Chapter 1,602 When time and space are both indistinguishable

Anthony, in his pajamas, walked across the hall toward the kitchen.

His attention was drawn to the brightly colored chairs in the clinic, which now stood in the foyer.

Anthony was a little confused: "Where did these come from?"

Annie's voice came, speaking to him in the corridor.

Annie's voice sounded off-screen: "Dad? Have you gotten up? Did you sleep well?"

But he didn't answer. He felt something was different about this apartment. Confused, he walked forward to check it out!

When he came to the living room, he saw the packed boxes. He was a little suspicious that Anne was going to Paris in the end.

Anthony looked at the wall and saw that Lucy's painting was no longer there.

He heard Anne's voice again. She was busy in the kitchen, preparing the breakfast before meeting Laura.

Anne's voice came: "Would you like a cup of coffee before she comes?"

Anthony asked: "Where is the painting?"

Annie: "What painting?"

Anthony asked: "Lucy's painting."

"You are confusing this place with your own apartment. There are never paintings here. Come and have breakfast," said Anne.

Obviously this was Anne's apartment, not Anthony's, but he couldn't tell.

However, the scene that appeared next was shocking.

Anthony looked carefully at the wall, and there seemed to be a rectangle with a lighter color there, perhaps left from the picture frame.

Anthony: "Look, Annie... there."

He turned around, but Anne wasn't there.

Anthony shouted: "Annie?"

Laura came out of the kitchen, carrying a cup of coffee.

Laura: "Here's your coffee!"

Anthony was very surprised to see her. Apparently he had always thought that Anne was inside, but he didn't expect that it was Laura who came out!

He asked Laura where Anne had gone, and Laura told him that Anne was out.

Anthony thought she had gone to Paris, so Laura added: "She will be back soon. In the evening, I will get you medicine."

Anthony: "No, wait."

Laura: "I'll be right back. I'm just going to get you some medicine."

She walked away, and Anthony looked uneasy, realizing that he was not wearing his watch.

Anthony was a little depressed: "What a ghost."

He suddenly realized that he was wearing pajamas, and he straightened his appearance before she came back.

He shifted the armchair and sat down, pretending to be calm.

Laura came back with a glass of water and his medicine.

Anthony asked again: "What time is it?"

Laura: "It's time for you to take your medicine. Well, it's best to take it right away. It'll be over after you finish it. What do you think? There are three pills today, this blue one..."

She seemed to be talking to a child, which made Anthony unhappy.

Laura: "This is what you like. Your little blue pill. Look, it's a cute color, isn't it?"

Anthony finally couldn't help but said: "Can I ask you a question?"

Laura: "Okay."

Anthony: "Are you a nun?"

Anthony: Then why are you talking to me like I'm a retard?

Laura: "Me?"

Anthony: "Yes."

Laura: "But I didn't!"

Anthony imitated Laura's previous tone: "Your little blue pill." "Your little blue pill."

Laura was a little confused and said apologetically: "I'm sorry. I didn't expect you..."

Anthony said: "This tone is really uncomfortable. You will know it when you reach my age. Let me tell you again, this is much faster than you think."

Laura apologized: "I apologize! I won't do this again."

Anthony is still imitating her: "Your little blue pill."

She handed him the water.

Anthony asked again: "Did you notice anything?"

Laura was confused: "About what?"

Anthony: "What else could it be about? About my apartment!"

Laura: "No, what's wrong?"

"It's different," Anthony said.

Laura asked: "You think so?"

Anthony: "Yeah, like, these chairs. Over there, who put them there?"

He was referring to the brightly colored chairs in the hallway.

In fact, at this moment, everyone also understood something. Where is Anthony's apartment here? It is not even Anne's apartment, but a nursing home?

What he was confused about was not only time, but also space!

Laura: "I don't know. Your daughter, I guess."

Anthony: "Obviously. My daughter, obviously still like this, it's wonderful! They didn't even ask me for my opinion. I...do you know what was planned? For my apartment?"

Laura shook her head: “I don’t know.”

Anthony: "Okay, I know. I watch with my eyes wide open. I know everything."

There was silence for a moment.

Anthony spoke again: "By the way, I want to apologize if I was a little bit offended. Last time we met..."

Laura shook her head: "It doesn't matter, your daughter reminded me, she told me, you have your own temper."

She smiled brightly at him. Anthony looked at her, deeply attracted.

