66. Meeting in a narrow road

We drove the Doomsday Fortress all the way to the lake. The originally clear lake had already frozen after such a long period of low temperature.

It's just freezing. For Gu Zhuo, it is a simple matter.

He manipulated the robotic arm and easily broke the ice. Then, after making sure there was no danger around him, he went to the storage room and took out the car wash nozzle, and went down to wash the car himself.

Connect the water pump of the nozzle to the lake, and the water pump sucks water out. The water that comes out is sprayed on the surface of the doomsday fortress.

In yesterday's fierce battle, apart from making the car a little dirty, there was no other damage to the Doomsday Fortress. Even the last blow that penetrated the super giant octopus only made the car a little black dirt among the yellow dirt.

Sewage.

What really made Gu Zhuo feel distressed was that a giant octopus had penetrated one of his tank trucks. Not only was the oil almost leaking, the tank truck was also completely scrapped and could no longer be used. Gu Zhuo was helpless.

Just throw it on the roadside.

The clear water of the lake sprayed on the Doomsday Fortress and quickly dissolved the clumps of yellow viscous liquid. The viscous liquid mixed with the clear water and slowly trickled down, but there were still some stubborn residues left on it.

The yellow liquid left behind by the octopus head does have a fishy smell, like dead fish and rotten shrimps that have been left in the seafood market for a long time, with a sour smell.

I'm afraid if we don't clean it up, the smell will remain on this fortress of doomsday.

Gu Zhuo took the nozzle, and Chao Ying came out with a car wash brush to help him clean the car. The two had a clear division of labor, and it took about an hour to finally clean and wipe the entire Doomsday Fortress.

After washing, the Doomsday Fortress became as clean as ever again, without leaving any smell.

He put away the nozzles and brushes and looked at the clear lake. Gu Zhuo had not seen such a scene for a long time. The last time he went out to see the lake seemed to be a few years ago.

"Chaoying, please stay here for a while."

Gu Zhuo suddenly turned his head and said to Chaoying.

Hearing this, Chaoying naturally had no idea. Anyway, they were not in a hurry to go to Qingshui, so there would be nothing wrong if they stayed here for a while.

Seeing that Chaoying agreed, Gu Zhuo took out two deck chairs from the Doomsday Fortress and placed them by the lake. He also took a fishing rod and bait and sat on the chair, apparently preparing to fish.

"If you think it's boring to watch me fishing here, you can go lie down on the second floor platform by yourself, or go back and read a book. You don't have to force yourself to accompany me here."

Gu Zhuo held the fishing rod and then said to Chaoying.

People who fish may not be bored, but people who watch people fishing from the sidelines will definitely feel bored.

"It's okay, I can just lie down here and you can fish."

Gu Zhuo didn't know that under Chaoying's seemingly indifferent expression, deep down in his heart he actually wanted to be here to accompany him.

"OK."

After he finished speaking, he put the bait into the hook without paying any attention to the shadow, threw the hook into the lake, and began to catch fish.

He also didn't know whether animals had changed after the apocalypse. But Sam had not changed much. It was estimated that other animals were the same as before the apocalypse. Only humans had mutations.

If one day even animals start to mutate, if his Sam mutates into a monster...

Forget it, Gu Zhuo didn't want to think about it for the time being. He put his thoughts back to the lake in front of him and began to gradually relax.

Chaoying on the side looked at him silently from the corner of her eye. Although she didn't understand the fun of fishing, she would never categorically deny a person's hobby just because she didn't understand the fun of something.

Now that Gu Zhuo was immersed in it, he felt relaxed and seemed to be happier than playing games with her.

Seeing that Gu Zhuo was rarely so relaxed, and with their backs against the Doomsday Fortress, they were basically safe. Chaoying also gradually felt at ease.

She raised her head and looked at the sky. Maybe it was because of the dissipation of the heavy fog that the sky looked particularly blue today. In addition, although the temperature today was as low as usual, the sunshine was very good and the sunshine was bright.

In humans, although there is little warmth, it is easy for people to feel trapped.

Lying on the couch, Chaoying was unknowingly swept away by a wave of sleepiness.

She glanced at Gu Zhuo's profile. Gu Zhuo was still looking at the lake, staring closely at the place where he put the bait.

The soft corner of her heart was touched, and then she stopped disturbing him and closed her eyes silently. Soon, she fell asleep.

The two of them were like hermits isolated from the world, doing their own things leisurely and quietly.

