Chapter 7 Farewell

The messenger left seven days for the believers to say their final farewell to this plane.

Although this place gave them too many unpleasant memories, when they were about to leave, they unexpectedly found that they were full of attachment to this home that was not warm.

"I want to go home."

After the messenger left, Refant was silent for a long time, and finally couldn't help but make this request to the high priest Delphi.

"Home?"

When he just heard this sentence, Delphi did not realize what the word referred to.

After all, the believers of the Dark Temple have been displaced all year round and live without a care in the world. They only have a "camp" and no "home".

However, when he noticed Lei's expression, he soon realized that the so-called "home" referred to the dark temple deep in the ice field.

Refant was an orphan and grew up in the temple.

He has lived there for more than 20 years. Now that he is about to leave his hometown, he naturally wants to go back and visit.

"I also want to go back and have a look," Delphi sighed and said, "Unfortunately, we are too far away, and a week will definitely not be enough."

Lei nodded silently.

It took them more than ten days to get from the Dark Temple to the Northern Tribunal. Not to mention the round trip, they might not even be able to go back one way in a week.

"My parents are there," Lei said softly. "If I leave without telling them a message, they will definitely be worried about me."

Delphi said nothing, but patted him lightly on the shoulder.

Lei's parents are currently buried in the cemetery behind the Dark Temple, under two dusty tombstones.

Not far from these two tombstones is the tomb of Delphi's teacher, the former high priest of the Dark Temple.

Although these three tombstones, as well as dozens of nearby tombstones, have different birth dates, they all have the same death date engraved on them.

Now that he was about to leave, he didn't even have time to go back and take a look.

There is no time to avenge them.

"Eriel, I have sworn countless times that I will personally kill Yaknelga and avenge my teacher." At sunrise, when the fat man came to him, Delphi finally couldn't help it.

She confided to him, "But now... I'm afraid I won't be able to do it in my lifetime.

"Eriel, you told me that you have wasted decades of your time, been a waste for decades, and accomplished nothing.

"I...why am I not like this?"

Hearing his confession, Fat Ariel laughed heartlessly: "Then why don't we form a waste alliance? A fat bear and a dead wood, they match well."

"You are the dead wood," Delphi argued reflexively, "Also, have you finally admitted that you are a fat bear?"

"Look, you're smiling." Ariel suddenly pointed at the slightly raised corners of his mouth, showing a wicked smile that looked like a conspiracy was succeeding.

Delphi immediately stopped smiling.

Ariel shook his head, obviously dissatisfied with his vindictive behavior.

"Delphi, you have this regret, and so do I," the fat man turned his head and said to himself, "I temporarily rented the neighbor's donkey, and I haven't returned it yet; my ax and "Darkness"

The "Sacred Scripture" is still with Aknelga, and I haven't been able to get it back yet; my grocery store is left unattended; I haven't lost any weight yet...

"Well, that's not the point.

"Delphi, you may not understand. When the enemies were so aggressive that they formed a circle around me, I held my ax and slashed into the air, but I couldn't hurt the enemies at all.

"At that time, the messenger was not far away, looking at me silently. His eyes were calm, and even showed a trace of sympathy.

"You said...at that time, did he regard me as a fool?"

"You are not a fool." Delphi said calmly.

"I know you won't think of me as a fool, but what about the Messenger?" At this point, Ariel became a little excited. "He is different from you. He doesn't know what I did when I was young. Maybe...

...Perhaps he has regarded me as a fool since the first meeting.

"Sigh... Actually, I... I'm really worried that after I leave this plane, if... something unexpected happens, I will never have the chance to... clear my name."

Ariel's voice trembled slightly, obviously trying to restrain his impassioned emotions.

Delphi sighed and made no more attempts to comfort him.

There were some things that Delphi couldn't help him with, so he had to rely on himself.

…………

On the first day after the messenger left, the believers faced the direction of the dark temple in the north, knelt on the ground, kissed the soil in front of them, paid high respect to the god they believed in, and silently prayed for his protection.

