Chapter 538 [The story of the troll (8)]

Silithus is my last stop in southern Kalimdor.

For more than a few months, I have spent time in the heat, whether in Tanaris or Un'Goro Crater, and I have gotten used to it, and this place did not disappoint me.

Un'Goro's troll friends pointed out an almost unrecognizable path for me and my teammates, leading up from the northwest corner of the crater to Silithus, a land abandoned by the world.

This path was obviously carved by the hands of intelligent humanoid creatures, and its passage through rocks and trees was carefully measured.

Troll friends told me that this trail was opened by the mysterious night elves. They were really mysterious and only wanted to communicate with civilized troll friends and had nothing to say to us guys from other races!

I moved along it slowly and arduously. Without this path, it would be difficult to move forward.

Cross this path and enter the equally hot Silithus, and then go through a long and boring journey.

We arrived at a night elf ruins. Apparently, this land called Silithus had been inhabited by elves for a long time in ancient times.

This night elf ruin has been transformed into a sentry by the civilized troll friends and the Kaldorei.

They named this place Nanfeng Village.

The name is true to its name. The south wind is really blowing all day long in the sentry post. If it changes to the north wind occasionally, it means it will rain.

Yes, it will rain here.

It's obviously further south, and it obviously looks lonelier. But Silithus actually has more precipitation than Tanaris.

In the Tanaris Desert where the troll friends live, it only rains near the oasis where they live, and not a single raindrop can be seen in other places for several years.

Unlike here in Nanfeng Village, it rained on the first day we arrived, although it was just a light drizzle.

Southwind Village is under the administration of the Cenarion Circle, a group of druids dedicated to maintaining peace.

Trolls from Zutona also joined this organization. In the past, there were only night elves in the organization.

My troll friends on the Cenarion Circle shared their concerns with me:

"The Silikids pose a major threat to the entire Kalimdor, and even the entire world."

Well...at first I saw no sign of any major threat.

The hives of Tanaris and Un'Goro seem to have always fend for themselves.

Although there are many bugs in these two nests, they live in deserted places, and their IQ is about the same as that of wild beasts.

But after three days in Silithus, I changed my view on the Silithids, at least on Silithus.

Unlike the other two insect nests I've been to, the insects here in Silithus seem to have signs of intelligent activity.

The Cenarion Circle is here to observe and monitor the movements of bugs, and at the same time reduce their numbers appropriately.

My teammates and I took on a mission to kill bugs, the more the better. The rewards are pretty good, including gold coins, enchanted equipment, and even reputation rewards.

For adventure and for rewards, my teammates and I ventured around in this desolate and arid place.

The main locations for the adventure are the three Hives: Hive Ash, Hive Rego, and Hive Zora.

They are the three major silithid nests in Silithus, located in the north, southeast and central west.

Unlike the Grishworms in Un'Goro's Greatscar Valley, the insects here are more...tolerant of visitors?

In these three insect nests, as long as you don't make dangerous moves, the insects will allow you to get close to the edge of the insect nest, and even let you take a look inside.

From that moment on, I changed my view on silithiens: they are not mindless bugs.

They are intelligent and social.

They communicate with each other, maintain hierarchies, perform rituals, and even trade with neighboring communities.

The only thing they can't do is talk, so I can't chat with them. I have to admit, these bugs make me uneasy.

As Cenarion's friends say, if their bug brains ever thought of expanding, they would become a very serious threat.

Soon, when we killed them, the bugs no longer tolerated us.

They are organized and come in groups, which is very stressful!

Fortunately, our team is not in vain.

We killed the bugs.

by Brian Bronzebeard, Chapter 3 of Volume 2 of the masterpiece "Mysterious Land", first section of Silithus.

Silithus.

Nanfeng Village.

Silithus is a desert similar to Tanaris, but without the local intelligent humanoid inhabitants that provide drinking water.

Despite this, the frequent precipitation still maintains a high diversity of life here, at least higher than in places like the Shining Plains.

Moreover, the plants here can store water, and travelers can collect cacti to obtain water.

The most terrifying thing in Silithus are the storms and sandstorms that frequently blow over the rocks and cliffs.

To make matters worse, wandering air elements and earth elements hide in every corner, waiting for opportunities to attack passing creatures. Fortunately, their range of activities is mostly limited to the depths of the desert far away from settlements.

Compared with these, the alien bugs that stay in the nest and rarely come out don't seem to be a threat.

The Cenarion Circle and the Kaldorei don't think so, because the threats mentioned above are irrelevant.

It has its own language, its own organization, its own army, its own leaders, and even three major alien insect nests that have their own culture.

They are the biggest threat.

Especially when there are Qiraji standing behind them.

Behind the Qiraji stands one of the most terrifying enemies in the world!

Therefore, even since the Battle of Quicksand, the insects in the three major insect nests have shown themselves to be very peace-loving and have not even come out of the insect nests.

The elves did not dare to relax their vigilance.

So much so that a few years ago, with the help of trolls, the outpost Nanfeng Village, which was destroyed in the Quicksand War, was rebuilt here.

What followed was a re-establishment of the surveillance system and continuous attacks. At the suggestion of the troll friends, the Cenarion Circle hired a variety of brave adventurers to continuously reduce the aliens in the insect nest, and continued to

Get information about them.

This makes the bugs look innocent. They have done nothing but stay in the nest and happily lay eggs with the female bugs.

