1414 Hammerfall

The Holy See on Planet Hope 2 is a majestic city. The name of this city is Holy Church City. The city is built on a mountain, and the name of the mountain is called Holy Church Mountain.

Originally, the peaks here were undulating and it was a large continuous mountainous area, but now the place has completely changed beyond recognition.

Orbital bombing has changed the topography here and even changed the climate conditions here to a certain extent.

The once continuous mountain range was hit by two shells of astonishing mass, completely broken and turned into two separate peaks.

Now one peak is close to the Holy City that has become a ruin, and the other peak is bigger. This peak is now called Hammerfell Mountain.

This name was given by the swordsmen of the Heavenly Sword Shen Sect, because there are no so-called civilians nearby. It was originally hoped that the aborigines on Planet 2 would have moved away, and the remaining ones would have died in the war.

Because the weapons of the Airanhir Empire are too powerful, the surrounding targets are more deadly. The remaining part of the Holy City that was once prosperous because of the Holy See is no different from the ancient Loulan Kingdom in the desert.

Mountain peaks have turned into flat ground, and groundwater has even been evaporated and diverted by orbital attacks. The local soil has been completely gravelled, and most of the green vegetation has disappeared.

Looking around, the only things still surviving here are some small animals, weeds and shrubs.

Of course, there are still some forests, because the trees here haven't had time to die. They may wither soon, but the topography has changed too fast, so they still seem to be there now, standing there stubbornly at the end.

The Elanthir Empire has not launched an orbital attack on this area for a long time. After all, Elanthir does not want to spend too much time restoring governance when it takes back this place.

It is precisely because of this that the swordsmen of the Heavenly Sword Divine Sect, who took over this place from the retreating puppet troops of the Airanhir Empire, have managed to hold on until now.

Behind the dead tree trunks that had fallen down piece by piece, with few leaves left on them, the swordsmen of the Tianjian Shenzong stuck their heads out and looked at the enemies faintly returning from the distance, with expressions written all over their faces.

Bitter.

This is already the third attack this afternoon. The soldiers on the other side don't seem to be tired at all, but they just attack the Tianjian Shenzong's position again and again.

"Here we go again!" A middle-aged female swordsman looked at her flying sword that was almost losing its luster and complained angrily.

She could hear it without looking. When the opponent's army attacked, the noisy sound, the roar of the engine and the friction of the tracks, could be heard clearly from a long distance away.

"There is no way! These are not human beings at all! We are tired, but they don't know we are tired at all!" An old swordsman said to his fellow disciples in a depressed tone.

Behind them are the ruins of the Holy City. When Ailanthil's troops had just withdrawn from here, there were still some civilians here, so the swordsmen also called the ruins of the city the Holy City.

Although it is no longer of much use, the Holy City is an important defense node and it is necessary to continue to defend it no matter what.

What's more, after the occupation there, it has always been an important logistics supply base for the Tianjian Shenzong, and it is also an important place to resettle the wounded.

The swordsmen deployed here numbly began to prepare for the battle that was about to break out. After experiencing everything, they finally figured out why those damn puppets would take the initiative to give up the city behind them...

Yes, those puppets retreated solely to avoid accidental damage! After the opponent gave up the Holy City, they began a terrifying large-scale destructive attack.

The first thing that came was orbital bombing, followed by a round of nuclear bombs to clear the ground. Then there was orbital bombing again, and then there were localized poison gas and other missile attacks.

In short, the Eilanhill Empire regarded this place as an ideal place to dispose of weapons and ammunition that were about to expire. Moreover, they also threw many new weapons here for actual combat experiments to test the effectiveness of the weapons...

"Get ready to fight!" A leading swordsman squinted his eyes and stared at an M4 tank that was running over the corpse of a puppet through the black smoke from the fire that passed in front of him.

"Thud, tug, tug!" The puppet with the weapon started shooting at a distance of about 200 meters. The bullets hit the giant trees lying scattered on the battlefield, shattering the bark and splashing high.

Amidst the sawdust and bullets flying everywhere, two sword cultivators lying on the ground injected their spiritual energy into a magic weapon.

The magic weapon resonated, and then a huge shining flying sword was condensed and rushed towards the M4 tank that was crossing the obstacle in the distance.

"Boom!" With a deafening sound, the giant sword penetrated the front armor of the M4 tank, shaking the entire front armor steel plate and changing its shape.

The broken tracks fell off as the wheels rolled, and the puppets carrying weapons around them were also knocked to the ground by the shocking explosion.

The two swordsmen, who had exhausted their spiritual energy, threw away the shattered magic weapons in their hands, dug out of the crater where they were hiding under the hail of bullets, and fled towards their own positions.

One swordsman was shot in the back and fell directly on the edge of the crater, while the other swordsman luckily climbed over a fallen tree and escaped.

Before these swordsmen could rejoice, the barrel of another M4 tank spurted out a ball of flame.

The armor-piercing bullet directly penetrated a section of a tree trunk lying across the battlefield. The flying wood chips passed by the swordsman hiding behind the tree trunk in an instant, and pierced into the human body like shrapnel.

Although most people have spiritual energy to protect their bodies and their injuries are not serious, it is still inevitable that their clothes will be cut or their cheeks will be scratched by fine sawdust.

Seven or eight flying swords swept across the battlefield, and the heads of dozens of puppet battle robots were cut off in a flash of light. These puppets who had lost their heads fell slowly one after another. Before they could lie completely on the ground, they were trampled from behind.

The soles of the feet that came up stepped into the soil.

More puppet robots continued to move forward with weapons in hand. These cannon fodder puppets, whose combat effectiveness was not very terrifying in the puppet empire back then, were armed with bulletproof shells and equipped with assault rifles. Their combat effectiveness was more than doubled!

In the midst of the gunfire, a huge, spider-like machine crawled out from the reverse slope. This was the ultimate ground weapon of the Magic Empire, a war machine that was used in the war with the Elanthir Empire.