The next day, they piled up the remaining bricks and rubble of the Northern Tribunal, treating it as a distant tomb to worship their deceased ancestors.

On the third day, they brought out twice as much dry food as usual and feasted under the bright stars, which was a belated celebration feast.

On the fourth and fifth days, they were all packing up and preparing to go into battle lightly. The heavy sleds and extra baggage were all left behind, and they kept everything simple.

On the sixth day, they did nothing but walked around the ruins, trying to remember the last scene of this plane in their minds.

On the seventh day, when the sun was rising, the messenger appeared.

Everyone present stared at him intently.

Because every decision he makes may completely change the fate of everyone present.

"Who will he leave behind?" This is the most curious thing on everyone's mind.

The messenger's eyes stayed on Ariel and Delphi respectively for a moment.

Both of them couldn't help but hold their breath.

As for Refant next to him, he stood on tiptoes, with "Choose me", "Choose me", "Choose me" clearly written all over his face.

But in the end, the messenger's eyes fell on Isabella.

The young saint was wearing a long black dress and stood in the morning sun. The golden light fell on her body, coating her waist-length silver hair with a golden edge.

On her chest was a withered white rose.

That lifeless look was incompatible with her energetic appearance.

The messenger smiled slightly, walked to her side, and gently took off the withered white rose.

Black mist emerged in his hand, wrapped around the withered rose, and turned into a black tornado.

When it dispersed, all the broken petals and decaying branches and leaves disappeared.

Instead, there was a delicate, blooming white rose.

"Miss Isabella, I need you to stay here and do me a favor." The messenger said calmly, and at the same time pinned the flowers to Isabella's chest again.

Isabella turned her head slightly, glanced at Delphi, and when the high priest nodded, she showed a bright smile:

"good."

After hearing her answer, the messenger nodded, then looked at the others and said, "Do you have any wishes in this plane that I can help you fulfill?"

Everyone looked at each other in shock.

Although everyone had a lot of regrets in their hearts, when the envoy actually raised this issue, they all found it difficult to speak.

The messenger seemed to have anticipated this situation.

He first walked up to Ariel and said with a faint smile: "I have sent someone to return the donkey you borrowed to your neighbor Aunt Mary for you; there will also be someone to take care of your grocery store after you leave.

;As for your ax...it is a foreign object after all, isn't it?"

Ariel sniffed and nodded seriously.

The messenger continued: "Eriel, before I leave, I know you have a lot to say. But you have to understand that a real hero is not one who does not have humble sentiments, but one who never gives in to humble sentiments."

"Yeah." Ariel raised his head slightly to prevent tears from falling out of his eyes.

Immediately afterwards, the messenger came to Refant and many believers.

"Don't worry. I will take care of the graves of your ancestors. Their souls will also rest in the Kingdom of God, our Lord.

"You have to remember that your home was once in the back, but now it is in the front."

After hearing this, everyone's emotions were ups and downs, but when the words came to their lips, they found that they couldn't say them out.

Finally, the messenger came to the high priest Delphi.

"I will kill Yak Nelga." The messenger said calmly.

After hearing this, the high priest was stunned for a moment to confirm that he heard correctly, and then his knees softened involuntarily and he knelt on the ground.

"I would like to thank you on behalf of the teacher." Thousands of words came to my mouth, and in the end only one simple sentence remained.

"Get up," the messenger said calmly, "I didn't kill him just for your teacher."

Delphi stood up and said yes repeatedly.

The messenger sighed softly and turned around.

At this time, he stood in front of everyone, facing the darkness and turning his back to the sun.

His figure is not strong and even a little thin, but in the eyes of believers, he is a symbol of strength and hope.

"Look up." He said softly.

Everyone raised their heads in response.

I saw a golden six-pointed star rising slowly from the horizon. The dazzling golden light spread quickly, quickly forming a sea of light.

In the center of the six-pointed star is a vortex made of light, behind which lies a brand new world.

This is the most brilliant sunrise that believers have ever seen in their lifetimes.

It was also the last sunrise they saw on this plane.
