Chapter 1038: Edict

After the fall of Stormwind City, Thrall sat on the throne majestically, and Varian was kicked out of Stormwind Keep and lived in a stable in the back mountain.

Also unlucky was Prince Anduin, who had to sleep with the pony. Although the weather was already a bit cold, there were still a lot of mosquitoes.

Within a few days, the father and son were covered in bites and were almost unrecognizable. They ate only rotten vegetable leaves every day, and their lives were miserable.

Even though this was not over yet, Varian and his son still had to take care of the horses and clean the stables. There was endless work to do every day. If they slacked off even a little bit, they would be severely beaten by the orc overseers.

After the introduction of the flesh tax, Varian thought it would arouse the people's resistance, but he did not expect that Stormwind City was peaceful, and many people spontaneously walked into the slaughterhouse to pay the flesh tax.

There are several main reasons for this situation.

Stormwind City's population dropped from 200,000 at its peak to less than 20,000. Those who could escape have already fled, and the rest are numb people.

These people are used to being submissive, and no matter how absurd King Varian's decree is, it will not cause waves in their hearts.

Of course, a considerable part of the 20,000 people are nobles, such as the Grand Duke Alpha. Even Thrall has to be respectful, and they do not need to pay the flesh and blood tax.

There are also many foolish loyalists. After all, Thrall is the great savior, Fordring is the spokesperson of the Holy Light, and Varian is the greatest king in human history. He has many supporters and is willing to sacrifice his life for them.

.

Three days after the flesh and blood tax was implemented, three thousand people were massacred in an orderly manner by the Silver Crusade. Seeing that the people had no reaction at all, Varian was as anxious as ants on a hot pot.

After a brief contact with Thrall, Varian understood that the orcs were insatiable. If this continued, sooner or later, he would become the food of the orcs and end up on Thrall's table.

When Varian fell into despair, a groom gave Varian advice.

Early that morning, while the orc overseer was still sleeping soundly, Varian and his son got up to sort the fodder. A groom approached the king and whispered:

"Your Majesty the King, please don't worry. There are less than two thousand orcs entering Stormwind City, there are only one thousand Silver Northern Expeditions, and there are still a large number of soldiers in the entire Stormwind Kingdom."

Varian was already desperate and shook his head: "It's a pity that they can't be used by me. How can I solve the crisis in Stormwind City?"

The groom looked around and saw no one around, and whispered:

"Your Majesty the King, Major Garrick of Elwynn Forest has assembled an army of about five thousand people. As long as you issue an edict, they will immediately mobilize to serve the king."

Countless experiences in history have proven that raising troops to serve the king must have the king's order, otherwise it will be a rebellion. Even if Stormwind City is recaptured, he will be hanged at the city gate.

Varian was overjoyed, but then he thought again, shook his head and said, "They are all ordinary farmers. They have no equipment and no training. Five thousand people are enough."

The groom lowered his voice and advised: "Your Majesty the King, the orcs' perverse behavior has already aroused the dissatisfaction of countless people with lofty ideals. As long as Major Garrick receives your edict and raises his arms, Western Wilderness, Lakeside Town, Night Town,

The Coiled Snake Territory, Black Lake District, etc. will all respond accordingly. By then there will definitely be more than 5,000 people, maybe even 50,000."

Varian didn't believe it and looked at the guard in confusion.

The groom explained in a low voice: "As the saying goes, wealth touches people's hearts, and power kills people. These people who are diligent in the king have spotted the power vacuum in Stormwind City. What they want is the title of nobility and prominent power. As long as you agree to give it to them, there will definitely be more.

More and more ambitious people are getting involved."

Varian thought for a long time: "Okay, I will draft the edict immediately."

The groom was well prepared, took out a pen and paper from his pocket, and took the initiative to go to the supervisor's door to show off.

Varian quickly drafted an edict, naming Major Garrick as the Grand Marshal of Beast Slayers and First Duke of Stormwind City, and ordered him to expel the orcs and the evil Silver Crusade.

The groom carefully put away the edict, hid it in a hidden position on his body, and found an excuse to leave. Varian had already seen that the groom was very skilled and good at disguise. He should be a well-trained agent of MI7. This matter

It should be a sure thing.

At noon, Wari installed a cart full of horse dung, and saw a large group of orcs approaching. The horseman was tied into a rice dumpling, with blood bleeding from the corner of his mouth.

Varian's legs were shaking with fear and his face was pale. After all, he was just a run-down nobleman in the parallel world and had seen such a formation there.

Thrall strode over and threw the edict in Varian's face:

"Varian, I have been extremely kind to you and allowed you to continue to be the king of Stormwind City. You actually want to betray me. Do you know the consequences of betrayal?"

Varian was trembling and speechless, his mind went blank, he was just thinking about how the groom was exposed?

Thrall sneered, took out half a fragrant roast chicken, handed it to Prince Anduin, and said with a smile: "My child, you did a good job, this is your reward."

"Anduin?"

Varian couldn't believe his ears.

In the morning, the groom and Varian discussed the edict in private, and did not avoid Anduin. Who would have thought that it was him who informed the secret.

Anduin ate the roasted chicken with a proud look on his face and said, "Uncle Thrall, I don't want to live in the stable anymore. Med'an said that I will be the king of Stormwind City from now on."

"You call him uncle!" Varian felt dizzy!

Varian comes from a parallel world and has no blood relationship with Anduin, but he has always loved Anduin as if he were his own father and son.

It's a pity that Anduin didn't reciprocate, or Anduin had already seen through everything.

Thrall smiled and patted Anduin on the shoulder: "Kid, uncle will definitely promise you and reward you with something fun. Let's see what it is."

Thrall opened his palm, and Anduin leaned over to take a look. There was nothing there, and he was confused.

I saw Thrall raised his palm and slapped Anduin fiercely in the face. Anduin's body immediately flew out. Thrall jumped up and put his foot on Anduin's stomach in the air. Even so, he still remained

Out of anger, he bit Anduin's leg and tore off a large piece of flesh.

The cruel Thrall did not allow Anduin to pass out. He pressed his wound into horse manure, rubbed it hard, and roared loudly:

"You despicable human cub, you ruined my big event."

Anduin was beaten until he was dying, blood was flowing all over the ground, and he was twitching in the horse manure!

Sal picked up the edict, delivered it to the groom himself, and untied him.

"Don't you want to send the edict out of Stormwind City? I will do as you wish."

The groom was stunned, not knowing whether he should accept the edict or not.

Varian was also confused and didn't know what Thrall meant.

"What, you don't dare to answer? Don't worry, I won't send anyone to follow you." Sal said with a cruel smile.

The groom bit his lip. The worst he could do was to die, so there was nothing he dared not do. He took the edict, turned around and left, and the figure quickly disappeared.

Thrall came to Varian and patted Varian on the shoulder with a smile:

"King Varian, we enjoy working together."
