Chapter 1048 One Day

Almost at the same time that the Administrative Army moved north, nearly 10,000 sergeants, mainly on the right wing of the Effectiveness Army, also started taking action.

They are divided into several parts.

More than 3,000 people along the way were transferred to Xitun in Linli County, Xiangzhou. After receiving supplies, with the support of Xiangzhou Master, they marched westward and entered the Taihang Mountains.

Their target is Xuxing Ridge.

This ridge is located in the Yuxiaguan area in the southeast of Pingshun County in later generations. During the Guo Dynasty, there was a small road leading to Linlu County. The road was in disrepair for a long time and was narrow and cramped. Only a few merchants traveling between Linlin and Luzhou passed by.

This road cannot support the logistics supply of the army, nor can it deploy its troops. The reason why the Xiaojie Army attacked here is to put pressure on the Jin army. According to previous intelligence, the Jin people's defense here is very weak, with only a few beacons.

Just for surveillance, the latest large-scale garrison is still in Huguan County, Luzhou - Huguan County, not ancient Huguan.

On the second route, more than 3,000 warriors from the Jiefang Army went north to Xiuwu and the Taihang Mountain Road between Gongcheng to attack Baixing.

The remaining two thousand soldiers and horses are stationed in Gongcheng County to provide assistance at any time.

The right wing of Tianxiong's army that was originally guarding Gongcheng has been transferred eastward to Liyang, and the Weizhou soldiers are also under their command.

Tianxiong's army on the left side set out from Huaizhou, mobilized three infantry commanders, plus 4,000 Huaizhou native regiment countrymen, and went north to Taihangxing, fighting and advancing.

None of these three groups of troops expected to achieve anything.

The terrain restrictions are there. Unless the enemy flees without fighting, it will be difficult for them to cross even if the Tu Tuan villagers guard the pass. But their actions are still valuable and can continue to put pressure on the Jin army and divide the enemy.

Their military strength is still good even if they only contain a few thousand people.

The Xiaojie Army on the right wing, the Tianxiong Army on the left wing, plus the Tielin Army in the direction of Cishui and various soldiers and horses on the Daibei Grassland, there are five armies in the feint attack, and the momentum is huge. Those who do not understand the battlefield situation will see it at first glance

, thinking that the Xia people were launching a war to destroy Hedong.

After the feint offensive line started, Shao Shude appointed Lu Huaizhong, the military envoy from Wuwei, as the former enemy's formation envoy. He was actually the commander-in-chief of the former enemy and was responsible for the implementation of specific tactics in the direction of Cizhou.

Lu Huaizhong was not polite. After receiving the order, he appointed Li Yixian, the deputy envoy of the Wuwei Army, as the Qingdao beheading envoy. He set out from Zimo Town to build a pontoon bridge and forcibly cross the Fu River.

Today is July 12th, and the pontoon bridge has been built. After drinking Zhuangxing wine, more than a thousand soldiers of the Wuwei Army threw their bowls down and rushed forward with a roar.

The pontoon bridge is only two or three steps wide, and it is still a little swaying. Without the ability to deploy our troops, it is actually very difficult to rush to the other side.

However, the Jinlue Army's sudden advance into Cheng'an suddenly disrupted the Jin army's defensive deployment. A large number of troops near Fuyang were mobilized eastward to attack the Jinglue Army that had already crossed the river. The Fu River merged into the Zhuozhang River in the southeast of Fuyang.

Cheng'an was located to the north of the Zhuozhang River, and the Jin army occupied Cheng'an. The value of the Jin army's defense line against the Zhuozhang River was greatly reduced.

Now, Li Keyong is probably even thinking about killing Luo Shaowei. If you can't guard it, Cheng An should have said it earlier, I will guard it!

But everything has already happened, and it is a fait accompli that the flood defense line will be useless within a day.

When the pontoon bridge was built on the other side, only a few troops were sent from the Fuyang direction to intercept it. The two sides fought fiercely on the river bank, and the sound of killing was loud.

One party came from the pontoon bridge and could not deploy its troops, but there was a steady stream of subsequent troops, and the sergeants fought desperately.

