Chapter 8 Beverly Five

After leaving her aunt's house in the St. Ann metropolitan area, Lin Sirer drove to the San Francisco branch of China National Bank, where she rented a personal safe. She planned to put back the string of rings passed down to her by her mother from the safe.

Gemstone necklace.

In the United States, all private economic business between Lin Sirer and China is basically handled through the overseas branches of China Bank.

She received the key from the bank clerk and found the location of her safe.

Only items that are completely personal to Lin Sirer are stored here.

Lu Zhichao didn't know that she had opened a safe deposit box rental business at Hua Guo Bank.

After the two got married, Lu Zhichao gave Lin Sirer a large amount of money for her family every year. However, she did not withhold any personal money from it, and all the remaining money was deposited into a special account in the name of Yashi.

The safe is only half the size of a drawer.

The property inside, except for a few pieces of jewelry bought by Lin Sirer herself, is all the savings she earned from working in the United States in the early years and later as a magazine columnist - a few bank deposit certificates.

Then there are several thick paper bags, which contain photos of her and Hua Nianping talking about their youth, as well as letters that they exchanged privately.

She first took off the gem necklace around her neck and stuffed it into the safe. But as soon as she put it in, she took it out by mistake and put it back on her neck.

This is a lavender gemstone necklace that was given to Lin Sirer by her mother on her eighteenth birthday. It has been passed down through generations.

Now, Lin Sirer mainly wanted to put a few bunches of withered petals of the mandarin duck and butterfly orchid that she brought back from the capital of China into the safe.

A few years ago, the Mandarin Duck and Double Butterfly orchid was fostered in the home of a middle school friend of Lin Sirer's. This middle school friend's name is Jiang Shuang, who is now a professor at the Beijing Horticulture Research Institute. She has lived up to Lin Sirer's trust and has put the Mandarin Duck and Double Butterfly into the home of one of Lin Sirer's middle school friends.

The orchids are carefully cultivated and tillered into many pots.

When Lin Sirer was about to leave the capital after the Mid-Autumn Festival, she went to Jiang Shuang's house to say goodbye. She broke off a few bunches of flower petals that had bloomed in the spring and brought them back to Sanlan City.

I don’t know what year it will be when I think of returning to China. The petals of the mandarin ducks and the two butterflies are Lin Sirer’s cherished commemoration of Hua Nianping’s first love in a foreign country.

Seeing things and thinking about emotions, her sad tears fell on the withered petals in her hands.

From Lin Sir's point of view, even if this necklace of beautiful gemstones was handed down from her mother, even if it was worth a lot of money, it would be difficult to compare with the position of the mandarin ducks and the two butterflies in her heart.

After leaving the National Bank of China, when Lin Sirer drove into the street in front of the Plaza Park, a truck with Madonna's face all over its body quickly passed in front of her from the fork in the other road.

Lin Sirer immediately noticed that the car in front of her was the Ford small truck that Gusfen had driven to Beverly No. 5 early in the morning.

She suddenly remembered that Lu Zhichao's company was on a street in the city park here.

Could it be that Gusfen and the others...

Lin Sirer stepped on the accelerator and followed.

In order to prevent being spotted by people in front of her, she always kept a distance from Del's truck.

Sure enough, the Ford small truck stopped in front of a joint office building marked Tower A.

Lin Sirer knew that Lu Zhichao's company was upstairs in this building, occupying Nos. 27 and 28.

Gusfin and Colini got out of the car one after another, and Del also got out of the cab.

They began to unload the truck and carry items one by one into the building. It took about twenty minutes before all the items in the truck were cleared.

Collini did not appear again, Del and Gusfen got back in the car and continued to drive forward.

Lin Sirer decided to follow them again and followed them quietly.

Unraveling the mystery of Gusfen's identity and finding out the secrets of Beverly Five were not only too tempting for her, but she even felt an inexplicable excitement.

Half an hour later, Del drove the car into a courtyard on Olafur Street. Although there were two gates for exits, there was only a six-story gray building in the courtyard.

Gusfen got out of the car.

Lin Sirer saw several men coming out of the building. They all took the initiative to run to Gesfin and greeted her, looking very respectful and attentive.

She deduced from this that Gusfin should be very familiar with the people in this gray building, and her position was not low, so she began to feel confident.

When Del drove away from the other gate, Lin Sirer waited for a few more minutes before getting out of the car and walking into the lobby of the gray building.

She noticed that although the building looked old, it seemed extremely solid.

A doorman stopped Lin Sirer at the elevator entrance: "Who are you looking for? Do you have an appointment?"

"I'm looking for Mr. Thomson, and he asked me to come over at half past ten." Lin Sirer looked at her watch anxiously and said casually. "It's almost eleven o'clock now, and I'm half an hour late.

La."

"Sorry, we don't have anyone named Thomson here, only Tom or Mr. Thomas, which one are you looking for!" The doorman was obviously a loyal and honest man, and he was a little confused.

"I am confused by you. How many people named Tom are there? Could it be that I have found the wrong person?" Lin Sirer looked a little impatient. "Then please tell me, Mrs. Gusfin.

Does she also work here? I know she is Mr. Thomson’s wife, and they work in the same department!”

"It's Miss Gusfin, not Mrs. Gusfin. She's not married yet. I think you really got the wrong person!" the guard said in a long voice, as if he began to understand. "Miss Gusfin is ours."

The senior manager here. She just went upstairs. If you confirm that you are here to see her, I can inform Miss Gusfin to come downstairs to see you now."

"Wait a minute, sir, I want to find out what kind of unit this is?" Lin Sirer stopped the guard and took the opportunity to ask, "Could it be that I'm looking in the wrong place?"

"Ma'am, who are you looking for?" The doorman looked almost desperate, confused again.

He may have been shocked by the brilliant lavender gemstone necklace around Lin Sirer's neck, and expected that the Chinese lady in front of him must have a distinguished status.

Later, the guard simply pointed to a sign on the wall with the pattern of "Four-Legged Eagle Claws", and in a very straightforward tone, he answered Lin Sirer word for word: "My dear madam, I will tell you the truth. Please remember it clearly.

Well, this is the Sanlan branch of Hard Company, and the whole building is filled with employees working for Hard Company!"

Lin Sirer had already seen this astonishing "four-legged eagle claw" pattern in Gusfen's room this morning.

"It seems that I really looked in the wrong place!" Lin Sirer concealed her inner pride and looked at the doorman as if she suddenly realized. "The Mr. Thomson I'm looking for, he and his wife are in the insurance company.

I'm really sorry for you!"

She was smiling all over her face and kept apologizing to the doorman.

"There is indeed an inconspicuous insurance company near here." The guard finally breathed a sigh of relief and began to talk more.

"Besides, let me tell you the truth, Madam, because Harder Company has important special characteristics, it is inconvenient to make any signs to the outside world. However, it is not surprising that you are looking in the wrong place. There were a few guys last time

, actually treated this place as a mental hospital and sent a murderer in."

"That's really dangerous!" Lin Sirer was satisfied and said goodbye to the guard with great emotion: "Goodbye sir, I wish you good luck!"

She didn't expect that it would be so fast and so smooth, and she would find out Gusfen's true identity without any effort.

It turns out that she actually comes from the mysterious Hard Company organization, and her background is intriguing.

But what should we do next?

On the way back to Chinatown, Lin Sirer vaguely realized that she was being involved in a weird spy game.