No one noticed that the thermal imaging display of the Doomsday Fortress showed that a red dot had entered within a kilometer of Gu Zhuo.

...

Time passed by unconsciously. I don’t know if it had something to do with the cold weather, but it was particularly difficult to catch fish in the lake. After about half an hour, Gu Zhuo felt his fishing rod move.

As soon as he noticed that his fishing rod was moving, he waited a few seconds and felt that the fish had bitten the hook firmly, so he fished fiercely.

As a result, I excitedly fished, but found that my movements were too slow and the movement was too loud. The fish broke away from the hook and slipped deep into the lake.

"Such stinky hands!"

Gu Zhuo was helpless and secretly laughed at himself.

"Forget it, no more fishing, it's time to go."

Gu Zhuo got over his fishing addiction and took back the fishing line, then he remembered that Chaoying was sitting next to him.

He turned his head to talk to Chaoying and found that Chaoying had fallen asleep.

She lay on the recliner and slept for no idea how long.

Looking at her sleeping posture, which looked like a delicate porcelain doll, Gu Zhuoyue looked at her a few more times, and the more he sighed, how could someone look like this.

Chaoying's appearance is that of a pure natural beauty. He has seen too many female celebrities have their faces operated on. It's okay to use the knife on the camera, but it will be particularly obvious in real life. Although beautiful, it is very unnatural.

.

For someone like Chaoying, if she becomes a star, she will surely outshine the rest.

Gu Zhuo shook his head and didn't know why he had such strange thoughts in his head.

Not to mention becoming a star, in today's world, it's already pretty good to be able to live a good life.

He looked at the time, it was two o'clock in the afternoon.

It was still early, so he didn't rush to wake up Chaoying, wanting her to sleep a little longer. He quietly packed up his things first.

He was still collecting his fishing rod, unaware that not far away, a man was looking here with a telescope.

Through the telescope, the man could only see a huge Doomsday Fortress. The two people behind the Doomsday Fortress were obscured, so they were not discovered by the man.

"It's strange. Why is there suddenly a big car here? It was not there the day before yesterday."

The man was confused and muttered.

Then, unable to bear the curiosity in his heart, he quietly approached there with the shotgun in his hand.

Gu Zhuo, who had already put away his fishing rod, was about to put away his recliner as well. Suddenly, he heard something keenly.

The movement was very subtle, but it couldn't escape his ears:

Something is approaching here!

He quickly woke up Chao Ying. As soon as Chao Ying opened his eyes and was about to say something, he saw Gu Zhuo put his index finger in front of his mouth and made a hissing gesture.

Chaoying quickly kept silent and communicated with him with eyes.

Gu Zhuo glanced at the back of the Doomsday Fortress and asked her to listen carefully to what was going on outside.

Sure enough, Chaoying soon heard the subtle sound of movement. It seemed like someone was approaching here quietly.

Gu Zhuo gestured to Chaoying and told her to sit on the recliner and not move around. He gently put down the fishing rod, took out the pistol from his waist, pressed it against the body of the Doomsday Fortress, and moved outside little by little.

passed.

After all, he is a soldier, and his skills and counter-detection awareness are much better than that of the guy outside.

The man was still quietly approaching the Doomsday Fortress in his own hidden way, and didn't realize that Gu Zhuo had touched the front of the car with a gun.

Just when he didn't pay attention to the scene behind the Fortress of Doom vehicle, he had already approached the car and was about to reach out to touch the armored shell of the Fortress of Doom. Gu Zhuo suddenly rushed out with a pistol and pointed it at the man's back:

"do not move!"

At this moment, the man noticed that Gu Zhuo was behind him. He quickly raised his shotgun and tried to turn around.

But Gu Zhuo's pistol was stuck tightly to his back vest. If he dared to act rashly, Gu Zhuo would probably shoot him.

"Put the gun down, turn around slowly, and tell me who you are."

Gu Zhuo said coldly.

The man swallowed, knowing that he could only give in in this situation. He silently put down the shotgun, and just as he was about to turn around, Gu Zhuo's voice rang out again:

"Take out the other weapons in your belt, don't hide them, I can see them."

Hearing this, the man was shocked. He had no choice but to take out several hunting knives and a dart from his belt with a sad face, and threw them all on the ground.

"Okay, now turn around."

Gu Zhuo looked at his whole body again and made sure there were no other weapons on him before he said this.

The man lost all his weapons and slowly turned around.
