Chapter 745: Flicking Xuanzang

Master Xuanzang's eyes widened: "This poor monk has never heard of Mahayana Buddhism. May I ask the donor, what is 'Mahayana Buddhism'?"

It's easy to deal with if you haven't heard of it.

Li Mu cleared his throat and his expression became enigmatic. Seeing him like this, Master Xuanzang hurriedly bowed again and said: "I beg the donor to clear up my doubts!"

"It's not impossible to clear up the confusion, but you have to swear that what I say to you today, you can't tell anyone in your life."

Master Xuanzang said without hesitation: "The poor monk swears that what the donor said today will never be mentioned to anyone. If you violate this oath, you will fall into the Abi Hell after death and will never be reincarnated."

Such an oath is already very heavy for a Buddhist. Seeing that the heat was almost over, Li Mu continued: "I wonder if Master has heard anything about me. There are rumors in the market that I am an immortal.

Reincarnation, knowing it from birth——"

Master Xuanzang said hurriedly: "Although the poor monk has been in Chang'an not long ago, he has already heard a lot about the benefactor. The reincarnation of immortals is a Taoist saying. In Buddhism, we call it 'Wisdom Root'.

"Whatever you say, there is no need to go into details." Li Mu waved his hand and said, "However, I am indeed a bit mysterious." Li Mu paused for a moment, as if he was still hesitating whether to say it or not. Finally, he gritted his teeth and said

: "Well, now that I've said it, let's just say it. To be honest, I dreamed of Guanyin."

"Who?" Master Xuanzang was stunned and asked repeatedly: "The donor is talking about Guanyin Bodhisattva?"

"That's right." Li Mu nodded, very seriously. He wanted to fool him a few more words, but he didn't expect that Xuanzang didn't doubt it at all, and said repeatedly: "It turns out that he was inspired by the Bodhisattva. No wonder the donor's Buddha nature is so profound!"

Li Mu was speechless. Who said Master Xuanzang was honest? Didn't he have scheming intentions? I already have Buddha nature, and it is so profound. It is really far-fetched. However, Li Mu didn't care. It was a good thing that he didn't doubt it, which saved him a lot of words.

"In the dream, I was entrusted by Your Majesty to hold a land and water meeting at Ci'en Temple to redeem the soldiers who died in the battle. While doing so, a Laitou monk suddenly came. Later I found out that this Laitou monk was the incarnation of a Bodhisattva.

But I didn’t know that at the time.”

"The monk is holding two treasures in his hand. One is a cassock with seven shining treasures on it. The other is a Zen staff decorated with nine rings, which is dazzling. The two treasures look extraordinary. I am far away.

I saw it and was curious, so I was about to talk to him and ask, but someone beat me to it."

Xuanzang asked curiously: "Who is he?"

"It is Abbot Yongxin of Ci'en Temple."

Xuanzang was silent, and Li Mu continued: "Abbot Yongxin is rich and powerful. How could he not be moved after seeing the seven-treasure cassock and the nine-ring tin staff? When he saw it, he went over and asked the lazy monk how much the two treasures were worth."

Xuanzang asked curiously: "What did the Bodhisattva say?"

"The Laitou monk said that the cassock is worth five thousand taels of silver and the tin staff is worth two thousand taels of silver."

Xuanzang took a breath of air. He was a scholarly monk among the monks. Although he didn't eat like Monk You Fang, he didn't finish his meal, but he didn't think he had seen big money. Five thousand

Two pieces of silver was a figure he could not imagine.

"How can Abbot Yongxin be a fool? When he saw this monk saying this, he just thought he was a lion. He immediately became angry and cursed: This leper monk is a madman and a fool! These two coarse things were sold for seven thousand

Two taels of silver? But unless you wear the body and become immortal, you have to become a Buddha and become an ancestor, so it’s not worth so much!”

Hearing that Abbot Yongxin insulted the Bodhisattva, Xuanzang chanted the Buddha's name repeatedly, with a look of shame on his face, and said: "Abbot Yongxin disobeys the Bodhisattva, it is really a sin, a sin."

Li Mu continued: "The Bodhisattva will naturally not argue with him. He ignored him and continued to move forward. Now he came in front of me."

"The donor bought these two treasures?"

"Not really." Li Mu explained: "Seven thousand taels of silver, although it is a lot, is nothing to me. Of course I can afford the money, but I am not a monk. I need cassocks and

What is the use of the tin staff? I was just curious. I also asked the price of the cassock and the tin staff, and Monk Laitou said the same thing as before. So I asked him what I was curious about and what was special about these two things.

