'The Table, the Golden Donkey and the Stick'

A long time ago, there was a tailor who had three sons. The family raised a sheep, and the whole family depended on the goat's milk, so they had to feed it well. The three sons took turns to herd the sheep.

One day, the eldest son drove the sheep into the church yard, because the grass there was very lush. The sheep were grazing and jumping happily. In the evening, when it was time to go home, the eldest son asked the sheep: "Are you full?"

Yang'er replied:

"I've eaten a lot,

I don't want to touch any of them again.

Baa... baa..."

"Then let's go home." The boy said, pulling up the rope, leading the sheep home, and tying it into the shed.

The old tailor asked: "Are the sheep full?"

"It was so full that it couldn't eat any more."

The father wanted to confirm it, so he came to the sheepfold, stroked his beloved animal and asked: "Sheep, are you full?"

“Where can I get enough to eat?

Jumping over small ditches one after another,

Not a blade of grass was seen.

Baa... baa..."

"That's outrageous!" the old tailor shouted and ran upstairs to confront his son: "You kid! You said the sheep was full, but it was clearly hungry!" In anger, he took off the ruler from the wall and pulled his son over.

He was beaten and driven out of the house.

The next day it was the second son's turn to herd the sheep. He found a piece of fat and tender grass beside the garden fence, and the sheep ate it up bit by bit. In the evening, the boy wanted to go home, so he asked the sheep: "Are you full?"

Yet?"

Yang'er replied:

"I've eaten a lot,

I don't want to touch any of them again.

Baa... baa..."

"Then let's go home." The boy said, pulling up the rope, leading the sheep home, and tying it up again.

The old tailor asked: "Are the sheep full?"

"It was so full that it couldn't eat any more."

But the father didn't believe it, so he came to the sheepfold, stroked his beloved animal and asked, "Sheep, are you full?"

“Where can I get enough to eat?

Jumping over small ditches one after another,

Not a blade of grass was seen.

Baa... baa..."

"This scoundrel! Do you want to starve this docile animal to death?" he shouted, running upstairs and driving the young man out with a board ruler.

Now it was the third son's turn to herd the sheep. He wanted to do a good job, so he found a bush with lush water plants and let the sheep eat enough. When he wanted to go home at night, he asked: "Are you full?"

"

Yang'er replied:

"I've eaten a lot,

I don't want to touch any of them again.

Baa... baa..."

"Then let's go home." The boy said, pulling up the rope, leading the sheep home and tying it up.

The old tailor asked: "Have the sheep been fed?"

"It was so full that it couldn't eat any more."

The tailor didn't believe it, so he came to the sheepfold and asked, "Sheep, are you full?"

“Where can I get enough to eat?

Jumping over small ditches one after another,

Not a blade of grass was seen.

Baa... baa..."

"Oh, you liar! Each one is more irresponsible than the other! Don't try to deceive me again!" He was so angry that he ran upstairs and beat the child so hard with a board ruler that he had to escape from the house.

He and the sheep were the only ones left at home. Early the next morning, he came to the sheepfold, stroked the sheep and said, "Let's go, dear little sheep. I will take you to the pasture myself."

He held the rope and led the sheep to the green grassland. There grew stilbene and various grasses that sheep loved to eat. "Now you can eat to your heart's content." He said to the sheep. He let the sheep eat until nightfall.

At Advent, then ask: "Sheep, are you full?"

The sheep replied:

"I've eaten a lot,

I don't want to touch any of them again.

Baa... baa..."

"Then let's go home." The old tailor said, pulling up the rope, leading the sheep home, and tying it up.

Before leaving, the old tailor turned back and said, "Now you are finally full!"

But the sheep did not give him a satisfactory answer and said:

“Where can I get enough to eat?

Jumping over small ditches one after another,

Not a blade of grass was seen.

Baa... baa..."

The tailor was shocked when he heard this. He immediately realized that he had wrongly blamed his three sons and shouted: "Wait and see, you heartless guy! It's too easy to drive you away. I'm going to put a mark on you."

It makes you shameless to meet an honest tailor!"

