Chapter 434 [Can Skip] A Brief Talk about the Golden-winged Roc and the Demon King of Peng

【No inspiration, two chapters over, forgive me!】

The story is easy to understand, fantasy and humorous, suitable for both young and old, so it naturally becomes a family reading material suitable for all ages, while "Journey to the West" displays this work of art more vividly to the public's vision.

However, some people are very curious about why the two brothers Sun Wukong and Dapeng turned against each other and why they don’t remember their sworn friendship? In fact, this Dapeng is not the same Dapeng.

1. Sun Wukong fights Lion Camel Ridge. I believe that "Journey to the West", one of the four popular classics, is a must-read by everyone, and few people have not read this classic classic. Even if they have not read the original text, they must have watched a few episodes of TV series. Nowadays, many teenagers have also grown up under the influence of Journey to the West.

Compared with other famous works, it does not have the unbreakable love between children and children, and does not have the magnificent war scenes of "Water Margin" and "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and the scheming and strategies between various factions.

I believe that everyone will be deeply impressed by the master and disciple of Tang Sanzang fighting against the Lion Camel Ridge. The plot is ups and downs, which also makes it the most difficult step to get to the journey of the scriptures. Among the three demons, Dapeng, the youngest one, even blocked the sky with his relationship with Tathagata Buddha, and became an insurmountable obstacle for Sun Wukong to rescue his master.

Although it is not mentioned in the TV series, in Wu Chengen's original work, it is clear that this great Peng turns into a demon was sworn brother with Sun Wukong five hundred years ago, and often drinks and has fun in Huaguo Mountain.

But in the part of the Lion Camel Ridge, when Sun Wukong and Dapeng met, they did not have any clichés at all, but fought directly. Just because the Golden-winged Roc robbed Tang Sanzang, the Golden-winged Roc was like an enemy in the eyes of the monkey. So, when they met, they vowed to fight to the death, and there was no leisure and elegance of becoming sworn brothers to "remind the old feelings".

As an old brother who was close to Sun Wukong at the Eight Bibles, why did Dapeng frequently set obstacles in the journey of the four masters and disciples to obtain the scriptures five hundred years later? Did both of them lose their memories? Where did the brotherhood go back then?

2. Memories: Dapeng had become sworn with Sun Wukong five hundred years ago. The fourth chapter of the original text has already described this passage in detail: Sun Wukong returned from his master's learning, and he was named the Great Sage of the Monkey King in Huaguo Mountain, seized the treasure of the Dragon Palace in the East China Sea, and was recruited by the Heavenly Court to be named Bima Wen.

However, he was repeatedly excluded and made a big fuss in the Heavenly Palace. All the gods were no match for him. He was helpless with this monkey with great powers. Even the Jade Emperor who was in charge of the Three Realms was afraid of him.

But it was because Sun Wukong performed this unscrupulous feat in the heavens that he soon won a huge reputation in the mortal world. As his fame rose sharply, many monsters from the mortal world came to visit. The six demon kings, led by the Bull Demon King, Dapeng Demon King and other six demon kings, heard the reputation of the Monkey King, came to the Water Curtain Cave to make friends with Sun Wukong as brothers of a different surname.

The legendary Demon King Dapeng met Sun Wukong at this time. In the original work, he called himself the Great Sage of Huntian. According to the original work, Sun Wukong and these seven monsters who became sworn brothers lived a very beautiful life in the Water Curtain Cave.

During that time, they spent their spare time drinking, talking, exchanging martial arts, eating, drinking and having fun. The brothers talked and laughed, teased each other, and their relationship increased day by day. This period of time was the happiest and leisurely time before Sun Wukong was pressed down under the Five Elements Mountain.

Next, five hundred years later, the Demon King Dapeng was determined to eat his sworn brother's master, and seemed to completely disagree with Sun Wukong, a brother of a different surname. Do you remember the time when drinking and having fun together?

