Chapter 12 Means

It's approaching mid-July, and the weather is getting sultry. Under this temperature, few people are willing to step out of their homes at noon.

At exactly one o'clock in the afternoon, the bells echoed in the Greyhawk Square at the end of Mogel Street.

This is the very center of the city of Hull, surrounded by three buildings, all of which belong to the official empire.

In the middle is the government building of Hull City. It is completely white and looks very solemn and sacred.

On the right side is the church's cathedral, which is surrounded by twelve long and narrow stone pillars of different heights, symbolizing the twelve powers of the twelve emperors.

The one on the left appears to be the police department of Hull City. In fact, it is also the seat of the "Shrine", the administrative department of the transcendent.

Just as the bells fell, a carriage stopped in front of Gray Eagle Square, and a man wearing a black Tussock formal suit, a top hat, and a goatee stepped out.

Lennon Sivens raised his head, frowned and looked at the sun in the sky, and then walked towards the government building.

After some planning with Scola in Salius City, Lennon, who already had a new mission, finally returned to Hull City half a month later, and the first stop of his trip was here.

In other words, it's Lyca Winter Clark's office.

"The Empire also has some fairly weak spiritual transcendents in Hull City..." Lennon felt the existence of the magic circle as soon as he entered the door of the building, but he couldn't feel what the magic circle was for...

Just like the feeling at Krabi.

After informing people downstairs, Lennon walked into his destination on the second floor.

"Good afternoon, Your Excellency, City Lord." After closing the door, Lennon bowed slightly and saluted the middle-aged man who was sitting behind the table and looking at him.

Lyca Winter Clark looks to be about forty years old, with a square face, a stern face and a tall stature. Just sitting there, he can exude a heart-stopping aura.

This is not due to his supernatural abilities, just because of his image.

"A few days ago, Salius City sent me a letter and mentioned your matter." Lekawent nodded and said in a low voice, "Tell me, the purpose of your coming to me, this is Scola

Never mentioned it.”

"You guys all speak in the same tone..." Lennon first scolded Leca Winter in his mind, and then said respectfully, "Your Excellency the City Lord..."

"You don't need to be so formal, I don't like that." Leca Winter interrupted Lennon and reminded him.

"Okay, Mr. Clark, you should still remember the great siege twelve years ago, right?" Lennon changed his title and said in a questioning tone.

"Perval?" Leka Winter raised his eyebrows and replied, "Of course I will not forget that although he is a rebel, I admire his noble character."

"Ahem...Mr. Clark, we are talking about a heinous sinner." Lennon coughed and reminded Leka Winter not to say more.

"What about sinners?" Lyca Winter smiled and said, "In a sinner, I see many things that many knights who claim to be 'noble' can't see... Forget it, it's useless to talk more, why are you bringing this up?

?”

Seeing that the topic did not continue to move in a dangerous direction, Lennon also breathed a sigh of relief.

He had long heard that Lyca Winter Clark was a weirdo who adhered to the spirit of chivalry. Because of this, although he was loyal to the empire, he was never able to obtain a higher position.

You must know that if a fourth-level knight like him is more diplomatic, he can easily join the palace and get the opportunity to continue to be promoted. Even if it is not good enough, he can go to a larger city and obtain a higher position.

But Leka Winter was Leka Winter, and his character allowed him to stay in a small city like Hull for fifteen years, and he never had the chance to be promoted to a high-level transcendental person.

"According to reliable information, Perval left a child in what is now the Creevey Orphanage." Lennon paused and continued, "And the director there, Crabbe Creevey, was a

Hidden third-level scholars, there is a high probability that there are items left over from the wilderness hidden in the orphanage..."

"What?" Lyca Winter frowned slightly when he heard this, and then said, "Is the news reliable?"

"Absolutely reliable, I found this out myself." Lennon said with a smile.

"Are you..." Leca Winter looked at Lennon and asked with some confusion.

"Lennon Sivens, the assassin of the third class." Lennon replied quickly.

"Lennon Sivens...oh, it turns out it's you, the traitor who died." Leca Winter touched his chin and nodded.

"I just chose the right camp," Lennon said with a smile.

"In public terms, I agree with your statement, but in private terms, you, a traitor who sells himself for glory, simply makes me feel sick." Leca Winter showed no mercy to Lennon and said with an expression of disgust.

"Mr. Clark, can we talk about business?" Lennon gritted his teeth and his face became obviously gloomy.