He hurried upstairs, took a razor, put soap on the sheep's head, and shaved it until it was as smooth as the palm of his hand. The tailor thought that beating it with a ruler was too cheap, so he took out his whip and struck it hard.

He beat the sheep so hard that it ran away like crazy.

The tailor was alone at home and felt very sad. He wanted his sons to come back but he didn't know where they were.

The eldest son became an apprentice to a carpenter. He worked very hard and worked very hard. After the expiration of his term, the master gave him a small dining table before he left. The table was made of ordinary wood and was not beautiful in appearance.

Nothing special. But as long as you put the small table there and say to it: "Small table, open it quickly", the obedient small table will immediately be covered with a white tablecloth, set out with knives and forks, and plates of cooked and grilled food.

The small table was filled with delicacies, and a large glass of wine made people's hearts full of joy.

The young man thought: "That's enough for me to enjoy for a lifetime." So he traveled around the world happily, without having to worry about whether the hotel was good or whether there was food available. Sometimes he didn't stay in the hotel at all, and just wandered around the fields, forests or grasslands.

He stayed in a place that made him happy, took the small table from his back and placed it in front of him, saying: "Open the small table quickly." He could eat whatever he wanted. He lived like this for a while. Later he thought

It's time to return to his father, and his father should have calmed down a long time ago. Besides, if he comes home with this table that automatically places food and wine, his father will be happy to receive him.

One night on his way home, he walked into an inn, which happened to be full, but people welcomed him and invited him to eat with them, saying that otherwise there would be nothing to eat.

The carpenter replied: "No, I don't want to take food from your mouth. I would rather invite you to eat with me."

The passengers laughed and said he was really good at joking.

He placed the small dining table in the center of the room and said, "Open the small dining table quickly!" Immediately, a sumptuous table of wine and food appeared, but the owner couldn't do this.

The carpenter said: "Friends, let's do it!" When the guests saw that he was sincere, they were no longer polite. They moved closer to the table, picked up their knives and forks and ate. What surprised them most was that every time a bowl was finished, they

When the time comes, a full bowl will automatically replace the empty bowl.

The shop owner stood in a corner and stared blankly, not knowing what to say. He thought: "It would be great if I had such a treasure in my shop."

The carpenter and his friends happily ate and drank until late at night. Later everyone went to bed, and the young man leaned the little magic table against the wall and fell asleep too. The shopkeeper couldn't sleep, however, and he remembered that there was a small table in the storage room.

It looked very much like the magic table, so I took it out and carefully replaced the magic table.

The next morning, the carpenter paid the rent, carried the small table on his back and continued on his way. He never thought that the small table was fake.

At noon, he returned to his father. His father was very happy to see him and asked: "Dear son, what have you learned?"

"I learned to do carpentry."

"This is a useful craft. What did your apprentice bring back?"

"The best thing I brought back is this little dining table."

The tailor looked around the table and said, "You're not doing very well. This is an old and broken table."

The son replied: "But this table will automatically place wine and food. As long as I set the table and say to it: 'Small dining table, open it quickly!' The small table will be filled with delicious food and appetizing dishes."

Let’s have some fine wine. Invite our relatives and friends and let them enjoy it too. The food on the table will satisfy everyone.”

Everyone was invited, and he placed the table in the center of the room and said: "Open the small dining table quickly!"

But there was no response from the small table, which was still empty, just like the other tables. The poor young man discovered that the table had been transferred. He was extremely ashamed and felt like a liar. His relatives also laughed at him, and then he

He went back without eating or drinking. His father resumed his old business to make a living, and the young man also went to work for a master.

Besides, the second son came to be an apprentice to a millmaster. When the term was over, the master said: "Because you have performed well, I will give you a donkey. It neither pulls carts nor carries things."

"Then what will it do?" the young man asked.

"It will spit out gold. As long as you lead it to a piece of cloth and say to it: 'Brick Britt', it will spit out gold coins from the front to the back."

"This is really a treasure." So he thanked the master and went to travel around the world. Whenever he needed money, he said "Bricobret" to the donkey, and the gold coins fell like rain, and he just

Just pick it up from the ground. No matter where he goes, he always wants the best and most expensive things because his wallet is always bulging.

