Li Jianhui did not stay long after returning to Hong Kong. On the morning of September 18, he took Guan Jiahui, Chen Huiya, Pan Desheng and others to Johor Bahru to attend the annual ASEAN Economic Development Summit.
This time, ASEAN not only invited representatives from the business community in Hong Kong, but also from Western Europe, Japan, South Korea, the United States and Taiwan.
Obviously, the changes in the past few months have had a huge impact on ASEAN. Thinking back to the previous ASEAN Economic Development Summit, the business representatives invited were basically business representatives from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea, and business representatives from Western Europe and the United States were not specially invited.
.
In order to actively respond to this change, Li Jianhui held a plenary meeting of the Tung Wah Association at the Xinhui Hotel in Johor Bahru that evening. No member of the Tung Wah Association, including the probationary members, was absent.
As the president, Li Jianhui greeted everyone and said: "In recent months, the world economic development pattern has undergone tremendous changes. The development of our Tung Wah Association's industries has been targeted and suppressed by capital and governments from many countries and regions.
.
ASEAN, which we have been committed to building as a core market, has also been affected by recent changes.
Especially in the markets of the Philippines and Indonesia, where we currently have no large-scale deployment, the influence of Japanese, Korean and American capital is growing day by day, and the governments of these two countries also have plans to play both directions.
For the better development of our Tung Wah Association in the future, I hope everyone can pool their wisdom and make suggestions at today’s meeting.”
In recent months, not only Xinjian-related companies have been under tremendous pressure, but also the industries owned by other Tung Wah Association members have been under tremendous pressure.
In particular, members whose main industries are in the United States, Japan and South Korea are under greater pressure. For example, the Pu family of Doosan Holdings Group in South Korea and the Cheng family of the American Panda Group would have been under tremendous pressure if it were not for the support of the Donghua Association.
He lowered his head.
As a businessman, Li Jianhui, who has memories of his past life, obviously hopes to change some of the culture in Indochina. He does not want his future employees to work hard every day and go on strike whenever there is nothing to do.
Fortunately, the Tung Wah Society is not alone. British capital, led by the Rose Consortium, as well as Western European capital, led by the BNP Paribas consortium, and the Agnelli family, are working closely with the Tung Wah Society in the Nanyang market to jointly deal with capital from the United States, Japan, and South Korea.
Moreover, Tung Wah Association has always had a natural disadvantage, that is, it does not have a stable foundation. It is still a rootless duckweed. Although it has strong capital, it is very easy to collapse.
Subsequently, Gu Zhenfu, Shinawatra, Xie Funian, Pu Rongkun, Li Wenzheng, Cheng Zhengchang, etc. successively put forward their own opinions.
Although these countries are currently not suitable for our capital to enter on a large scale due to various reasons, I believe that as time develops, the door will definitely open in the future."
Although Li Jianhui has some thoughts about the Philippine and Indonesian markets, he can only follow the trend due to the current situation and the Donghua Association's own strength.
Just because of population reasons, the Malay market alone cannot meet the needs of our Tung Wah Association as its foundation.
Focusing on the seven major cities of Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Rayong, Chiang Rai, Pattaya, Chumphon and Phuket, we focus on the mid- to low-end manufacturing and service industries.
This also caused Japanese capital to return its main focus from the North American market to the Nanyang market, and Xiangjiang Capital, Baodao Capital and Nanyang Chinese Capital headed by Donghuahui naturally became its main targets.
My vision is to build the Indochina market as the foundation of our Donghua Association in the future, which includes not only Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, but also several other countries.
Originally, the Tung Wah Association hoped to take advantage of the competition between the Japanese and American consortiums in recent years to build the Nanyang market as its foundation.
The meaning is similar to that of Li Guobao. It has temporarily avoided the market in the Philippines and Indonesia, and the subsequent expansion of Tung Wah Club will mainly focus on the Thai market.
Unexpectedly, because Britain had the hope of regaining its former glory, American capital, for its own interests, wanted to trample this former suzerain country under its feet forever, and would not hesitate to give up some of its interests to fight with Japanese capital.
Therefore, during this period, Tung Wah Association faced pressure from capital from the United States, Japan and South Korea in the Nanyang market.
To this end, at the meeting, Li Jianhui specifically proposed to support Indonesian and Filipino members such as Li Wenzheng, Peng Yunpeng, and Wu Yihui in making their industries bigger and stronger.
It is also hoped that several major members can unite their domestic capital to compete with US, Japanese and Korean capital, and contain the main energy of US, Japanese and Korean capital in Nanyang within the markets of the two countries.
The world's major markets are so big. If Tung Wah Association wants to become a world-class consortium, it is bound to squeeze out the market of established forces led by the Japanese and American consortiums. Now it is inevitable to face suppression by forces led by the Japanese and American consortiums.
At the same time, the Tung Wah Association will also guide more elites to Thailand and increase cultural involvement. Chiang Rai Chinese School is just the beginning. In the future, there will be more such schools in major cities such as Rayong, Chiang Mai, and Bangkok.
In the next five years, the Donghua Charitable Foundation will shift its focus to Thailand, and the Thai market will also be given priority when building and expanding its manufacturing and production bases under similar conditions.
At this current period, the Tung Wah Association is at an embarrassing level of whether to be strong or weak or weak.
At the same time, all members and associate members of the Tung Wah Association reached a consensus to increase capital and industrial investment in the Thai market.
My opinion is that in the future, Donghua will focus on the Thai market and strive to build the Thai market into the second Malay market in five years.
In addition, Korean capital, which is supported by a US consortium, also has its own ambitions and has no intention of sticking to the local Korean market. The Nanyang market, which is relatively recent and easy to enter, has naturally become the first choice of Korean capital.
As for the Philippine market and the Indonesian market, we have limited intervention and do not need to focus mainly on these two markets and compete with the capital of the United States, Japan and South Korea.
However, temporarily avoiding the spotlight does not mean that the Donghua Association will give up the markets of these two countries. Even if it cannot dominate the markets of these two countries, it will not allow the capital of the United States, Japan and South Korea to easily control the markets of these two countries.
However, currently in the Nanyang market, the main contenders are Japanese companies and companies under the Tung Wah Association.
Faced with this situation, Li Guobao suggested: "At present, our layout in the Malay market in Nanyang has been relatively complete. It can be said that within the Malay market, our Donghua Club is the absolute leader.
Although the Tung Wah Association hopes to use the Indo-China Peninsula market as its foundation, its ultimate goal is still to make money, not to do charity. Therefore, it also hopes that the local culture will be conducive to the long-term development of the Tung Wah Association, rather than giving it to the Tung Wah Association when it comes to anything.
Add to the blockage.
In fact, Tung Wah Club's ideal is to be based on the mainland market, and only mainland employees are the most hard-working and uncomplaining employees.
It's a pity that because of its own ambition, Tung Wah Association blocked this road by itself, and could only choose the Nanyang market where there are relatively many Chinese.