"Yes, yes... let's talk about business." Leka Winter nodded, picked up a piece of paper from the side, and said to himself, "First, we must notify the shrine and let them investigate."

"No, no, no, Mr. Clark, please don't do this!" Lennon heard this and said quickly, "Mr. Coles hopes that as few people as possible know about this matter."

After a while, he added, "At least don't let the Shrine get involved in this matter."

"But this is official business, and official business should follow procedures!" Leka Winter said seriously, "Transcendental related cases should be handed over to the shrine for handling. This is stipulated by imperial law!"

"Damn it, why would Scola find such a stubborn guy..." Lennon cursed inwardly, then smiled and said, "The laws of the empire, yes, we are all members of the empire, so we must abide by the laws.

.”

As he spoke, he reached out and took out a document with an official seal and showed it to Leka Winter, "This is an order issued by Salius City. Mr. Clark, if you are a law-abiding person, then

Please give me permission to act alone..."

Later, he added, "I will let you intervene in this matter when necessary."

This document was obtained by Scola. In a sense, with it, Lennon could start taking action without even visiting Leca Winter, but Scola specifically reminded him to do so.

"Troublesome guy, isn't this just making it more difficult? Who knows if this guy who abides by the rules will affect the result..." Lennon thought to himself.

"It is indeed the permission from Salius City..." Lacavant looked at the document carefully, then sighed, reached out and took out a bracelet from under the table, and threw it to Lennon.

"Take it and go to the shrine to register it and tell them that I asked you to go," Leka Winter said.

Lennon took the bracelet and raised the corners of his mouth slightly.

"very good…"

"Concentrate..." Morses's voice echoed in the room, and at the same time, two arcane balls were floating next to him.

After more than half a month of practice, he was able to meditate alone, and now the study in the morning had once again changed from long-term meditation to the teaching of transcendental knowledge.

After a while, the two arcane balls slowly integrated into Morses' body and entered his spirit.

"It's smoother than yesterday, and I don't feel any special discomfort, even though my mental energy has been exhausted." Morsis took a deep breath, leaned against the wall, looked up at the ceiling and said, "It seems that the distance between the old man's words and that of

That state of being is not far away..."

The promotion of a spiritual transcendental person is actually very simple. It means simply accumulating the corresponding spiritual power, and then activating the arcana through different levels of methods to reach the corresponding level.

"But without the final 'ritual', all these efforts will be in vain. The corresponding ritual for the first-order transcendental person is very simple, just look for an environment rich in arcane energy... But without the old man providing the corresponding magic circle, just relying on

It is difficult for me, a quasi-transcendent person, to find that kind of environment." Morses looked at the magic book compiled by Krabei and said to himself.

The road to transcendence sounds simple, but in fact it is unimaginably difficult. When you reach the third or even fourth level, the amount of mental energy you need to accumulate is massive, not to mention the more demanding and difficult rituals.

"Huh..." Morsis lay down, thinking about the future in his mind, and his eyelids gradually sunk.

"Dong dong dong!" A rapid knock on the door suddenly reached Morse's ears, causing his eyelids that had just fallen to rise again.

"Morses, are you there?" Lar's voice came from outside the door.

"What's wrong?" Morse got out of bed, walked to the door, and opened it.

"What's wrong with you?" After opening the door, Morsis suddenly frowned.

Lar's body outside the door was wet, and there were several minor wounds visible on his hands.

"No...it's nothing. I fell down because of the sudden rain when I came back. Do you have any potion?" Lar scratched the back of his head and said with a smile.

Morriss frowned and looked at him, then shook his head and said, "Don't be so anxious all the time, be careful, and wait for the medicine."

As he spoke, Morsis turned around and rummaged through the pile of debris next to the door.

"Hey, I know. I don't know why it rained suddenly when it was so hot during the day. Fortunately, it's just a minor injury. It's okay." Lar's voice came from behind him.

Not long after, Morsis stood up with a small bottle of potion, handed it to Lal, and said, "Take it, remember to be careful in the future."

"Thank you, see you tomorrow, Morsis!" Lar took the medicine bottle, nodded, turned around and left.

Morsis looked at Lal's retreating figure, sighed, and reached out to close the door.

Outside the door, hearing the sound of the door closing behind him, Lal stopped and turned around.

"sorry…"

After saying something softly, Lar turned around and continued walking downstairs.