After a period of time like this, he thought: It's time for me to go back and see my father. If I take this golden donkey back with me, he will definitely not be angry again and will treat me well.

He happened to come to the inn where his brother had stayed, the one where the small dining table had been secretly replaced. When the owner took the reins from his hands to tie the animal, he grabbed the reins tightly and said, "No, I'll do it myself."

Take him to the barn. I know where he must be tied."

The shopkeeper felt strange, thinking that a man who had to take care of the livestock himself must not have much money. But when the stranger took out two gold coins from his pocket and asked him to buy him some delicious food, the shopkeeper was wide-eyed in shock.

He opened his eyes and ran out to buy the best food for him. After eating, the guest asked how much money he still owed. The shop owner wanted double the price, so he said he would have to pay a few more gold coins. The young man reached into his pocket and took it out.

, but the money just ran out.

"Mr. Shopkeeper, please wait a moment, I'll go get the money." After saying that, he picked up a tablecloth and left.

The shopkeeper didn't know what this meant, so he followed quietly to see what was going on. Because the guest had bolted the door of the barn, he had to look in through a small hole in the wall. He saw the stranger spreading the tablecloth.

On the ground, let the donkey stand on it and shouted "Bricobret". The donkey immediately vomited and pulled, and gold coins fell like raindrops.

"Oh my God! The gold coins were minted in a blink of an eye. What a nice wallet like this!"

The guest paid for the room and lay down to sleep. At night, the owner sneaked into the barn, took the "Money King" away, and tied an ordinary donkey in its place.

Early the next morning, the young man led the donkey away, thinking that he was leading a golden donkey. At noon, he came to his father. His father was very happy to see him and was willing to let him go home.

The old man asked: "Son, what line of work are you doing now?"

The son replied: "Dear father, I am a millmaster."

"What did you bring home from your trip?"

"Bringing a donkey."

The father said: "There are many donkeys here. I would rather have a docile sheep."

The son said: "But what I brought back is not an ordinary donkey, but a golden donkey. As long as I say to it: 'Bricobret', this obedient animal will spit out a bag full of gold. You put it

All my relatives came to me, and I made them all rich."

The tailor said: "I'd be happy to do it. This way I don't have to work hard with needlework anymore."

He ran to find all his relatives. When everyone arrived, the miller asked them to sit down, spread a piece of cloth on the ground, and brought the donkey in. "Now please pay attention!" he shouted to the donkey.

"Bricobret". However, the donkey did not spit out any gold coins, which shows that the animal knows nothing about this, because not all donkeys can spit out gold coins. The poor miller had a long face and knew

I was deceived, so I asked my relatives and friends to forgive me. They left as poor as when they came.

Let’s say that the third child was an apprentice to a turner. Because this craft is highly technical, he took the longest time to learn it. His two brothers told him their unfortunate experience in a letter, saying that they were returning home.

How the owner of the hotel where they stayed the last night secretly exchanged their treasures.

When he left school, because he studied well, his master gave him a bag and said to him: "There is a stick in the pocket."

"The pocket may be useful, I can carry it, but what use does the stick do except increase my burden?"

The master replied: "I'll tell you right now, if someone bullies you, just say 'stick, come out of the bag!' and it will automatically jump out and hit the person who bullied you on the back, making them miserable for a week.

It can't move. It won't stop until you say, 'Stick, back in the bag!'"

The apprentice thanked the master and put his pocket on his back. If someone approached and wanted to bully him, he would say: "Stick, come out of the pocket!" The stick would jump out immediately and beat the person hard until their coat fell off.

.The movements are so fast that the opponent is often struck before he can react. He has to wait until the owner shouts: "Stick, put it back in the bag!" before stopping.

That evening, he came to the hotel where his two brothers had been deceived. He put his backpack on the table in front of him and began to talk about the strange experiences of people in the world. He said: "It is not difficult for people to find a small dining table with wine and food.

A donkey that can spit out gold coins. It’s not that I look down on these excellent treasures, but they are far behind compared to the treasure in my bag. I carry this thing everywhere I go.”

