Chapter 6 Stone Box

At night, the tent was originally quiet. A sudden sound broke the tranquility. Chu Feng's hands froze there and stopped all movements.

How can a cube of stone make such a sound?

A gap appeared in the stone.

Chu Feng put it down, fearing that something might happen. He observed carefully that he had experienced some strange things today, so he was extra cautious.

"Stone box?!" He was surprised.

The veins surrounding the stone once covered this gap, but now it is clearly revealed after it is slightly opened.

In the past, the stone boxes were too tightly fitted and integrated, and they were covered with scars, making it difficult to detect any abnormalities.

Who would have noticed that this is actually a cube stone box? It is three inches high and very simple.

At this point, Chu Feng was looking forward to it, because the stone box was a bit mysterious. He found it at the foot of Kunlun Mountain. He originally thought it was just a stone, but who would have thought that there was something else going on.

Chu Feng blocked the copper basin in the tent in front of him for defense, and then carefully opened the stone box to make the gap wider.

"Crack!"

The lid came off without any abnormality and no danger occurred.

Chu Feng was relieved and looked inside the stone box.

He had some hope, what was sealed inside?

The inner space of the stone box is very small, with only a very shallow groove, which can hardly hold anything. It is obviously impossible to hide pearls, jade, etc.

However, there is indeed something in it.

In that groove, there are three shriveled seeds, completely filling it up, and nothing else.

Chu Feng was quite disappointed. He thought that the stone box he picked up in Kunlun Mountain contained some secret treasure, but unexpectedly, it turned out that there were only three seeds.

One seed was black and shriveled, as if it was deformed and seriously lacking vitality.

The other seed is purple-brown, oblate, as if it has been squashed, and can be as big as a fingernail.

The last seed is slightly normal. Except for the wrinkles on the skin, it is quite plump. At least it is not deflated. It is round as a whole, but a little yellowish.

Chu Feng was stunned, just three seeds? Two of them were still dry and in disarray. This was really... very different from what he imagined.

I originally thought that the stone box picked up from the foot of Kunlun Mountain was somewhat mysterious, maybe it contained something extraordinary, but it turned out to be so ordinary.

He placed the three seeds in the palm of his hand and looked at them carefully. There was really nothing surprising about them.

How many years has this thing been buried underground? It's hard to tell, but the stone box is definitely old enough, and the lines and marks are all blurred.

Is this something ancient?

However, if it is an ancient relic, it would be pretty good if the three seeds did not rot after being unearthed.

Some ancient things that are sealed underground may be destroyed immediately once they are exposed to the light of day.

Chu Feng looked at them again and again, but he really couldn't identify what kind of seeds they were. He had never seen them before and didn't know which three plants they should correspond to.

He was speechless. Just now he had a burning desire to peek at the secret treasure, but now he was staring at the three dry seeds in a daze!

"Find an opportunity to plant and see what grows." Chu Feng pondered.

However, the three seeds had experienced a long time. He was a little worried whether they could still germinate. Two of them were shriveled.

"It can really be grown, as long as it's not a poisonous weed. If beans or other vegetables grow by then, they will probably be considered ancient varieties." He smiled.

The starry sky on the plateau seems to be very close to the ground. The stars are bright and the moonlight is like water, falling on this desolate and somewhat desolate land.

Late at night, it's extremely quiet.

In the haziness, Chu Feng heard a huge roar of beasts coming from the direction of Kunlun Mountain, echoing among the mountains, which woke him up from his dream.

The place where we stayed was very far away, and it was really surprising to hear the dull roar of beasts in the middle of the night.

Obviously, something is happening in the Kunlun Mountains. The sound does not sound like the roar of the mastiff and yak, and other beasts appear.

Vaguely, the ground in that mountain range was trembling slightly, and it became more and more unquiet.

Some herdsmen were awakened, prayed devoutly, worshiped at the top of the holy mountain, and murmured something.

Chu Feng also stood up and walked out of the tent. He heard the words of an old herdsman.

"The living Buddha in the mountain has really awakened."

Chu Feng was puzzled. Even if there were ancient monks, how could it be accompanied by the roar of beasts?

"You don't understand. This is a legend in our Tibetan area. You should leave as soon as possible tomorrow morning." said the old herdsman.

"Are those sacred beasts in the mountains about to come out?" Another middle-aged man said.

Legend has it that there are several sleeping ancient beasts in the Holy Mountain deep in the plateau. Some are comparable to gods, are extremely powerful and can subjugate demons, and some are extremely ferocious and can cause disasters.

When Chu Feng heard this, he thought for a while. Although he didn't completely believe it, he didn't feel that what the Tibetans said was unfounded.

After all, he personally experienced the Bronze Mountain incident and did see some strange beasts.

For example, that golden ferocious bird is five or six meters long. If it were in ancient times, it would probably be called the golden-winged roc.

