and find a therapist." Scrimgeour ordered decisively. He probably realized that he could not ask anything from these two people.

John straightened up and glared at Delis, who was about to come forward and pull him away. "I advise you not to do this, Rufus. Those old guys in the Department of Mysteries are not that easy to talk to."

Scrimgeour laughed disdainfully, "I don't think anyone would care about a drunkard in Knockturn Alley. As for you, your name is Xing Ze, right? I think you also need a good rest."

"I really need to take a rest." Xing Ze felt his lips trembling slightly, and the symptoms of excessive consumption of magic power began to appear.

John originally wanted to say a few harsh words, but after seeing the face of his companion, he gave up this idea. He warned Delis fiercely: "Hey, don't touch me, big man, I will leave on my own."

"

Before walking out of the basement, Xing Ze glanced at the black-haired white woman standing in the corner. She was also observing Xing Ze. Their eyes collided, and neither of them meant to look away, but in the end, the woman did not

He reluctantly turned his head.

After the two walked out of the basement, Scrimgeour stood up and cast a silencing spell. He looked at the remaining two people - Kingsley and the black-haired woman.

"Director Scrimgeour, if it weren't for them, it might be us who died outside." The black-haired woman said.

"I know, Tonks." Scrimgeour nodded, "That's why I didn't embarrass them and even hired a therapist."

"This operation should be kept secret," Kingsley said. "Why did the Oil Gang ambush us?"

None of the three spoke, and after a period of silence Scrimgeour reluctantly guessed: "The operation has been leaked."

"By whom?" Kingsley asked, but it was more like saying to himself, "We are the only ones who know about this operation."

"No matter what, we were all fooled." Scrimgeour said with a sullen face, "I need someone I can trust to go to that Colosseum."

"I'll go," Tonks said with her hands half raised.

But Scrimgeour obviously had no intention of letting her go, "It's too dangerous, there may be another trap below. You've done enough, go back to school. Leave the rest to us."

"Hey, Director, you can't use me up and throw me away like garbage."

"Don't get excited, Tonks, do I seem to be such an inhumane person? I left you a letter of recommendation, which will be helpful for you to be admitted to Auror in the future."

A letter of recommendation from the current head of the Auror Office is indeed much more useful than a school transcript.

She could obediently drop everything and leave, but she could also disobey and continue the investigation. Tonks weighed the pros and cons in her mind.

"The director is right, kid, it's time for you to leave." Kingsley also advised, "I will go down with Delis."

"Be careful, Kingsley."

Kingsley nodded and said to Tonks: "Okay, let me see you off, kid."

The therapist seemed to be a novice. This was the conclusion Xing Ze came to after observing. He was not very skilled in using magic suturing, at least much worse than Weber.

"You know, kid, it's rude for a man to stare at a woman."

"I know." Xing Ze stuffed his whole body into the sofa so that his whole body could relax.

The owner of the fast food restaurant kindly gave up the employee lounge. His youngest daughter is attending Hogwarts, and his eldest son has graduated and found a clerical job at the Ministry of Magic.

"Is there anything else you need?" he asked eagerly.

"If you have wine, I'll... fuck you now!" John howled.

The novice therapist stopped hastily and asked again: "How about some anesthetic, sir?" This time he was almost begging.

"No, rookie, keep sewing, it's nothing. The anesthetic will make my brain dull." John gritted his teeth and said, "Bring me some wine, kind boss, otherwise my scream will definitely scare you.

guest's.

"Of course, sir, I'll go get it right away."

"It's best to have whiskey." John told the boss's back.

"Alcohol can also make your brain dull." Xing Ze corrected vaguely. He felt very tired now, but the new healer did not bring any potion to restore magic power.

He must have arrived in a hurry, as one of the Aurors in charge dragged him here from St. Mungo's in just five minutes.

"I won't believe your nonsense, boy, wine has always made me sober." John curled his lips, "Our previous topic is not over yet. If you are attracted to that girl, I suggest sending flowers. She will see

She looks like she likes flowers."

"I'm just observing her and confirming some things."

"Has anyone ever told you that you're boring, kid?"

"Quite a few."

"Ah, it's really terrible. Why are all the people I partner with such weirdos? You just said you have a familiar?"

"Liquid metal puppet, the latest simulated multi-element alloy plus magic reconstruction and engraving, using the latest..." Xing Ze started to talk nonsense seriously.

"Okay, okay, you look like those lunatics at the Magic Research Institute now." John interrupted Xing Ze in time.

"You asked me."

"My fault." John begged. He turned to look at the therapist and sighed, "Those Aurors must know something. We can't be trapped here."

"Is there anything you should pay attention to?" Xing Ze asked helplessly.

"If you hadn't compromised so quickly, neither would we."

Xing Ze exhaled a long breath and said: "I don't have much magic power left. Your back was scratched by a werewolf and needs treatment to prevent infection. Besides, there were a bunch of Aurors staring at us eagerly at that time."

"Then you should at least get some information from them."

"I don't think they know any more than we do."

"But they're about to be one step ahead of us." John said, "You've been to the Colosseum. Is there anything noteworthy there?"

"It's the Colosseum."

"Damn it!"

"Relax, J. Since things are out of our control, let's let it go for now."

John was a little confused about this young man. One second he was chasing his prey with all his strength, but now he was lying on the sofa like a dead fish, like an old man who was about to choke to death on his saliva.
