This historical record really cannot be fully believed. "Book of Northern Qi" says that Gao Yan attempted to seize power and usurp the throne, but "History of the North" says that Gao Yan was jealous and excluded by Yang Min and others, and had to rebel. Maybe both sides
Put together, the book is a fact.
As for why Gao Yan rebelled, we have no way of verifying it. The only thing we know is that Gao Yan rebelled and took over the throne.
The process of Gao Yan ascending to the throne, whether he rebelled willingly or was forced to rebel, is not very beautiful, but Gao Yan is indeed a good emperor.
During his reign, he flourished in both civil and military affairs, paid attention to people's livelihood issues, freed slaves, vigorously cultivated fields, built granaries, effectively solved the food crisis in the Northern Qi Dynasty, and at the same time sentenced people in accordance with the law, vigorously promoted Han culture. He also personally went to the north to conquer Kumoxi, and went north to the Great Wall.
But the enemy is thousands of miles away.
However, Gao Yan was short-lived. He reigned for only two years and died in the second year of Emperor Jian's reign (561) at the age of only 27. His posthumous title was Emperor Xiaozhao and his temple name was Suzong.
If we talk about "the right time", does this count as the right time? People always say that parents should accumulate bad virtues for their children. Gao Huan's evil history is also a lot, and he did not accumulate good rewards for his children and grandchildren.
Well, just listen to this passage. In fact, if you look at Gao Huan, then look at Gao Yang, and Gao Zhan, you will understand that "it is the fault of a son not to teach his father." The bad behavior of father Gao Huan has a great impact on the children.
Gao Cheng, Gao Yin, and Gao Yan were short-lived, and their temperament could not be seen. If they had been allowed to live, they might have become like Gao Yang. After all, the upper beam was crooked.
Before Gao Yan passed away, he suddenly thought of Gao Yin. The prince he made was even younger than Gao Yin:
I bullied Gao Yin, who was young and powerful, and killed the king to usurp the throne. But now, this situation has fallen on my son Gao Baibai. What a reincarnation of the world! That Gao Zhan is not a benevolent and righteous person, so how can he guarantee that he will not take advantage of him?
After a hundred years of killing, how about becoming the emperor himself?
He deposed the prince, gave the throne to Gao Zhan, and begged him to "treat my wife and children well."
In the winter of November of the second year of Emperor Jian's reign/the first year of Daning (561), King Gao Zhan of Changguang was located in the Nangong Palace and announced a general amnesty for the whole country. In the second year of Emperor Jian's reign, the name was changed to Daning.
According to historical records, Gao Zhan: He has a magnificent appearance and a high-spirited demeanor, and is loved by Gao Huan. People tend to flock together, and Gao Huan likes him, haha...
Lu Simian said: The troubles in the Northern Qi Dynasty were caused by Wenxuan and Wucheng. Wenxuan's heirs were young and weak, which led to the fight between Xiaozhao and Wucheng II. From then on, the clans became jealous, coveted and killed each other.
The treacherous minister therefore took the opportunity to steal the matter.
Who is Wucheng? He is Gao Zhan, the founder of the Northern Qi Dynasty, Emperor Wucheng.
What does it mean to be better than a blue man? In terms of governance, Gao Zhan is not as good as Gao Huan and Gao Yang, but in terms of debauchery, he is worse than Gao Huan and even better than Gao Yang.
For example, Gao Yin’s mother Li Zu’e.
Li Zu'e's history records: Li Zu'e was very beautiful, gentle and lovely, talented and beautiful. When she was a teenager, she had already become the king of the country. She was favored by Gao Huan, who was still the prime minister at the time. After the Ming Dynasty, she married Gao Yang, the Duke of Taiyuan. Later,
Gao Yang established the Northern Qi Dynasty and became queen.
She was also Gao Zhan's sister-in-law. However, after Gao Zhan succeeded to the throne, he used her last son Gao Shaode to coerce Li Zu'e into living with Gao Zhan and became pregnant. However, Li Zu'e could not accept the child. This was her shame.
, after the child was born, it was recorded in history that "it was not recommended to give birth to a girl".
Ahem, don’t think wrongly, “not to raise” means not to raise.