One party intercepted them on the shore, and the large army formed a small army formation, but the strength was insufficient. With just a few people, one person died and the other died.

This is a life-and-death battle for the ferry. There is no room for retreat. Those who are not willing to fight are not worthy of participating in this fight. Those who are weak-minded will be frightened by the layers of corpses on the ferry and wet their pants.

The first wave of people who charged were all lost under the dense arrows and tight military formation of the Jin army.

The second wave of chargers endured huge casualties and rushed into the Jin army's formation. They fought desperately, burning their own lives and disrupting the enemy's defense.

The third wave of charging people followed, armed with spears and heavy swords. After the second wave of warriors were all dead, they charged bravely and directly broke up the enemy's already shaky formation.

What a desperate fight! The brave one wins when they meet on a narrow road, and the ferry has been firmly controlled.

Lu Huaizhong stood on a high platform on the south bank of the water, his face expressionless.

After twenty years of fighting, he has seen a lot of killings. He has seen more brutal sieges than this countless times. Now, in his eyes, human life is just that.

On weekdays, he cares about his soldiers and cares about them, but at critical moments, he throws in elite soldiers without blinking an eye, driving them to fight the enemy and letting them die, without feeling any psychological guilt.

Perhaps, this is the so-called mature general.

Cao Songruo, one of the Five Elders, is here and sighs again, "One general's success can lead to thousands of bones drying up."

The officers and soldiers of the Wuwei Army who defeated the enemy did not pursue and fight foolishly. They knew their mission very well, which was to protect the ferry and allow more friendly troops and supplies to cross the river. Next, they had to besiege Fuyang.

The city cannot be lowered, like a thorn in the back. If we advance, we cannot attack Handan and Xingzhou, and if we retreat, we cannot save the army. No matter what, we have to pull this thing out first.

"The order was sent to Duyuhou Li Zhong to lead two infantrymen and two cavalrymen to march towards Fukou."

"With the order, Du Youyi envoy An Xiuxiu led four cavalry to bypass Fuyang and go north to harass the Jin people."

"The order was sent to the left wing. The military envoy He Wei led six infantrymen and two cavalrymen, and went down the Fu River to join the Jinglue Army."

"Send the order, General Tuo will cross the river in batches without making any mistakes."

The orders were sent out like a stream of water.

It can be seen that Lu Huaizhong is very determined. The main force is to cross the river. Whoever stops me will kill them!

****

In the west of Cheng'an County, the tentative attack has just ended.

The guard Jin Qianzhi commanded Murong Teng, whose face was solemn, and he was already thinking of retreating.

This unit is mainly composed of Zhenji sergeants - the source of troops is only Chengde Town, not Chengde warriors - a total of 5,000 infantry and 500 cavalry.

Murong Teng brought about 4,000 people, and the remaining 1,500 were used to monitor Fu Shui.

He originally thought that the Xia army was a small force raiding Cheng'an, and thought that the battle would still have to be fought. But as soon as he came over, he found that the number of Xia soldiers who crossed the Zhuozhang River definitely exceeded 5,000, and there were almost as many as 1,000 soldiers on the south bank of the pontoon.

With this number, the total number of troops exceeds 10,000, and a camp has been set up. It is definitely not something he can capture with the few troops he has.

But now that he's here, he can't just leave without firing a shot. If he can't explain it, he will most likely be punished by military law. Therefore, he ordered a wave of attacks, and the target was the left wing of the Imperial Army's military commander Lu Ming.

Camp.

The result of the battle was very unsatisfactory.

The people guarding the camp were determined and well-equipped with weapons. Even when they failed to retreat, they dared to select elite soldiers to go out to chase them. Murong Teng had to personally lead a counterattack before pushing them back.

He even suspected that the number of Xia soldiers guarding the camp was not less than three thousand, not much less than him. In this case, there was no hope of victory.

"This battle cannot be fought. I want to withdraw my troops. What do you think?" Murong Teng summoned his generals for discussion and asked.

"Where does the commander want to retreat to?" This is the question that everyone is most concerned about.

