Chapter 233: Reported, opened opposite

There has been no sound of shells all day.

The last line of defense in front of the Eastern Border, the Begalo Mountain Fortress, this dangerous pass was originally the absolute natural danger of Gragus, a barrier that protected the royal city from threats from the Eastern Border.

But now it is used as a rebel fortress. Its terrain is steep and it is built in a huge stone mountain. Attacking from the bottom up is a nightmare for any army.

In the Begallo Fortress, the guards at the top of the city felt something was wrong:

"Have those crazy witches' artillery array stopped?"

Those crazy witches wanted to bombard the fortress with cannonballs twenty-four hours a day. They had done this in the past few days, but not today.

Guard Archie noticed something was wrong and quickly told the guards to take it seriously. He quickly walked down the city wall to the headquarters.

They have fought against crazy witches many times. Except for the one in Riverdale Town, what these witches love most is the cannon formation.

"When the enemy behaves abnormally, there must be changes."

There are good and bad changes, some are made to force the opponent to make changes to expose weaknesses, and some are useless.

No matter what the thoughts of those crazy witches were, it was always the command that made the decision... As Archie was thinking, he had already walked to the command headquarters.

The Begallo Mountain Fortress is not big, and wooden barrels containing inferior bread can be seen everywhere, stored in a simple way.

There are dozens of barrels piled in the corner of the headquarters.

The map table next to the corner was already filled with daggers. Several middle-aged men with unshaven beards were sitting there. The rebel leaders, who were high-spirited just a few days ago, looked serious and tired, with bloodshot eyes. Next to them sat an equally tired staff officer.

.

Archie knew that the leaders had been discussing for several days in order to defend the last eastern defense line. Even soldiers who were illiterate and ignorant of the overall situation knew:

As the front line moves further and further back, the food becomes worse and worse, and it becomes increasingly difficult to replenish equipment.

The soldiers have reduced their meals from three meals a day to one and a half meals a day, leaving only the high morale of "everything will be fine" to support their physical deficiencies.

Damn monster! Damn crazy witch... Archie cursed in his heart and saluted the tired leaders:

"General, there is something urgent to report."

Julius, one of the leaders, rubbed his temples. The handsome blond man was now unshaven and unshaven, closer to an ordinary rebel.

He raised his eyebrows, took a long breath and said:

"Say it, soldier."

"We observed the enemy's shelling waves..." Archie narrated clearly. As he narrated, he quietly observed the people in the room. As expected, he did not see Saint Vera.

This made the haze in his heart deepen even more.

Although Vera did not often participate in military meetings in the past, she still occasionally appeared in the headquarters, holding the holy sword and thinking.

But it seems like it hasn't happened recently.

After Archie expressed his concerns about those crazy witches, Julius covered his head, frowned, and looked back at the map on the table:

"No matter what they want to do, it will be difficult for us to bear it... Amos, what do you think?"

His hair seems a little pale recently, and Amos, who is showing signs of fatigue, shakes his head:

"I don't know... maybe we can ask Vera to organize a 12-horse reconnaissance cavalry to investigate..."

As he spoke, he blinked uncomfortably, stretched out his hand to touch his forehead, and felt sweaty, and said in confusion:

"Damn squirrel, why is the weather getting hotter and hotter? Shouldn't it be the cold season now... We are still in the mountains."

"Since yesterday...our wizard said it was some kind of ghost, and you can feel the elements in the air increasing..." Julius shrugged and joked to Amos and the soldier Archie, "...it's also possible

It’s the excuse those wizards used after they were beaten stupid by those crazy witches.”

The corners of Amos' mouth moved, and he was about to smile in response to the joke.

Suddenly, a terrifying shock exploded from far away, not far away!

The entire Begallo Mountain Fortress shook violently, the mountains shook and the ground shook. Various objects hanging on the walls of the staff headquarters were all shaken down. Staff officers, guards, and rebel leaders were also overturned to the ground. There was one

The unlucky guy was nailed to the ground by the chandelier that had been rolled down, and the ground was stained with blood.

boom!

Boom!

There were loud noises, explosions, and earthquakes.

Then screams and screams followed one after another!

Amos only felt as if his whole body had been smashed. In the confusion, he held on to the wall, grinned and sat up. He carefully touched the bottom of his ears, where his hands were wet...

He felt something bad in his heart, and his world seemed to fall into silence.

"Amos! Amos!"

A weak voice came over, and he turned his head blankly and saw Julius shouting at him, his voice extremely weak.

He nodded reluctantly and said without being able to distinguish his own voice:

"here!"

Through Julius's mouth shape, he probably read that the other party was talking about going out together, so he nodded again, stood up holding on to the already cracked wall, and walked out of the headquarters while supporting each other.

He turned his head and saw Archie, the veteran who had just informed them of the news, lying under the table, his messy black hair hanging in almost black blood.

They walked out of the command room, Amos' hearing barely recovered, and their eyes turned to the fortress wall not far away.

Amos was frightened by what he saw, and he felt a sense of despair in his heart.

The impregnable fortress walls were destroyed!

The city wall, which was the second thickest and second tallest in all of Gragos, had only broken bricks and huge gaps left. Various stones and the remains of sentry towers were scattered on the ground.

In addition, there were charred corpses and soldiers in the area behind the fortress wall that were affected. Most of them had painful expressions and groaned in pain.

And at the gap in the fortress, countless demons poured in.

"Hahahahaha!" The crazy witches rode their brooms and let out crazy laughter, hovering in the sky in groups!

A few crazy witches waved their hands, and a thick green-gray fog exploded among the injured soldiers.

After several screams, there was no trace of living people in the thick fog.

Some witches swooped down among the soldiers, their eyes flashed with pink light, and the soldiers laughed foolishly, picked up their weapons and stabbed their colleagues' bodies.

Another witch waved her hand, and a mark that gave off a "flame" feeling exploded in the crowd, turning the shield-holding soldier into a ball of twisted flesh and blood, which was smelted together with the mostly melted armor and shield.

Hell! This is living hell!

Wherever Amos looked, there were flames, ice, lightning, demons, undead, monsters, as if all the vicious methods of those witches were brought out at once! They were slaughtering the rebel soldiers wantonly!

He saw a veteran who was familiar with him, holding a huge tower shield, and another veteran with a gun, forming a combat team to meet a fallen witch.

This tactic was taught by Amos and could withstand the powerful firepower carried by those crazy witches.

The witch glanced at the combat team, showed a bright and cruel smile, waved her hand, and two stone walls emerged from the sides of the two veterans...

No!

Before Amos could shout, the witch covered her mouth and smiled. She squeezed it with one hand and muttered a word related to "earth". The stone wall turned into earth and drowned the two people in one breath.

veteran.

With the sound of acid teeth, two deformed skulls fell out of the soil.

Similar scenes abound throughout the defense zone, and all previous response plans have expired!

Amos stared blankly, his face felt moist, and he realized that his tears were flowing down unconsciously.

A sour and painful feeling lingered in my heart.

"Retreat! Let's retreat!" Julius pulled him and shouted loudly.

Elite guards rushed forward to cover the retreat of the leader and staff.

Today, Begallo fell.