The place is worth the price.”

"Can Bodhisattva tell you?"

Li Mu nodded and said: "I've said it. The original words are like this: cassocks have advantages and disadvantages; there are places where you need money and there are places where you don't need money."

"Of course I asked him, what is good and what is bad? The Bodhisattva explained: If you wear my cassock, you will not fall into destruction, hell, evil, or encounter the den of tigers and wolves. This is a benefit; if you are greedy and lustful

Foolish monks who enjoy misfortune, monks who do not fast and abstain from precepts, ordinary people who slander scriptures and slander the Buddha will not get these benefits even if they get my cassock, which is not good again."

"I asked him again why he wanted money and why he didn't want money. The Bodhisattva also explained: If you don't follow the Buddha's teachings and don't respect the Three Jewels, you forcefully buy a cassock and a tin stick, which must be sold for seven thousand taels. This is asking for money; if you respect the Three Jewels

"Rejoice when you see good things, take refuge in my Buddha, and if you can afford it, you will give away your cassock and tin staff for free to form a good relationship. This means that you don't need money."

Xuanzang was already fascinated by what he heard and murmured: "So that's what happened."

Li Mu's storyteller also got better and better, and continued: "At that time, I thought, although I do not believe in Buddhism, your Majesty was doing something for the spirits of the heroes who died in the war, and happened to meet this strange monk and these two treasures.

Is there anything involved? So I told the monk that if he wanted to sell these two treasures, I could introduce him to a customer, but I was afraid that he would not dare to meet him."

"The monk said he dared, so I took him into the palace and met His Majesty. But after meeting His Majesty, he did not mention the cassocks and Zen staff, but talked about the Land and Water Conference."

Xuanzang had a premonition that he was about to reach a crucial point, so he asked anxiously: "Did the Bodhisattva mention Mahayana Buddhism?"

Li Mu glared at him with some displeasure and said, "Why are you so anxious? We haven't arrived yet,"

Xuanzang immediately stopped talking, and then Li Mu continued: "The Bodhisattva asked Your Majesty what sutras were taught at the Water and Land Conference. Your Majesty said it one by one, but the Bodhisattva said, these are Hinayana Buddhism. Hinayana teachings cannot be saved.

The soul of the dead can be transcended only by being pure and light. If you want to transcend the soul of the dead, you must obtain Mahayana Buddhism."

Xuanzang couldn't bear it anymore and asked: "What is so magical about Mahayana Buddhism?"

"The Bodhisattva says: He can transcend the dead and ascend to heaven, he can help people in trouble and escape suffering, he can cultivate his body for infinite life, he can do things that have no coming and no going."

Xuanzang murmured: "If this is true, it is a supremely wonderful method."

"The Bodhisattva also explained that Hinayana Buddhism focuses on the individual. If it goes astray, it will become selfish. Mahayana Buddhism, on the other hand, takes the mission of saving all living beings. As long as you have the intention to turn to the Buddha, you can save them. In short,

Hinayana Buddhism saves oneself, Mahayana Buddhism saves others, sacrifice oneself for others. Only by serving others can one save oneself."

When Xuanzang heard this, he was yearning for it and asked: "Can the Bodhisattva point out the place where this Mahayana Dharma is located?"

Li Mu shook his head and said, "I woke up later. Of course I don't know what happened next."

"Then I'll ask Your Majesty!" Xuanzang was already crazy. He was about to walk out. Li Mu quickly grabbed him and said, "You monk, are you confused? This is my dream, not Your Majesty's."

What can you ask Your Majesty about the dream you have? I am just saying this to say that I can point out the shortcomings of the monks of Ci'en Temple because the Bodhisattva pointed out the shortcomings of Hinayana Buddhism, which is that selfishness easily breeds.

You will be greedy. That’s why so many things that go against Buddhist principles will appear. Therefore, it must be time to change.”

"But if you want to change, you must have Mahayana Buddhism." Xuanzang was obviously confused: "Where is Mahayana Buddhism now? Why doesn't the donor sleep a little longer, even if he asks clearly where Mahayana Buddhism is?

!”

Li Mu said displeased: "You monk are so unreasonable. Why don't you blame Bodhisattva? If he had spoken faster, wouldn't I have remembered it?"

Xuanzang said excitedly: "How can the Bodhisattva be blamed? What the donor said makes no sense!"

