57. The time of separation

Just as the two groups were in a stalemate, the female soldier who was driving a large military truck suddenly got out of the vehicle.

She raised her hands and said to the group of people inside the broadcast signal station:

"Shi Yong, they are really survivors who came to seek refuge, I can testify!"

The sudden appearance of the female soldier stunned the group of people inside the signal station. Soon, the black muzzles of the guns were retracted. The loud and deep male voice said again:

"Everyone, I'm sorry, we misunderstood you!"

Hearing this, Gu Zhuo had no intention of letting down his guard. He sneered and said to the man:

"Misunderstood us? We are still in the dark and don't know anything. Should you give us an explanation?"

"Of course, I will give you an explanation!"

After the man finished speaking, he saw an escape rope dropped from the window on the second floor.

After the escape rope dropped to the ground, a man with muscles all over his body, who was as big as a bear, slid along the escape rope to the ground.

Facing Gu Zhuo's precautions, he raised his hands to show that he did not carry any weapons.

When Wenbo saw him, he immediately ran forward and stood beside him.

Shi Yong and Wenbo looked at each other, and then he said:

"Survivors, let me explain to you what happened!"

"Explain it!"

Gu Zhuo shouted.

Shi Yong told Gu Zhuo everything that had happened before.

Zhao Shifang's group of people were originally the same group of survivors as Shi Yong. They were originally hiding in a heavily guarded military area with sufficient weapons.

But soon, Shi Yong discovered that Zhao Shifang was selfish. If survivors came to seek refuge with them, Shi Yong would gladly accept them, but Zhao Shifang would try every means to squeeze out the last bit of value from them.

As time passed, the two people's ideas started to diverge. Zhao Shifang and Shi Yong didn't like each other, so they only needed an excuse to part ways.

The trigger was the blood moon that day.

On the day of the blood moon, half of the survivors in the military area mutated into monsters. During the fierce battle with the monsters, most of the remaining survivors who had not mutated were sacrificed.

As they struggled to hold on and waited until daylight arrived, the military area was devastated and could no longer serve as their safe base.

Both Zhao Shifang and Shi Yong realized that they had to change their base. Their goal this time was surprisingly the same: broadcast signal tower.

But when preparing to leave for the broadcast signal tower, Zhao Shifang proposed to kill all the remaining old, weak, sick and disabled survivors. Otherwise, if the monster attacks again at night, these guys will only be a burden.

This proposal was firmly opposed by Shi Yong, and the atmosphere between the two was tense, and a fight could break out at any time.

Fortunately, Shi Yong has more followers, and they are all soldiers with normal outlook in the military region. Although Zhao Shifang follows many bureaucratic leaders, most of his followers are just military ruffians.

If the two sides exchange fire, although both sides are likely to suffer losses, the casualties on Zhao Shifang's side will obviously be more severe.

Under the suppression of the opponent's firepower, Zhao Shifang finally compromised.

However, the two were incompatible. Shi Yong insisted on going to the broadcast signal tower, so naturally Zhao Shifang couldn't go with him.

Finally, Zhao Shifang left with his followers and Shi Yong in the opposite direction.

Wenbo turned out to be an insider placed on Zhao Shifang's side. Once there was any situation on Zhao Shifang's side that would endanger them, she would tell Shi Yong the information as soon as possible. But the strange thing is that Wenbo had lost everything in the past few days.

any signal.

Wenbo himself did not expect that Zhao Shifang would be such a scumbag, and would even attack his followers.

It wasn't until last night that Gu Zhuo and the others took over the bridge that was originally controlled by Zhao Shifang. It was precisely because Gu Zhuo took over the bridge and no one took care of women like Wenbo that she had the opportunity to give Shi Yong the first time since losing contact.

Signal.

The content of the signal was very simple. Zhao Shifang had established a base on the bridge specifically to intercept and rob passing survivors.

Shi Yong also just received the signal this morning, so he would have doubts about the identity of Gu Zhuo and others.