The shopkeeper listened with his ears pointed and thought: "What on earth is it? The bag must be full of gems. I must get it, good things will happen one after another!"

When sleeping, the guest lay on a long bench and put the bag under his head as a pillow. The shopkeeper guessed that he was fast asleep, so he slipped over and carefully pushed and dragged, trying to take out the bag and put it on.

another one.

The spinner had been waiting for him. Just as he was about to drag him out, he shouted: "Stick, come out of the bag!" The stick jumped out immediately and beat the shopkeeper hard. The shopkeeper kept begging for mercy, but

The louder his shouts got, the harder and harder the blows with the stick got, until finally he lay on the ground unable to get up.

The spinner said: "If you don't hand over the small table where wine and food are placed and the donkey that spits out gold coins, the sticks will dance again!"

"Oh, don't!" said the shopkeeper in a low voice, "I'll give you anything, just put that magic wand back in your pocket."

The spinner said, "I pity you for now, but you have to be careful not to do bad things again!" Then he shouted, "Stick, put it back in the bag!" Then the stick stopped.

Early the next morning, the spinner returned home with a table that knew how to place wine and food, and a donkey that knew how to spit out gold coins.

The tailor was very happy to see him and also asked him what he had learned outside. He replied: "Dear father, I am now a turner."

The father said: "This is a technical job. So what did you bring back from the journey?"

The son replied: "A precious thing...a stick in your pocket."

"What? A stick!" my father shouted, "Is it worth the effort for you to carry it back? You can't cut one off any tree!"

"Dear Dad," the son explained: "This stick is different from ordinary ones. As long as I shout: 'Stick, come out of the bag!', it will jump out and teach those guys with bad intentions a lesson until they are beaten."

He lay on the ground until he begged for mercy. You see, I used this stick to take back the dining table and golden donkey that my brothers had deceived by the shopkeeper. Now you go and call them here, and also call for your relatives and friends. I want to hold a banquet.

Entertain them and keep their purses full."

The old tailor didn't quite believe it, but he still called his relatives and friends.

The spinner spread a piece of cloth on the ground, brought a donkey that could spit out gold coins, and said to his brother: "Dear brother, come and tell him."

The miller said "Bricobret", and the gold coins immediately fell down, like a heavy rain, until no one could hold any more. (I can see from your expressions that you are also very fond of it.

want to be present)

The turner then took out the dining table and said to the other brother: "Dear brother, tell it."

The carpenter just said: "Open the small dining table quickly!" The table was already filled with exquisite bowls and basins, all filled with delicious food.

The good tailor's family has never had such a delicious meal. The relatives and friends stayed together until late at night, and everyone was happy and satisfied. The tailor locked all his used needles and threads, board rulers, soldering irons, etc. into the cabinet, along with three

The son lives happily together.

What happened to the sheep who instigated the tailor to drive away his sons? I'll tell you this:

It felt embarrassed about having its head shaved, so it ran to a fox hole and hid. When the fox came back, he saw two lights approaching it in the darkness and ran away in fright.

A bear met a fox, and seeing its lost look, he asked: "Brother Fox, why are you looking so sad?"

The fox replied: "There is a ferocious beast squatting in my cave, staring at me with two flaming eyes."

"Let's drive it away right now!" said the bear, and went to its cave with the fox and peeked inside.

When it saw those eyes that were burning like fire, it felt a sense of fear. It didn't want to fight such a wild animal, so it turned around and ran away.

When the little bee saw it, it felt that it was restless, so it asked: "Big Bear, why are you so sad? Where is your happiness?"

The bear replied: "It's easy to say that there is a beast with blazing eyes in Honggu's family. We can't drive it away."

Bee said: "Big Bear, I sympathize with you. Although I am a poor little animal, and you usually don't even bother to look at me, but I believe I can help you."

It flew into the red fox's cave, stopped on the sheep's shaved head, and stung it hard. The pain made the sheep jump up and down, and screamed like crazy "咩...咩..."

It got out and ran away. Now no one knows where it is.