3. Answer: Times have changed, and it turns out that this great repent is not that great repent. The reason why the great repent in Lion Camel Ridge does not recognize Sun Wukong is because behind this relationship, there is a misunderstanding by the audience and readers. Wu Chengen described the great repent monster in Lion Camel Ridge in the original work, emphasizing that this is a golden-winged repent with great powers, which is not the same as the great repent that Sun Wukong has sworn.

Since they are all big penis, many readers and viewers confused the Peng Demon King who had been sworn with the monkey and the Golden-winged Big Pear in Lion Camel Ridge. Although these two people are from the same clan, they are not the same one.

In the original work, Taibai Jinxing once revealed the identity of the golden-winged roc to Sun Wukong. It was said that the phoenix gave birth to peacocks and rocs. The peacock mistakenly swallowed the Buddha Tathagata, and was later named the Buddha's mother Peacock and the Great King Bodhisattva by the Buddha.

From this relationship, the Golden-winged Roc is considered the uncle of the Tathagata Buddha. This is also a close connection between the Golden-winged Roc and the Western Tathagata Buddha. With this relationship with the Tathagata Buddha, it is unscrupulous in the world. Therefore, it is said that the Golden-winged Roc is different from ordinary monsters and belongs to a monster with only identity.

So how high is the status of this Golden-winged Roc, which has only one identity? The author Wu Chengen once described his status in detail, saying that as long as the Golden-winged Roc flew to Lingshan, the five hundred arhats in the west would go out to greet him. Before the tribute was delivered to the Tathagata Buddha, they had to pass through the mouth of the Golden-winged Roc. This shows how strong his background is.

From this we can see that the golden-winged roc on the Lion Camel Ridge has a very noble status, and even the gods are a little afraid of it. The Demon King of the Great Pearl in Huaguo Mountain before was just a mediocre little demon with neither identity nor background. That is why it is said that these two great rocs are not the same thing at all. The similarity is that they are both great rocs turning into monsters.

Some people also analyzed that these two great republics were one who became sworn brothers with Sun Wukong back then. The other was called the Great Republic Eagle, who claimed to be the king of Lion Camel Ridge. As we all know, the size and strength of the eagle are very different. The demons cultivated by the eagle are much stronger than the demons cultivated by the eagle. Therefore, Sun Wukong fought with the Great Republic Eagle and finally turned to the Tathagata Buddha.

The above analysis of Dapeng can explain why Sun Wukong and Dapeng from Lion Camel Ridge did not even greet each other and started a war directly. When Sun Wukong met his brother Bull Demon King again, he formed a clear contrast between the "big brother" and "brother" one by one. Therefore, the golden-winged Dapeng and Sun Wukong could not get along with each other, and it was also appropriate that the two did not know each other.

4. Extended thinking: Confusing, is this Wukong not that Wukong? Another statement seems even more brain-burning, that is, the "conspiracy theory" extended in the "true and false Monkey King" part since the appearance of the Liu'er Mihou. This is also the disagreement caused by the audience over the years, both sides have different opinions and have reasonable arguments.

Because some readers and viewers said after reading Journey to the West that after Liu'er Mihou pretending to be Sun Wukong, even though Liu'er Mihou was surrendered by the Buddha and destroyed by Sun Wukong, Sun Wukong, who returned to Tang Sanzang, was obviously weakened and did not have the edge of the previous battle. He became more mature and thoughtful than before, and was very different from the character of the previous Great Sage.

If you look at the subsequent stories with such a vision, you will feel that after the return of the "Real and False Monkey King" story, Sun Wukong has become more smooth in the various hardships he encountered later. Compared with the stubborn monkey who was determined not to hit the wall and never turned back, now he encounters some monsters that are more difficult to entangle and no longer solves the problem by relying on his own efforts.

Instead, he would directly seek help from somersault clouds to heaven, or directly seek help from Tathagata Buddha in the West and Guanyin Bodhisattva in the South China Sea. He would seek help from difficulties and obstacles. He would not only rely on himself, but also on the power of others.