As a result, invaders constantly attack them, kill their tribesmen, steal their eggs, and burn down their nests...

This kind of behavior is simply a disaster for the bugs, as they are the party being invaded.

But again, the elves, trolls, and Cenarion Circle don't think so. They think this is necessary.

The alien bugs themselves are already terrifying, but they are still alien bugs that already have their own culture, wisdom and ethnic meaning.

Even the Kaldorei felt that they would rather kill the wrong person than let them go.

The adventurers' thoughts are: Bugs are innocent, and it is unjust to kill such gentle bugs!

We protest against the tyranny of the Cenarion Circle, and we want to protect our insect friends

Wait a minute, there are gold coins for killing insects? There are also enchanted equipment and other rare rewards?

Hey, brother, stop, that bug was my first sight. It is an evil bug, and I want to punish it for justice!!

It's that simple.

Therefore, Silithus and the Insect Hive, which had been lonely for thousands of years, gradually became lively with the reconstruction of Nanfeng Village.

Although many adventurers went to Zutiu and took a boat to make a fortune with the Zandalari Trolls.

About half of the adventurers still choose to stay in Silithus to kill bugs. The weather is a bit hot, but the rewards are good and the risk is not high!

Night falls.

Elune climbed to the center of the sky.

The same sky, the same Elune.

Elune's light shines across the land.

There is a tavern in Nanfeng Village, but it is only this tavern. After all, Silithus is still too remote.

No matter where the pub is, as long as there is business, it will usually be very lively.

Nanfeng Village Sentinel is just such a tavern. Of course its business is very good and it is naturally very lively.

There was a very lively atmosphere in the tavern. After a tall and strong troll god warrior walked in, the drinkers fell silent.

"Look, it's Mad Doon. He's going out again tonight. It's crazy. Silithus at night is a hundred times more dangerous than during the day!"

"After all, it's Crazy Doon. He kills as many bugs in one day as we do in a month!"

"Hey! Friends, do you want to come for a drink? I'm treating you, "Crazy Doon". Join us as a team and let's kill bugs together."

"..."

Some brave adventurers even called out to the tall trolls who came in.

He said nothing.

"Give me a glass of Sand Fruit Juice." "Crazy Doon", who is famous in Nanfeng Village and Silithus, does not drink. Every time he goes out to kill bugs, he will come to the tavern and order a glass of Sand Fruit Juice.

"Hello, it's ready for you." The bartender, a Zutona troll and also the boss, handed the prepared juice to his compatriots.

"Crazy Doon" took it and drank up the juice in one gulp.

"Bookkeeping."

After finishing speaking expressionlessly, the troll turned around and left, leaving the sighing troll bartender behind.

"He's a good troll. It's a pity that his heart is dead." The bartender whispered to himself.

"Crazy Doon" no longer cared about what happened in the tavern. He walked out of the tavern and bathed in the moonlight.

About an hour later.

Snapped!

"Crazy Doon" crushed an insect's head under his feet, making a crisp sound, and the insect's slime seeped into the sand under his feet.

Beside him were the broken corpses of seven or eight alien bugs.

These alien bugs appear to vary in size from large to small, male and female.

If there are Silithus research experts here at this time, they can tell that these mutants are probably a family of mutants. The mutants in the three major insect nests in Silithus have even developed a family concept!

There are reasons why the Cenarion Circle is so afraid of them, and this is one of them.

These bugs killed by "Crazy Doon" may be a family of bugs in the Yash Hive.

A large family of bugs came out of the cave after having dinner and drinking, and took a walk under the moonlight to chat about household matters.

As a result, they met "Crazy Doon", and the whole family of bugs immediately rushed to the street.

Killing these gentle bugs may seem unethical to some sympathetic people.

But for "Crazy Doon", the only reason to kill them is that they are bugs, and that is enough.

Wiping the insect blood off his weapon with sand, Du En looked at his shadow in the moonlight.

"Wait for me, Eisen. After I kill all the bugs, I will go find you."

The troll looked at the shadows under the moonlight and muttered to himself.

suddenly.

Du En saw his own shadow twist.

He hadn't waited for his surprise yet.

The shadow suddenly changed into the shape of a hand, pointing in one direction.

"Eisen, will you let me go there?" Du En asked in surprise.

The shadow has returned to its original shape.

With a sigh, Du En walked in the direction pointed by the shadow.

About a few hundred ancestral codes were taken.

Du En was in the insect nest and heard voices that were not insects.

The troll frowned.

Adventurers in Nanfeng Village rarely go out at night. Because they are not like him. When he goes out at night, his lover will hide in the shadows to protect him and accompany him.

She doesn't want to come out during the day.

That's why Crazy Doon comes out every night.

Following the source of the sound, Du En hid his figure and climbed up a sand dune in the insect nest.

When he looked down, he was surprised to see a valley below with many humanoid creatures standing in the valley.

Among these humanoid creatures, a bonfire was lit, and the voices that were spoken were those of these humanoid creatures.

What made Du En's heart sink was...

These humanoid creatures are surrounded by bugs, but they have no intention of attacking them at all. Instead, they seem to be still talking to them!

Crazy Doon shook his fist.

Then he was discovered.

A group of flying insects patrolled the sky. They saw Dune crawling on the sand dunes and immediately attacked him.

Night in Silithus.

It's really unsafe.
