The first priority to solve the problem is to find out where the problem is. Where does this noise come from? Is it the body, suspension, or engine?

With this sound, the engine's power dropped rapidly and the tank's speed slowed down.
After pulling the accelerator and removing the neutral gear, Zhang Xiangqian had a lot of experience in handling emergency matters. Soon, the tank stopped.
"What's going on?" Later, a group of people had already followed him. In addition to the Yimai Factory, there were also several technicians from the Coal Provincial Diesel Engine Factory.
"The engine has broken down." Zhang Xiangqian said: "Drag it back and take a look."
He dragged it back to the workshop and opened the back cover. Everyone stared at them with big eyes.
"What's going on? Why did the supercharger's pipe explode?" said Jin Yonglin, a technical representative from the coal provincial diesel engine factory.
The original 12150 diesel engine used a naturally aspirated method. After passing through the air filter, it directly entered the cylinder. In this way, the power increase is limited. If you want to squeeze more potential, you can boost it.
Simply put, it is to blow more air into the engine and let the engine inject more fuel, which can provide greater power.
If the supercharger is driven by the engine, this is mechanical supercharger. If the supercharger is driven by the exhausted exhaust gas, this is exhaust gas turbocharger.
In addition to the Soviet T-72 tanks that were still supercharged, other advanced tank engines have been over-turbocharged. After all, supercharged consumes extra power, while turbocharged uses exhaust gas, which is wasted without having to be used. This is equivalent to reuse of waste.
This turbocharger is the most important component of the engine. It is one linked two blades. One blade receives the blowing of exhaust gas, drives the other blade and blows the air in.
Now, the orange rubber tube outside the pump casing of the latter exploded, and a big hole broke out.
In this way, the engine will release pressure, and the intake will not get enough air, so the power will of course drop rapidly and become an ordinary self-priming engine.
"Strange, how could this pipe crack? In our diesel engine factory, after thousands of hours of test drive, the pipe is also good." Jin Yonglin said.
"It is probably because the strength of the tube is not enough." said the master Wu Ruihua: "Let's try to strengthen the strength of the tube."

If it explodes, it must be because the tube is not strong enough, just increase the strength.
"Okay, we use double-layer tubes and add clamps on the outside." Jin Yonglin said: "Actually, the existing tubes we calculated are already high enough."
He didn't think it was a problem with the strength of the supercharger. After all, the bench was good when it was tested, but now, since the pipe was blown up, the first thing that came to mind was that the strength was not enough.
After all, it is the output pipe of the supercharger. After being pressurized by the supercharger, the pressure inside is much higher. Perhaps, it may be that the strength is not enough?
If a single-layer pipe is not enough, then add a layer of clamps on the inside and outside, so that the strength is always high enough, right?
After waiting for a day, the new pipe was installed and the test drive started again.
The 730-horsepower engine made a roar, and the turbocharger made a sharp whistle, making a whistle-like sound when turning at high speed.
I guess this is the difference from the previous engine! Zhang Xiangqian thought and started the test run again.
Start, accelerate, and turn. The turret of this tank is almost the turret of the 79 tank that has been transplanted, so the main thing that needs to be tested is the stability of the chassis.
The previous 122 tanks used a tall three-hydraulic sample car, hydraulic transmission device, hydraulic control device and adjustable liquid suspension device. They sounded high-end, but in reality, failures were continuous.
Now, the chassis has been replaced in its original form, with the usual torsion rod suspension, the ordinary fixed shaft gearbox, and the pull rod operation, so it should be very stable.
The Storm Tank has started testing, and no 730 horsepower engine bursts the pipe. It is probably an exception. I guess the last pipe was unqualified.