Anthony: "It's amazing how much you look like Lucy. My other daughter, not Anne, not her, the other one, the one I love."

Laura said: "Anne told me about her and I'm sorry, I didn't know about it before."

Anthony asked: "Don't know what?"

Laura said: "Her accident."

Anthony was confused: "What accident?"

Laura came back to her senses: “Ah?”

Anthony frowned: "What are you talking about?"

Laura quickly said it was nothing. Laura realized that Anthony had forgotten that his daughter had passed away, and she tried to change the topic.

In fact, at this time, the audience was also surprised. They did not expect that Anthony's daughter Lucy had passed away.

And Anthony obviously doesn't remember.

It’s just that although Laura’s strategy of changing the subject was successful, it also failed.

Laura: "Have you taken your medicine? Then we have to get dressed."

Anthony: "Do you think so?"

Laura: "What?"

Anthony: "You're just talking to me like I'm a retard."

Anthony: "You do!"

Laura: "I didn't, I..."

Anthony: "Then we're going to get dressed..." "Your little blue pill."

Laura was silent, and so was Anthony.

Then he continued: "The truth is, I'm smart. You have to remember that, okay?"

Laura: "Okay, I'll remember that."

Anthony: "Thank you. It's true. I'm very smart. Sometimes, I even surprise myself. My memory is like an elephant."

At this time, Anthony didn't know that the more this happened, the more he looked like a child.

Anthony wanted to make this matter completely clear.

But he drank water and forgot to take medicine.

After he found that the medicine was still in his hand, he performed a magic trick on Laura.

Anthony: "Look. Are you watching? Look carefully. I put the medicine in my saliva. Look, I have it in my mouth. It changes! The medicine is in my mouth. Did you see it? Did you see it?

?Did you see it?"

Laura: "Yes, yes, I, I'm watching."

Anthony: "Okay, now, drink coffee and watch carefully... the changes!"

He swallowed the pills.

"finished."

"great."

Anthony also said that he worked in the circus when he was young.

He also wanted to perform a magic trick for Laura, but Laura reminded him to put on his clothes.

Then, Anthony actually started talking like a child, without even realizing it.

Anthony: "What's the point? I'm going to put my pajamas back on tonight, right? And I can save some time."

Laura: "I understand what you mean. But if you stay in your pajamas, we won't be able to go out."

Anthony: "Where do you want to go?"

Laura: "Go to the garden. It's a nice day."

Suddenly, the man from before walked in, also holding a cup of coffee in his hand.

The man asked: "Is everything okay?"

The man's sudden appearance made Anthony uneasy.

Laura nodded: "Very good, we are just about to get dressed."

Anthony hesitated: "But..."

Laura looked at him: “Do you want to come with me?”

Anthony didn't understand why this man came to his apartment. He thought that Anne lived with Paul and that this man had a threatening aura.

The man asked again: "Is everything okay, Anthony?"

Anthony stayed where he was and didn't answer.

Because he doesn't remember who the other party is.

Man: "What's the problem?"

Anthony quickly waved his hand and said no, but the man said he wanted to talk to Anthony.

Laura knew that it was not convenient for her to be there, so she said she would go and prepare.

But her leaving made Anthony a little uneasy, but Laura still walked away.

She left the room, and Anthony looked a little frightened, as if the stranger's presence had frightened him.

Man: "Can I ask you a question?"

Anthony: "Okay."

The man approached him with a hint of aggression.

Man: "But I want an honest answer. Instead of beating around the bush...can you do that?"

Anthony swallowed: "Okay."

Man: "Well, how long are you going to cause trouble to everyone like this?"

Anthony was at a loss: "Me?"

Man: "Yes, you. I want to know what you think."

The audience was completely dumbfounded, and of course some people seemed to see something.

Because this was another scene that Paul had treated him like this before.

I asked this question too, with the same actions, the same tone, and the same words!

Man: "I mean, are you going to continue to ruin your daughter's life? Or is it just wishful thinking to expect you to be a reasonable person for the foreseeable future?"

Anthony didn't understand what he was talking about at all: "But...what are you talking about?"

Man: "I'm talking about you, Anthony. I'm talking about you and your attitude."

"Snapped!"

He slapped him.

Anthony asked angrily what he was doing, he couldn't tolerate it, but the man said he could do it again.

"You can't tolerate it? Then I'll give it to you again! What will you do?"

Anthony found that he really seemed to be unable to do anything.

Then he said: "Then I have to compete with you!"

