Chapter 14 The Druid's Choice

The morning market in the small town was much more prosperous than Yi Chun imagined.

When Yi Chun walked into the soundproof door, he could feel the sound rising by several decibels instantly.

Those noisy sounds made the surrounding temperature seem to rise a lot.

Just like the market many years ago, those active here are basically over 40 years old.

During the years of working in the small town, Yi Chun had never set foot here.

On the other hand, the braised meat shop outside the morning market is a place that Yi Chun often visits.

Under the town's updated cleaning system, the blood mixed with grease and fishy odor was quickly cleaned up.

But even so, when there is a large flow of people, there is still some odor in the air.

After all, it is a vegetable market, and requiring it to be tasteless is a bit beyond the current standards of the town.

Compared with these, Yi Chun could feel the complex messages flowing in the air.

Fear, hunger, irritability...

Compared with the monotonous and simple message of plants, those animals waiting to be slaughtered send out extremely strong signals.

Yi Chun passed by a shop that sold meat rabbits, and he could see some messages of desire in the eyes of the caged meat rabbits.

They are afraid of death - the short screams of their captured companions and the sound of the knife slicing the throat...

Everything is deeply stimulating their souls.

Animals are not as smart as some humans think. In this world, humans have an advantage in intelligence that is unmatched by other creatures.

But it's not that stupid:

They know what death is...

"babble……"

As if it noticed Yi Chun's gaze, the meat rabbit roared with some unknown meaning.

Yi Chun knew why - under the power of wild identification, these beasts would maintain a relatively high level of recognition of him.

To put it simply, he is quite a pleasing sight among the crowd.

But that's just it. When actual interests are touched, this simple relationship has no substantive meaning.

"Buying a rabbit?"

When the owner of the meat rabbit shop saw that business was coming, he immediately put down the bloody waiter, wiped his hands and said hello.

"These rabbits are all brought from the pasture in the mountains next door. Go back and get some chili peppers to keep them strong!"

Seeing Yi Chun looking at the rabbit, the boss opened the cage and lifted the rabbit up.

"No, just looking..."

Yi Chun turned around and left.

In the understanding of many people, druids are people who save animals and have trouble with lumberjacks.

Or in many fantasy novels, they occasionally play the roles of prophets and victims of disaster.

But obviously, that's just part of the Druid profession.

In a wider field, druids have their own unique color.

Protect the core stability of nature and punish the unstable factors that affect nature.

Under this broad theme are more detailed and even mutually contradictory philosophical thoughts.

Yi Chun is just a first-time traveler on this road, and he has chosen a direction.

But it's just the direction. In that direction are the broad roads or the dangerous mountains.

Everything is still unknown...

Yi Chun's family once had a civet cat, which was a very fat civet cat.

Yi Chun once thought that its fur color should be orange.

It accompanied Yi Chun's family for nearly ten years, and it lasted through Yi Chun's memory for almost his entire childhood.

Later, one night it left and never came back...

Since then, Yi Chun no longer keeps cats at home.

"I don't want to, and I don't need to feed anything anymore..."

Yi Chun thought so.

When you raise certain creatures for loneliness or other reasons.

You need to understand - when the cold death takes it away, you will pay more price...

And if you drive them for profit, you don't need to pay anything.

Unfortunately, Yi Chun does not exist like this...

Nothing happened. Yi Chun bought a large bag of green onion seeds from an aunt's stall in the morning market.

Because of the limitations of his current conditions, he could only choose this relatively convenient plant as an experiment.

Yi Chun is not impatient, he has regained his composure now.

It was as if the patience of hunting mice in the dark began to settle in his consciousness.

Then, Yi Chun started his day's work...

…………

…………

Today a couple came to register, and Yi Chun went through the marriage formalities for them.

To be honest, this is probably the most satisfying position where I can eat dog food.

Of course, sometimes we can't help but see some regrettable scenes.

Human emotions seem to be the most sincere and pure at this time.

Once upon a time, Yi Chun was quite envious of this.

And now?

Yi Chun transformed into an orange cat and walked around the room.

Sometimes he jumped over the small table in the room, sometimes he tried to walk on the wall.

The cat's agility allows it to complete many actions that the human body cannot.

But obviously, this room is too narrow for a tabby cat.

Even ordinary activities seem too narrow.

After hesitating for a while, Yi Chun opened the door leading to the balcony.

As the door slowly opened, the light from outside shone in.

With the drastic change in light, Yi Chun's pupils suddenly changed dramatically.

Compared to a human's perspective, a cat's perspective is obviously much lower.

Those once distinct images have become somewhat softer.

Yi Chun knew that this should be due to the difference in visible colors between cat eyes and human eyes.

Yi Chun ran directly to the balcony and squatted down next to the pot where the onion seeds had just been planted.

Then, he let out the first roar belonging to this body to the world:

"Meow……"

The sudden meowing of a cat made the pedestrians downstairs look up.

After saying something like, "This orange cat is so thin," most of them left.

Yi Chun ignored them, enjoying this alien feeling.

Perhaps there are some differences between cats' senses and human senses, but Yi Chun feels that the rough balcony is extremely comfortable.

Of course, maybe it's because the temperature of the daytime sun still remains on it.

As night falls, the ancient genes lurking under the cat's body begin to take effect.

Yi Chun began to feel energetic and not at all tired after a long day's work.

There seems to be some strange smell in the air. It should be the smell of the pets living nearby.

Compared with those varieties that have undergone artificial genetic selection, Yichun, a wild existence, should obviously be eliminated.

Natural selection sometimes does not lie in killing and hunting abilities.

After human civilization dominated the world, creatures had new evolutionary choices.

But, this does not include Yi Chun...

"It smells like mice..."

Suddenly, Yi Chun suddenly opened his half-closed eyes.

He seemed to smell something familiar...