I don't know why Li Zu'e stopped raising her, which made Gao Zhan furious. Not only did he give her a whip, but he also killed Gao Shaode. After that, he drove Li Zu'e into Miaoshengni Temple to become a nun.
One more thing, after the fall of the Northern Qi Dynasty, although Li Zu'e had become a nun, she was still a member of the royal family and was captured and taken to Guanzhong. She was not able to return to her hometown of Zhao County until the establishment of the Sui Dynasty. From then on, there is no record of her in the history books.
Alas, people who cannot control their own destiny are pitiful people.
Another example is Gao Yan's eldest son Gao Baibai.
Although Gao Zhan promised Gao Yan not to hurt Gao Baibai before Gao Yan died, Gao Zhan was not a righteous person. Gao Bainian was Gao Yan's son and the former prince. Gao Zhan had to be wary of anyone taking advantage of Gao Baibai.
Pushing him down from the throne, not to mention that although Gao Baibai was a little boy less than ten years old, he had already married the daughter of the famous Qi general Hu Luguang as his concubine, which made Gao Zhan even more worried.
However, he had already promised Gao Yan in front of everyone to treat his wife and children well, but he couldn't just find a reason to kill Gao Bainian. This incident really made Gao Zhan feel heartbroken and uncomfortable.
However, in this matter, Gao Zhan showed a slight intention to kill Gao Baibai, so naturally there was a flatterer who came to lick the dog.
In June of the third year of the Heqing Dynasty (564), Jia Dezhou, a Boling native who taught Gao Baibai how to write, ran up to Gao Zhan and said that Bai Bai had written several words "Emperor" because "Emperor" had the word "Emperor" in it.
Gao Zhan was furious at the meaning of the imperial edict. This anger may be fake anger. He was not sure how to be happy in his heart. He finally found a reason to kill Gao Bainian. He was so anxious that he summoned Gao Bainian into the palace.
Although Gao Baibai is young, he also knows that his status is embarrassing. His uncle Gao Zhan has always had evil intentions towards him. Now that he suddenly summoned him into the palace, he felt that it was not a good thing. He cut off the jade knot on his belt and kept it with Princess Hulu as a gift.
It indicates that we are about to say farewell forever.
Look at a man who is hundreds of years tall, and then look at Yuan Shao. A person as big as Yuan Shao is worse than a little kid, alas!
Gao Zhan asked Bai Bai to write the word "Emperor" and compared it with the word written by Jia Dezhou. The handwriting was similar. Just the similarity, Gao Zhan decided that it was Gao Bai's handwriting and hit Gao Bai hard with the ring on the head of the knife.
When your breath is dying, you have to pray for a hundred years to reach perfection:
"I beg uncle to save my life, I am willing to be uncle's slave!"
However, Gao Zhan still beat Gao Baibai to death when he was only eight years old.
Princess Hu Lüshi held the jade in her hand and cried out, refused to eat, and died more than a month later at the age of fourteen.
As for Jia Dezhou, no records were found about him before or after him. It is estimated that either he was killed and silenced, or he was still an ordinary person, accompanying the emperor like a tiger. The emperor's flattery is not so easy to photograph.
.
Gao Zhan, like his father Gao Huan and brother Gao Yang, indulged in wine and sex. Not only did he indulge in it, but his queen Hu also indulged in it.
Qing, this is already an open secret.
The strange thing is that there is no record in the historical records that Gao Zhan had any accusations against Queen Hu because the Queen behaved so inappropriately. Was it because Queen Hu's mother clan was too powerful and Gao Zhan still wanted to cling to her and take advantage of her?
I think, among the emperors of the Northern Qi Dynasty, no matter whether they were those who were later granted the title or those who actually reigned, except for Gao Cheng, Gao Yin, and Gao Yan, none of them really could do anything. Gao Huan was a powerful minister at the time.
, and has a lot of military exploits, and is assisted by a capable son Gao Cheng. His debauchery is not very obvious, but when it comes to Gao Yang, Gao Zhan and Gao Wei, it is like the waves behind the Yangtze River pushing the waves ahead.
It was beaten to death on the beach by the waves in front.
