Unknowingly, this book has been serialized for three years and has finally been completed.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all readers.
This is my second book.
The first book "Travel 1630: The Rise of South America" was already 404 due to political allusions. It was blocked at about the same time as Lingao. The editor asked me to change a large number of positions, place names and other plots in it. At that time, it had been serialized for hundreds of books.
It's like 10,000 words. The amount of work is too large and difficult to change, so it was blocked.
I remember that Lingao was closed for a long time. The author probably made a lot of revisions and finally released it.
There are not many group travel books, most of them are gone.
The first book was purely a matter of interest. The first monthly manuscript fee was 200 yuan. In the end, the average order for 404 was more than 2,000 yuan, and the high-quality products were not available. Counting me, I spent 10,000 yuan.
The second book is "", with 5.9 million words. When it was completed, the average number of orders was a little more than 10,000. This is a huge improvement. Once again, readers support me.
This book is written according to a timeline, and I can’t figure out the genre. Let’s call it Shao Thief’s personal memoirs.
I said before that I will write until his death. Now that Shao Thief is dead, the book has ended.
Next, I will write some postscript to fill in the gaps, and then I will apply to the editor to complete the book.
I haven't decided yet what to write in my next book.
Actually, I originally wanted to write about the late Qing Dynasty, but I heard before that I couldn’t write after 1911, and then I heard that the time was moved forward, and I couldn’t write after 1901. Actually, I didn’t understand what was special about 1901.
When I first conceived it, I wrote a beginning.
Probably around the time of the Russo-Japanese War, it started with the Yokohama Shokin Bank fraud case directed by the protagonist, which took place in Tohoku.
During this period, the competition between Japan and Russia was interspersed, and in order to counter Russian influence, Japan introduced international capital such as American railway king Harriman, Russia sought sponsorship from the Paris banking group, and Germany encouraged Russia to move eastward to avoid their torment in Eastern Europe. A series of sword-fighting events
as background.
My assumption is that in that great era, every country had its own heroes, and countless people with lofty ideals worked hard for their country and nation. Our heroes were our enemies, and our enemies also had people with outstanding talents who devoted themselves to their country and died.
And then.
From the battlefield of fierce competition in Northeast China, it expanded to the whole country, and then combined with the global background.
To put it simply, imperialist policies in our country are not isolated, but are influenced by other parts of the world. Many people do not mention this. For example, Russia’s Far East policy must be combined with the situation in Europe and is not static.
My plan is to write it in a larger format, just like my first book.
But now after consultation, I don’t feel too optimistic, and the creative environment has become increasingly strict. Qidian also has its own difficulties. If you are a big person, you will attract attention, and you will be stared at and reported, some even by your peers. It is understandable that one size fits all.
Writing was not allowed in the late Qing Dynasty, so what should I write about...
Early and mid-Qing Dynasty? Or other dynasties?
There used to be a saying that the Three Kingdoms, the prosperous Tang Dynasty, and the late Ming Dynasty were three historical periods with their own traffic. If you write about other time periods and get the same results, you have to put in more effort and have a higher writing level.
But I am too lazy to write about these three periods. There are too many works to join in the fun.
Readers can leave comments in the chapter, and I will see what period everyone likes, so I can buy the book and study it.
The purpose of the research is to better restore the historical features and strive to write a sense of the times. There is a difference between "ancient times" and "ancient times".
Or, should I continue to challenge the unpopular period? Haha.
I feel so happy when I write about an unpopular period when there is little traffic, and the performance exceeds that of a popular period - the support of my third reader.
Well, it’s best not to recommend the end of the Yuan Dynasty during the unpopular period. If I did write it, I would probably be called a dog.
If I want to write, I will definitely write seriously. Everyone has a dark side and black spots. If these were written, the book review area would be very lively.
For example, if the protagonist confronts Zhu Yuanzhang, he will definitely use all possible means, and he will definitely focus on the disgraceful parts of Zhu Yuanzhang and hammer him hard.
Or find a way to push Zhu Yuanzhang to the front line of the anti-Yuan Dynasty, and the protagonist goes to seize Jiangnan. If you deduce it carefully, what do you think Zhu Yuanzhang will do?
