I haven't slept since yesterday, a full 27 hours. It was an extraordinary day, in which I encountered despair and gained a new lease of life.
Sometimes I think the plot of the novel is absurd, but in fact the reality is much more absurd than the novel.
I have said before that I am a newbie and I write very slowly. I write until around 3.4 a.m. every day, and sometimes I only write three chapters. This is also to save an extra chapter to deal with things during the Chinese New Year.
It’s not that I don’t go out to play or visit relatives and friends during the Chinese New Year, it’s mainly because my wife is going to give birth and the due date given by the doctor is the seventh day of the first lunar month.
So I knew that after the baby was born later in the year, I would have very little time to write novels, so I used the time before the baby was born to write more, also for the sake of perfect attendance in January.
I took my wife back to my hometown in the countryside on the 26th of the twelfth lunar month. She was very hot in the sun, and then went to the toilet without wearing a down jacket. The toilet was cold, so she caught a cold.
She got better after a good sleep that night, but because she was pregnant, I asked the doctor I found to deliver her, and the doctor asked me to go to the hospital for treatment.
I didn't pay much attention to it at the time, but later I realized that this was an operation that tricked me.
My wife recovered that night and no longer had a fever, so she didn't go to the hospital or tell the delivery doctor.
Then I returned to the county town on the 28th. It was a windy and rainy day, and my wife caught a cold again. She thought she would be fine after a sleep, but her body temperature rose. When she went to the toilet, she saw redness, her stomach hurt, and she was about to give birth.
Then I started calling the doctor I had found before and asked her to come and take a look.
No one answered the phone, so I had no choice but to send my wife to the hospital first and then call her.
We chose a private hospital because the delivery room is better and the service attitude is good.
But after we went there, the doctor on duty in the emergency department knew that my wife had a slight fever, so he was unwilling to take her. Then we went to the director of the obstetrics and gynecology department, and he arranged a ward for us and performed an internal examination.
I was looking for the deputy director of obstetrics and gynecology before. She was a woman. She never answered our calls. After we were hospitalized, she did. She just said that everything would be arranged for us by the doctor on duty. The implication was
She didn't care about us. We didn't know the reason at the time and thought it was because she didn't stuff the red envelope. Later we found out that she was afraid of pneumonia and deliberately avoided us.
We explained clearly that it was not pneumonia, and we took blood and did a series of tests. They all knew that it was not pneumonia, but they were still unwilling to accept us and made up a lie to trick us into leaving.
That is because the county government stipulates that all patients with high body temperature must be sent to the county hospital (public hospital). We didn't know it, so they were taken away.
Private hospitals are really disgusting. In order to avoid the pneumonia incident, they deliberately do this kind of thing. They only make simple and peaceful money. They don't take any risks and pass the blame.
The private hospital asked us to go to the emergency room, and then we had no choice but to go to the county hospital.
At this time, my wife's stomach hurt very much and she already had signs of giving birth. They didn't care at all, refused to deliver the baby and drove away the patient.
When we arrived at the emergency room of the county hospital, we went to the fever department, which specializes in treating patients with fever.
Because my wife was about to give birth, walking was a problem. Two people carried her slowly and walked step by step in the hospital. The people in the fever department asked us to go directly to the obstetrics and gynecology department because she was about to give birth.
After arriving at the obstetrics and gynecology department, the doctors and nurses here learned that my wife had a slight fever. They refused to check in and said they would not care.
We didn't know what to do at this time. They asked us to go to the hospital in the city and told us to go there quickly.
We said, there is not enough time, my wife already has two fingers, what should I do if she gives birth on the road? Isn’t this a waste of human life?
They said that instead of wasting your time here, you should go as early as possible. We really had no choice. They said that you should call an ambulance for us. There would be medical staff on board. If someone gave birth along the way, there would also be specialized personnel to take care of her.
Then, they said they didn't have a car and didn't know if they would come.
We were really helpless and had no choice but to call the number of the private hospital just now and want to go back to give birth. However, the doctor there said, "Stay there and don't leave. They will treat me."
Anyway, the two hospitals are giving each other advice. My wife is lying on the chair next to her. She can't walk at all and is almost paralyzed. She is just there, listening to these words, and no one cares about her life or death.
.
We were really desperate and had no other choice, so we said, isn’t this harmful? They insisted that we deliver the baby by ourselves. We have been there and transporting her on the road would definitely kill someone, and she would definitely give birth in the car.
We could only explain it over and over again, and then I said to take a thermometer to measure the temperature. It was 37.8, which was not very high. Then they went to discuss it, and then they saw the blood test form from the private hospital, and then they said they could allow us to give birth, but
There are significant risks, both for adults and children.
My wife's pain started at 11 o'clock at night and lasted until 2 o'clock at night. Both hospitals ignored her. My wife's eyes watered down and she was so scared.
The whole family was running around anxiously, covered in sweat.
We had no choice, we couldn't leave, and we didn't have enough time. Then we were put in a separate ward, which was equivalent to being isolated. We said yes, and then we stayed.
My wife had stomach pain all the time, and then the baby was born at 4:15 in the morning. The entire delivery lasted about 30 to 40 minutes. Fortunately, the mother and baby were safe.
The birth of my son was also a new birth, and fortunately the outcome was good.
Although I was doing all kinds of examinations during the period, including blood drawings, sending blood samples for spot checks, and there were examination items that nurses did not dare to do, I also knew that I did it myself, and finally waited until the birth of the child!
I have seen a lot of doctor-patient disputes, and I only realized what it feels like when things happen to me. I am really powerless. In any case, public hospitals are much better than private hospitals. At least they still have basic responsibilities.
Doctors in private hospitals are really rubbish. They only collect red envelopes and do nothing.
I now have to take care of my wife and children every day, so I can only post the previous inventory. I will try my best to take the time to code and ensure 2 updates. If there are any problems with subsequent updates, please forgive me, thank you!
I went through hell and heaven last night, and in the end I have to thank the doctor who delivered me.