After hearing the whole story and seeing that Wenbo and Shi Yong's words had indeed confirmed each other, he lowered his guard a little and put the Gatlings on the four corners of the car down, no longer aiming at them.

"Survivor, what should I call you?"

Seeing that Gu Zhuo no longer pointed his gun at them, Shi Yong asked.

"Gu Zhuo. But I'm not here to join you. I'm just bringing someone here."

After Gu Zhuo finished speaking, Akashi drove a Jeep Wrangler to Shi Yong.

"I am the one who came to join you."

Akashi said.

Originally seeing Gu Zhuo's magnificent Doomsday Fortress and the four Gatlings, he thought he was one of the survivors who had come to seek refuge. Shi Yong also thought that the signal tower would have one more capable officer, but he didn't expect Gu Zhuo to show up.

He didn't come here to seek refuge.

Although he was slightly disappointed, Shi Yong saw the modified Jeep Wrangler again and felt a little better.

He looked towards Akashi and saw that although Akashi was missing one hand, his whole figure and stance showed that he had served as a soldier and was also a trainer.

The two briefly introduced each other, and Wenbo told Shi Yong about a group of female survivors who were poisoned by Zhao Shifang on the military truck.

Shi Yong quickly arranged for them to drive and enter through another road from the signal tower.

The vehicle wreckage in front of the signal tower was deliberately set up by Shi Yong, so that it could simply and effectively block the door. The survivors usually passed through the side door of the signal tower.

The side door is directly connected to the underground garage. At the entrance of the garage, Shi Yong had someone weld a heavy metal door. Behind the metal door, several people were arranged to be on duty 24 hours a day to ensure that there were no accidents.

This door will only be opened when someone passes through, otherwise it will remain closed.

Seeing that he and Gu Zhuo were about to be separated, Akashi wanted to return the walkie-talkie to him, but Gu Zhuo asked him to put the walkie-talkie next to him.

"Keep it, just in case I come back to you again one day."

Gu Zhuo said jokingly, and Akashi just smiled and silently left the intercom beside him.

Shi Yong originally wanted Gu Zhuo and Chao Ying to go into the signal tower and have a look around. If they thought it was good, they could stay. After all, after several battles with monsters, they did have fewer manpower and could use an extra helper.

Just the best thing.

But Gu Zhuo refused. His goal was to send Akashi over. Now that he had accomplished this goal, he still had other things to do.

Originally, he wanted to return to City A quickly and get back his two oil tankers.

But since the Doomsday Fortress was upgraded, it has not been refueled. In the battle with the Screamer that night, he fired so many air cannons that the fuel tank unknowingly used up hundreds of liters of oil.

Although there were still more than 5,000 liters left, Gu Zhuo couldn't help but feel distressed. He also had some mild obsessive-compulsive disorder and wanted to find a gas station to fill up the fuel tank of the Fortress of Doom.

After asking Shi Yong, I learned that there is a gas station very close to the radio station. It is not abandoned and is maintained by Shi Yong and others, so you can still refuel.

Shi Yong gave them an approximate route, and compared the route he pointed with the route on the map. Gu Zhuo thanked them and prepared to set off.

Before setting off, the intercom suddenly rang, and it turned out to be Akashi.

Akashi said on the intercom:

"Gu Zhuo, thank you for taking care of me these days, and for the Jeep Wrangler you gave me. If anything happens in the future, you must come back to me. I will help you in whatever way I can!"

Speaking of this, Akashi smiled innocently again:

"Of course, I'm not cursing you. Anyway, thank you for taking care of me these days."

Listening to Akashi's voice, Gu Zhuo also replied:

"Hey, please stay at the signal tower. I really hope you can develop this place into the largest survivor base."

After the two of them finished speaking, the intercom went silent, and finally made a few "sizzling" sounds of electricity.

Gu Zhuo launched the Fortress of Doom and drove towards the gas station pointed out to him by Shi Yong.