"Oh, you know how to defend it." Li Mu snorted and said, "Monk, you have to thank me. Without me, a person with profound Buddha nature, you wouldn't even know the four words of Mahayana Buddhism. As for it

Where are you? Why didn't I sleep more? I have to ask the Bodhisattva. Maybe it's because I only have so much Buddha nature, and it's not enough to know where the Dharma is hidden. Or there's no fate. After all, I'm not a monk. Maybe

Bodhisattva didn’t want to tell me?”

"This..." Xuanzang was stunned for a moment, sighed dejectedly, and said: "The fate of the law, the fate of the law, it is true, the Buddha's fate is not enough,"

"That's right," Li Mu patted him on the shoulder and said, "I'm not a monk, right? Maybe the Bodhisattva just wants me to tell you the news. Why don't you go back first? Maybe the Bodhisattva will go to the dream tonight

Looking for you."

Xuanzang shook his head and said: "No, the Bodhisattva is so virtuous and powerful. If you want to entrust your dream to me, why should you leave it to someone else? The poor monk's relationship with Buddha is not as good as that of the donor." After a pause, Xuanzang suddenly saluted.

After paying homage, Li Mu quickly helped him up and said, "Master, why are you doing this? You don't owe me anything, so what are you doing with this big gift?"

"Donor, the poor monk implores the benefactor, if you dream of Bodhisattva next time, you must ask where the Mahayana Buddhism is hidden. Even if it is the eighteenth level of hell, the poor monk must invite the Mahayana Buddhism back to change the decadence of Buddhism in the Central Plains.

Qi!"

"You are ambitious!" Li Mu praised him and said, "Now it's clear! Master, don't leave tonight. I'll arrange a table with you right away. I won't come back until I'm drunk!"

When Xuanzang heard that he wanted to drink, he hurriedly said: "Donor, drinking is the first major precept for monks. It is absolutely not allowed. It is getting late, and the poor monk has to rush back to Ci'en Temple. If he is bothered by Wang Haihan, he will leave now.

Already."

Li Mu said hypocritically: "Wine is also made from grain, and it doesn't have any meaty smell, so why can't it be made? Master, you should stay."

Xuanzang refused repeatedly, so Li Mu had no choice but to send him away. Yixiu watched helplessly, wanting to ask what Li Mu and Xuanzang had said. He turned around three times, but Li Mu ignored him and walked away angrily.

After sending the two monks away, Li Mugang wanted to rest for a while. Someone from the Ministry of Rites came and brought a tailor. After asking, he found out that they were going to make him clothes. The coronation ceremony was coming soon. For such a formal occasion, of course, there must be a tailor.

Rules. Now that Li Mu has been granted the title of Marquis of Che, and has become the heir of King Xi, his status is already different, and his clothes will naturally change as well.

According to common sense, Li Mu should wear purple robes regardless of whether he is a third-rank official. At the same time, he belongs to a clan, and gold thread can be worn on the purple robe. But after he was granted the title of Chehou, the situation was different. Chehou was the title of the princes.

First of all, according to the etiquette, you can wear cloud patterns. In addition, Li Mu became the prince's heir, and Li Shimin specially gave him a python pattern. The clothes were changed again and again, and they had to step up, otherwise it would be too late.

Li Mu didn't care much about the gold thread python pattern. If it weren't for etiquette requirements, he would just wear the clothes he usually wears when going out, and he wouldn't think anything of it. But since the court has requirements, in order to take the overall situation into consideration, he still

It was tailor-made very well.

After all the hard work, as the sun set in the west, Li Mu lay down on the recliner and rested, quite bored. Suddenly, he realized why he was bored. It turned out that his three wives were not at home. Not only Zhang Tianai and Jin Chen were not there, but Bai Qiaoqiao didn't know either.

Where have you gone?

Zhang Tianai was messing around with Jin Yiwei, and Jin Chen was rehearsing in Lichun Courtyard. Li Mu, who left early and returned late, knew the reason, but where had Bai Qiaoqiao gone? With such a big belly, where could she go?

"Xiaozhu!" Li Mu pulled his neck and shouted: "Xiaozhu, come here quickly!"

Xiaozhu has now become the head of Feng Qiuhuang and is always in the front hall. But when Li Mu calls her, she still has to come over. She trots over and complains: "Master Hou, there are still many guests in front of you. You call me like this."

How rude."

"What the hell? Li Mu doesn't really care about the gold thread python pattern. If it weren't for etiquette requirements, he would just wear the clothes he usually wears when going out, and he wouldn't think anything of it. But since the court has requirements, in order to take the overall situation into consideration

, he was still very cooperative and tailor-made the clothes.