For another example, the protagonist has traveled through time, the butterfly effect has occurred, Chahan is not dead, what should we do...
To be fair, if Chahan had not died, most of the rebels, including Zhu Yuanzhang, would have ended badly.
When the time comes to actually write it, the book review section will have another climax.
Therefore, it is best not to write it.
Of course, if you really recommend it, damn it, it’s not like I can’t bear the pressure.
It's quite interesting when you think about it, the anti-fans are also fans. It was co-developed with Shen Wansan, and there are actually quite a lot of scenes.
Okay, let’s get down to business, the fourth time for readers’ support.
It’s hard to say when the new book will be written. If you can’t wait, you can read the old book 1630 first.
That was the first book I wrote. The writing style was very childish. There was no protagonist, the country was the protagonist. It lasted more than a hundred years.
How should I put it, there should still be some shining points.
Navigation, colonization, trade, war, and diplomacy have taken a long time to describe in detail the nature of how the world works and the nature of colonization. Even now, many things in it are still valid.
You can read this book, it’s not an advertisement, and I won’t get any profit from it.
Moreover, this is a completely different type from ""——
“…We also have a problem caused by a capital economy, where the profits from industrial and other business activities gradually accumulate, forming huge reserves. And limited by the shortage of adult labor and materials, these capitals need to be invested profitably in the country.
We have encountered difficulties, so we must not only find consumer markets abroad, but also find markets that can play the role of capital. To some extent, this urgent need will strengthen our country’s political, economic and even political support for underdeveloped areas.
Militarily aggressive, but what does it matter? Opening up new lands and conquering new colonies has been our country's usual policy for a long time. Of course, we give priority to the development of undeveloped domestic wastelands, but for those with great economic value or strategic
In areas with high value, capital investment still needs to be made to a greater or lesser extent.”
“For overseas territories that we directly control (such as South Africa and other places), we can carry out mutually beneficial development; but for external areas that can directly intervene (such as the Free State, North Korea, etc.), we can use an appropriate method to
The 'exploitation' method of economic colonization should include the following contents: A. Guaranteeing a market for the sales of industrial products of the metropolitan country; B. Low-cost supply of raw materials to the industrial system of the metropolitan country and various natural consumer goods to local citizens; C. Providing cheap labor
, to provide convenience for the sovereign country to use capital to cultivate large plantations, open mines, and establish port companies and shipping companies; d. to provide other investment opportunities, such as setting up banks, local small industries, public utilities, and coastal shipping that will not compete with the sovereign country.
, highways, canals, etc.”
"...it is foreseeable that although the colonial residents will sometimes benefit from material progress, they will inevitably be reduced to an economically inferior status. Not only are they lower than the residents of the mother country, but they are also inferior to those who came from the mother country.
The people living in these places are inferior. This may certainly arouse their dissatisfaction, but under the combined effect of the comprador class we cultivated economically, the puppet regime we supported politically, and the auxiliary troops stationed militarily, these
There is no doubt that the place will still be firmly in our hands, providing a steady stream of nutrients for the body..."
Western countries began to do the above in the 19th century and reached their peak in the second half of the 20th century.
They have experienced a long period of industrial revolution and wealth accumulation, and have extremely abundant capital, but their domestic development has been saturated and they cannot find new economic growth points.
As a result, they have created two major needs: first, the foreign consumer goods market to digest domestic industrial production capacity; second, the foreign investment market with high return rates to digest the country's excess capital.
The second point means deindustrialization and industrial transfer. But there is also a requirement that "colonial" investment cannot compete with the "sovereign country". In the past, it was steel, military industry, chemical industry, machinery, etc., but now it is large aircraft, chips, biomedicine, etc.
Things two hundred years ago were much the same as they are now.
After writing the previous book, and then writing about the late Tang Dynasty, I really had no way to deal with internal affairs, haha. I was used to the expansion of colonial trade, industrial investment, and capital operations. In ancient times, I found that there was nothing I wanted, so I could only
Make some reforms to the best of our ability in horse administration, breeding, trade and superficial finance.
That’s it for now, I look forward to seeing you next time.