The shiny black yak was more than a foot long. Even leopards and green wolves were afraid of it. It was so powerful that the bronze mountain top trembled when it stepped on it. If it had been in ancient times, it would probably have been called a bull demon.

Some ancient legends are often exaggerated and have been turned into myths over time. Especially when the ancients recorded anecdotes, they always exaggerated, and this must be the case here as well.

In the middle of the night, the empty plateau finally became quiet, and the dull roars of beasts in the distant mountains disappeared.

The moonlight is like water, falling like thin smoke, and the place seems to be connected with the starry sky, hazy and peaceful.

The herdsmen no longer worried and breathed a sigh of relief.

Chu Feng also returned to the tent and fell into a deep sleep.

The next day, Chu Feng set out on the road early in the morning, and then entered a huge city in the west, where he would board the train home.

In the post-civilization era, after reconstruction, although it is not as brilliant as it was in the past, the gap is not very huge, and various means of transportation are relatively convenient.

During these days, Chu Feng had been in the wild and had no contact with the outside world. Now that he entered the giant city, he felt as if he was in another world.

All the time in the plateau, desert, and mountains, the communication tools on him were turned off. When they were turned on again, many messages came to him at the same time.

His parents told him to be careful and pay attention to safety when he was out alone. Some classmates and friends also asked him when he would go back and other news.

Chu Feng replied one by one until he boarded the train.

Apart from buying a bunch of snacks, he took very few things with him and disposed of them all on the way back.

After finding his place and putting down his things, he held the communicator and started to read the news of the past few days, and he was suddenly amazed.

Over the past few days, there have been heavy fogs all over the country, even abroad. Some are light blue, some are dark red, and some are purple, and they have fallen across a wide area.

Some people say that this may be a mutation caused by nuclear radiation left over from the war.

However, experts immediately refuted the rumors and told the public that everything is safe. This is just a haze in nature. Once it disappears, it will be fine. There is no need to panic.

According to the public opinion polls, there is also another voice saying that this is an accident, just like the previous times in history, it has spread to various places.

Regarding these, no one dares to strongly deny it, because in the post-civilization era, this is not the first time, and the water inside is very deep.

"What is this? There are plants floating in the air. It's really weird."

After the train started, a fat man came forward and sat down. He should be about the same age as Chu Feng. He was of medium height, with a big belly, a fleshy face, and big ears. When he smiled, his eyes narrowed into two slits.

Like Maitreya Buddha.

He has a special sense of joy. When he is not talking, he is kind-hearted and smiles. The more he looks at him, the more he looks like Maitreya Buddha.

Chu Feng suddenly laughed, this man was definitely not annoying.

"Brother, where are you going?" Fatty'er said hello as he came to know him well.

"At the foot of Taihang Mountain." Chu Feng responded with a smile.

"We are not fellow villagers, are we? Tell us the specific location." The fat man laughed.

After asking, it turned out that the two of them had the same destination, and they immediately felt that they were very close, as they were both from the same place.

The fat man's name is Zhou Quan, which is a very "safe" name. He once studied in the west, and this time he is revisiting his old place and coming back to take a look.

Chu Feng also noticed the news mentioned by Zhou Quan. Recently, there were reports that some strange suspended plants were found in the sky, which was a bit strange.

"I don't understand why they don't fall down!" Fatty Zhou muttered.

Chu Feng was also puzzled after reading the news.

"Isn't something big going to happen?" Zhou Quan gnashed his teeth.

"I hope you are safe and sound. This world is becoming increasingly incomprehensible." Someone next to me said.

"Yeah, it's the best thing to do. It's really a bit uneasy."

This seemed to resonate, with some people echoing it.

"It is estimated that something will happen sooner or later. There have been many unexplained mysterious phenomena in recent years, and all kinds of rumors have come out." Someone whispered.

The place suddenly became lively, and there was everything.

Two hours later, Zhou Quan and Chu Feng became very familiar with each other. After all, they were both from the same place and were naturally close to each other.

He came over and said to Chu Feng mysteriously: "I heard from a relative a few days ago that he knew a strange person and said that the world is going to change drastically."

"What changes will happen?" Chu Feng asked.

"Some weird things will happen." Fatty Zhou said in a low voice.

"I think you look more like a god." Chu Feng said with a smile.

"Really, don't believe it. My relative is not a talkative person. He is usually very strict and reliable, and his level of contact is very unusual." The fat man glared.

Chu Feng smiled and shook his head.

The fat man was a little discouraged and said: "Actually, I don't really believe it. That strange man actually talked nonsense and revealed a few words, suggesting that some mythical characters in the West were grown, and that our place is similar."

"puff!"

A person next to me was drinking water, and when I happened to hear it, I squirted out a mouthful of water and couldn't stop laughing.

"Go, go, go, what's so funny, let's not talk about it!" The fat man also felt embarrassed.