Man: "Are you being provocative? Look, I'm the same, I have things I can't tolerate. I'm causing trouble to everyone, and I'm getting older."

The man smiled and slapped him again.

Anthony shouted: "Stop! Do you hear me? Stop it now."

The man still had a big menacing smile on his face, and Anthony in front of him looked very helpless.

Man: "Yeah, I can't stand this. I think it's very inappropriate."

He slapped him for the third time.

Anthony protected his face: "Stop! I told you to stop!"

He maintained this humiliating defensive posture, and the man was still smiling.

When the camera turns, Annie is smoking by the window, just like what was seen in the previous shot. It feels like a continuation of the previous scene.

Suddenly, she heard her father's voice coming from outside the screen.

Anthony shouted: "Annie!"

She hurriedly walked to the living room.

Anthony huddled up and maintained his defensive posture. The person in front of him was Paul, not the man, and Paul was looking at him in confusion.

Annie: "Dad? Dad, what's wrong?"

When there was no answer, Anne turned to Paul.

"What's up with him?"

Paul shook his head: "I don't know."

She walked towards her father, and Anthony kept his posture as if he was afraid of being slapped.

Anne asked: "Is it for your watch? Dad, is this the reason? I found it, look! Shh. Come on, don't cry."

As she spoke, she held him and stroked his hair. She looked at Paul worriedly.

"You're gonna be okay, huh? Shh! You're gonna be okay. You're gonna be okay. Let's go get some roast chicken, okay? You like chicken, don't you?"

Anthony asked again: "What time is it now?"

Anne said: "It's 7 o'clock, it's dinner time."

This chapter is not over yet, please click on the next page to continue reading! Anthony looked shocked: "7 o'clock in the evening?"

Annie: "Yes, Dad."

Anthony: "But I think it's morning. I just got up. Look, I'm still in my pajamas."

Annie: "No, it's tonight. I roasted a chicken for you. Come on, let's go have a meal. Come on, little daddy, little daddy."

He looked very confused, and Anne tried to comfort him. Then she looked at Paul.

Anthony's memory of time and space has been confused to the extent that he cannot distinguish between day and night.

The scene changes again, Annie is in the bathroom, and Paul is waiting for her in the bedroom.

She was brushing her teeth in front of the mirror. Suddenly, she stopped, looking tired and sad, and walked back to the bedroom.

Paul was already lying on the bed, and Anne walked over and sat down.

On the other side, Anthony was lying on the bed, it was late at night, and suddenly, he heard voices.

"Dad? Dad, are you asleep?"

He sat up and turned on the light, but no one was there.

He asked: "Annie?"

"No, dad, it's me."

"Lucy?"

He got up from the bed, put on his nightgown and walked out of the room.

It was very dark in the apartment, but he heard a sound coming from the closet at the end of the corridor. He was curious and walked over to open the closet. However, behind the closet door was another corridor, just like the one Anthony saw for the first time.

Hospital corridor.

He looked up and down the corridor, very confused. All the sounds and sights of the hospital at night made it impossible for him to deny that he was in a hospital. He looked back and forth, frozen in place.

"dad?"

"Lucy, is that you?"

He walked forward slowly along the corridor. Then, through a half-open door, he saw a young woman lying on the bed. The young woman turned to look at him, it was Lucy.

"dad!"

Lucy shouted.

The camera changed again and showed the apartment.

The same still empty shot. Only this time, there is almost no furniture.

In the bathroom, Anthony splashed water on his face and looked at himself in the mirror. He dipped water into his hair and fixed his style. He remembered the dream and decided to check the closet.

Anthony walked towards the closet in his dream. He was reluctant to open it, but he did it anyway. It was a cupboard where the brooms were kept.

"Ah, you're up!"

Anne is making breakfast. A cup of coffee has been placed on Anthony's place on the dining table.

Anthony: "Good morning, dear!"

Annie: "Please sit down. It's ready. Are you hungry?"

Anne placed the plate of toast and eggs in front of him.

Annie: "You have guests coming today, remember?"

Anthony began to eat breakfast, seemingly unimpressed.

But he said that Anne had nagged her many times.

Anthony also said that he dreamed of her last night. He was talking about Lucy, but Anne was talking about Laura.

This paragraph also explains why Anthony treats Laura differently from others.

It turns out that he was dreaming about Lucy, and to some extent he mistook Laura for Lucy.

But it doesn't seem to be the case.
