Chapter nine hundred and eighteen on merit and deeds

When he thought of cause and effect, He Xie immediately stopped absorbing incense. He only absorbed one percent of a gourd of incense.

This gourd is pretty good at holding...

He Xie carefully realized the incense he had just absorbed, but at this time, in addition to feeling that his cultivation level had increased, both the discomfort of the swollen consciousness and the ultimate feeling of comfort had completely disappeared.

He hesitated slightly, but finally took a deep breath and resolutely gave up absorbing.

If it's just some three poisons and seven emotions, that's fine. But if he absorbs incense and has to bear the cause and effect for the Buddha, then he will be insensitive.

This is something He Xie doesn't understand at all. Even if there are traces of it, the cause and effect——

This thing is too complicated, and He Xie is extremely wary of this souvenir from the ancient world of Journey to the West.

In fact, He Xie knew very well that if the cause and effect was not so scary, he would have absorbed it, but if it was really that scary, he would be entangled in the cause and effect now.

He killed the pheasant spirit, the seven spiders, and the centipede spirit. Aren't these all causes and effects?

He joined the Western religion, attained the status of Arhat, and also acquired the Two Dragon Sword and the magical power of Soaring into the Clouds and Riding the Mist. This was all due to cause and effect.

As long as He Xie wants to gain something in this world, he cannot avoid the matter of cause and effect, but this is his cause and effect, and he will bear it if he takes it. He has no interest in carrying the thunder for others.

"Before you figure out whether absorbing incense is responsible for the Buddha's karma, it's best to stay away from it!" He Xie made a decision and put away the gourd again.

"It's time to go back and resume your life." He Xie made a gesture, and the clouds under his feet suddenly accelerated and headed towards the west.

At the same time, the Buddha on Lingshan Mountain seemed to be feeling something. He couldn't help but frown slightly, but then he smiled and shook his head and murmured: "He is quite an alert person."

Behind Lingshan Mountain, there is a short peak called Yuanjue Peak, and there is a temple in the mountain called Fazhuang Temple, which is the dojo of the ancient Buddha Randen.

At this moment, in the main hall of the temple, the lamp-burning Buddha is sitting on a lotus platform. Opposite him, three Bodhisattvas, Manjusri, Samantabhadra and Avalokitesvara, are sitting, all four of them frowning.

I don't know how much time passed, but Manjushri Bodhisattva suddenly said: "Lishan Dao friendly divination method, can you ask her to calculate the feet of the envoy of the Pure Altar?"

Deng Deng Buddha shook his head: "I'm afraid it's all in vain. Even if it counted originally, it doesn't count now."

The three Bodhisattvas are all speechless. They understand the meaning of the Lantern Buddha. The one sitting on the twelfth-grade lotus platform is the best at divination in the three realms. Even if they could calculate He Xie's heel and legs before,

Now that He Xie is paying attention to the Buddha, he will definitely cover up his secrets, which is not a big deal.

"A sudden change occurred out of nowhere..." Puxian Bodhisattva sighed, "I just don't know what to do, and I don't dare to offend the cause and effect."

As the saying goes, Bodhisattvas fear causes, and sentient beings fear consequences. An ignorant person was suddenly pardoned by the Buddha and made an Arhat, the messenger of the Pure Altar. Even though they were all giants of Western religions, they did not dare to take action rashly. Who knew that this unjust Arhat was standing behind him?

Who has to be?

"Could it be that he was sent by Taisu Tian?" Guanyin Bodhisattva asked hesitantly, "There are many demons in our religion, but there is no one who can achieve Buddhahood?"

These words made everyone's expressions change.

But immediately Manjusri Bodhisattva denied it and said: "Otherwise, that person has been in heaven for thousands of years, and her cause and effect is not small. Even the master was..."

He only spoke half of what he said and then kept silent, as if he had a lot of taboos.

"Let's put this matter down for now." Deng Deng Buddha slowly spoke, ending the topic.