"There's probably already a fight on Yang's side." Murong Teng sighed and said, "If you go back, you might end up in a trap, which is not the best idea.

Everyone nodded, this is the reason.

"I want to." Murong Teng was about to speak when he saw his general walking over quickly and reported: "Commander, a messenger came from Fuyang, saying that Xia soldiers crossed the river in large numbers and defeated my remaining troops.

Pounce at the foot of Cizhou City."

"How many traitors are there?" Before Murong Teng could speak, the impatient general had already asked.

"It's boundless. It's hard to estimate. I'm afraid it's no less than 10,000 people, or even more. This is on the north bank, in the Yin of Fu River. There are more thieves, probably no less than 30,000." The general said.

Everyone was silent. With so many soldiers, they would not be able to do anything if they went back. They were afraid that they would be defeated in just one encounter.

There are still more than 3,000 state soldiers in Fuyang City, led by Li Junqing, the governor of Cizhou. There are also 5,000 native soldiers from Cizhou counties who have been recruited, for a total of more than 8,000 soldiers.

With this small number of soldiers, it is useless to kill people in the field.

In Fukou Town in the northwest of Zhaoyi County, there are still six to seven thousand people in the Huangjia Army and Shi Jun's troops in front of the hall, but they may not dare to attack Xia's army when the momentum is strong.

"I have decided to withdraw our troops!" Murong Teng said: "I have a hunch that if we delay any longer, we may be attacked from two sides or even surrounded from the west, and we will miss the final opportunity to retreat.

"Retreat to where?"

"Is it okay to retreat? King Ruo Jin will be furious."

"The enemy is outnumbered and we are outnumbered. This battle was fought in a haphazard manner. The water defense line was broken down in one day, and it is not my fault."

"The commander is right, it will be too late if we don't leave."

The military academies were frightened and said one after another.

"Everyone, the guard's golden spear is aimed at thousands of warriors. You can't do it easily." Murong Teng cleared his throat, and just after saying half a sentence, he heard a loud noise outside, and then there was the sound of golden drums, and the sound of golden drums drifting in from the south wind.

A clear cry of death.

"Military envoy." The soldier stumbled back.

"Get the hell out of here! I know what happened." Murong Teng stopped talking nonsense and ordered: "Get out!"

Everyone dispersed in a hurry and rushed to their respective camps.

There are already people fighting outside the camp.

More than a thousand Xia soldiers had already rushed out of the camp gate, roaring and charging towards them. Behind them, in the south and north, there seemed to be two to three thousand people each taking a detour, trying to outflank them.

Murong Teng cursed, got on his horse, and ordered his troops to fight and retreat.

Li Junqing was so stupid that he transferred the guards Jin Qian back and forth, one to defend the water, and the other to recapture Cheng'an. The orders were incomprehensible, and the soldiers of the three armies accompanied him running around and bumping into each other.

If the whole army defends the river, it will not be possible for him to successfully cross the river in one day, and he will have to sue him after he returns.

Thousands of people in the army were like tigers descending from the mountain. Their morale was high and they charged and fought fiercely.

The hundreds of Jin soldiers who were resisting at the front had completely collapsed. Murong Teng ordered the cavalry to counterattack and kill them, but they were again entangled by the enemy cavalry.

In the end, Murong Teng gave up completely and retreated toward Beicang in panic with the remaining defeated soldiers.

The soldiers and horses on the left wing of the Jinglue Army made Lu Ming excited to fight and pursued them bravely.

The two sides chased and escaped along the Zhuozhang River, heading straight towards Mingzhou.

At this time, in the direction of Fuyang in the west, as more and more soldiers and horses crossed the river, the transportation routes from Yang to Zhaoyi, Fukou, Cheng'an, and Handan were all cut off, and they were already in a de facto state of siege.

In just one day, the Jin army's Fushui defense line collapsed.

Wuwei, the sudden general, has commanded more than 80,000 soldiers and horses of the three armies, and is full of stamina. Taking advantage of the enemy's wavering posture across the board, he is ready to go deep into the enemy's rear and tear up, trying to leave more of the enemy's effective strength.

To be continued.