I'm afraid He Xie didn't expect that because many big guys were not his followers, they became his biggest talisman, even if it was only temporary.

"Uncle Master," Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva looked at the Deng Deng Buddha, "the most urgent task is to rescue Jin Chanzi. He is a person who deserves the disaster, but now he is trapped in the Buddha's kingdom in the palm of his hand. Jin Chanzi does not eat incense.

There is no merit. Seeing that the Peach Fair is approaching, if I miss it again, I'm afraid it will hinder the big plan."

"This matter requires careful planning." Deng Deng Buddha frowned and said, "Jin Chanzi was impulsive this time, and got the result for nothing."

Manjushri Bodhisattva suddenly said: "Since the heavens are in chaos, it is better to send another demon into disaster and replace it with a golden cicada."

These words made everyone's expressions change.

Avalokitesvara said: "Then I need one with sufficient portion. Which one is suitable?"

The other three people's faces changed at the same time, they looked at each other and couldn't help but smile. Obviously, they thought of the same monster.

Ran Deng smiled and said: "This animal was once the Winged Immortal of Penglai Island. It was greedy and easy to kill. It almost dried up all the water in the world. It took me a lot of effort to subdue it before I transformed into a Buddha. I'm afraid that this

I am very embarrassed, so it is just right to look at each other with disgust."

"Good." The other three Bodhisattvas all said with smiles, reaching a consensus.

At the Great Arhat Temple in Baiyun Peak, He Xie met Ananda again.

Ananda said with a smile on his face: "The merits of subduing the demons this time have been completed, and the envoy will definitely be blessed. I am very happy and congratulated."

He Xie replied: "My Buddha is merciful, but this poor monk is just following orders, so I feel ashamed."

Ananda nodded: "If you have achieved Arhat status, you can open a temple and build a temple. There is a peak on this Lingshan Mountain. The Buddha has issued a decree and allocated the Bukong Peak to you."

Will this solve the problem of housing?

He Xie was startled and hurriedly thanked him again.

After thinking about it, He Xie took out two gourds of incense, cast a spell and sent it to Ananda, saying: "This is what I got from subduing demons. The poor monks dare not keep it privately, but they are specially offered to me, the Buddha."

Ananda was stunned for a moment, took a deep look at He Xie, and accepted it without saying anything.

He also took out a golden armor and said: "The envoy's hard work has made great achievements. The Buddha is very happy and has given you the golden armor. Please accept it."

He Xie looked at the golden light armor floating in front of him and was a little surprised, but after thinking about it, it made sense.

Perhaps his greatest achievement this time was not killing the seven spider spirits, but playing tricks on the golden cicada.

"This armor is made from the shell of an evil tortoise that has been practicing cultivation for 30,000 years in the Western Sea," Ananda introduced. "This ghost did many evil things during his lifetime, devouring tens of thousands of sentient beings, and his sins were heinous. Three hundred years ago, the Buddha personally went to the Western Sea

, crossed this demon. This armor is invulnerable to water and fire, even Taiyi Golden Immortal cannot break it, it is extremely useful."

He Xie was a little surprised and hurriedly put away the treasure armor and said: "Thank you Buddha for giving me the treasure."

"You deserve it." Ananda smiled, "Just step back and someone will take you to Bukong Peak."

"Yes, venerable." He Xie thought for a while and asked: "Sir, this time the poor monk was ordered to subdue the demon, but on the way he was blocked by the female king of the Western Liang Kingdom and the elder Jin Chan. I don't know why.

?”

Ananda shook his head and said: "Jin Chanzi has been punished by the Buddha. The cause and effect of this matter is over. You don't need to worry about it anymore."

As expected, He Xie stopped asking questions, saluted again, turned around and left.

After leaving the door, the monk from before came forward and saluted: "Envoy, Master ordered me to take the envoy to Bukong Peak. Please come with the envoy."

"Thank you." He Xie quietly handed the bhikkhu a piece of gold.
