Chapter 47 Silver’s choice

"Where is the mine? Take us there..."

Silver did not continue to dwell on the problem just now. Regardless of whether the local police knew it or not, it was already the case, and the top priority was to rescue JJ.

"Spike, go get your equipment."

If you want to go into a cave to rescue people, you can't do it without equipment. Flashlights, ropes, walkie-talkies, and first-aid medicine are all necessary.

They went into the mountains in a hurry and took nothing with them, but the Sheriff's car was always equipped with these.

The police chief was a little overwhelmed by Silver's words, and didn't say anything else after that.

Spike moved quickly and came back with the equipment in a short time.

The police chief took them for a while and came to the entrance of the mine.

The mine has been abandoned for more than ten years. The entrance is sealed with two wooden fences and locked together with large iron chains.

No one had the tools at hand to break the large iron chain, but the wooden fence had long been decayed, and Sanders was able to break a gap with a little force.

Everyone entered through the gap, and then the police chief couldn't bear it anymore.

"Wait a minute..."

Seeing everyone looking over, he said to Silver again: "You all went in, what about the governor's daughter?

I just asked the girl, and she was indeed with Juno (the governor's daughter). They made an appointment to go caving, but there was an argument halfway, and the girl left on her own, and then met the murderer brothers.

Now, the girl has been found, but the whereabouts of the others are still unknown, and they may be in danger..."

Obviously, the Sheriff meant to save the governor's daughter first, but Silver disagreed.

"Sorry, my people are in danger now. I must prioritize the safety of my men."

Silver expressed his attitude without hesitation.

Based on this sentence, Jack thinks he is a good boss.

Not everyone can care less about the governor's favor, otherwise the police chief wouldn't have left JJ in front of him without saving him and ran to find Juno, whose danger was unknown.

Not to mention that Silver's choice is likely to offend the governor. It doesn't matter that the governor's daughter is fine, but if something happens, Silver will definitely be angered.

"Well, good luck to you."

The Sheriff didn't say anything more and left with his men. Silver didn't look down on this person either. It was just a personal choice.

The Sheriff chose his future, and Silver chose his men's lives.

"Spike, you and I go in to find someone, and Sanders stays outside to contact the rescue team."

The Sheriff's departure did not cause any waves, and Silver made a quick decision.

Because Sanders was too big, it was not suitable to go into the cave to find people, so he stayed outside to contact rescuers.

"I'll go with you." Jack suddenly said.

He admitted that he was a little impulsive.

He actually already knew what these monsters were, the underground creatures in "Dark Invasion", but Silver's choice just now made him willing to do something for them.

The atmosphere of this team made him feel envious.

The members are as close as family and rely on each other when encountering difficulties. Everyone can trust the other's support.

Jack was a little envious of them. This kind of comradeship was something that the original owner of this body had when he was in the Marine Corps, but he had never had it.

In his previous life, Jack was an orphan. After joining the mercenary group, there were all masters who recognized money but not people. After time travel, the original master had joined the "Stumbling Block". He always carried out tasks alone, lived alone, and completed tasks alone.

Recuperate alone.

Silver glanced at him and did not refuse. Jack always gave him a strange feeling, but one more person gave him more strength. The group of people took the equipment and walked deeper into the mine.

This place has been closed before, with no air circulation and poor quality. The support structure is also unstable. It may have been abandoned for too long. It encountered several collapses along the way, and many of the wood used for support were weathered to varying degrees.

.

After walking for more than ten meters, it was completely dark inside, so I could only rely on a flashlight for lighting.

The ground is not flat, one foot is lower and the other is higher.

Under the illumination of the flashlight, a hole diagonally downward suddenly appeared on the side of the tunnel.

The stubble on the edge of the hole obviously appeared recently, maybe it was caused by the previous grenade explosion.

Visual inspection shows that the direction of the hole is similar to the hole where JJ fell.

After discussion, the three decided to go in and try their luck.

Silver wanted to do it by himself, but Jack stopped him, "I'll do it."

He has a keen eye, even if he is in the dark underground and loses all his eyesight, he will not be affected, but the same cannot be said for others.

"Take this."

Silver handed Jack a shock bomb.

"Just in case, I only brought two of these. The grenades were used just now, so this is the only one left. I hope you will never need it."

Jack nodded and fixed the spare magazine, walkie-talkie and flashlight on the tactical vest, while Sanders tied a length of rope around Jack's waist.

"I went."

"Be careful. If you are in danger, call us or pull the rope hard."

As the two watched, Jack was put into the hole by the rope.

About a minute later, Jack landed. There was a somewhat open space here. With the dual blessing of the flashlight and the inner eye, Jack could clearly see the surrounding situation.

JJ is not here, but there are some obvious marks on the ground.

Jack picked up the walkie-talkie: "I'm in the end. There's no danger for the moment. I didn't see JJ, but there is a set of footprints on the ground that should be hers. I'm going to follow the search..."

After notifying the people above, Silver and Spike also came down after a while. Silver also studied the footprints, and it looked like they belonged to JJ. Everyone was a little excited and continued to search along the footprints.

The progress seems to be smoother than they imagined, and they hope to find JJ soon.

The openness here was beyond his imagination. There were passages in many directions. It could be seen that the inside of the mountain should be a natural cave. The place where JJ fell was part of the cave, but it was covered by soil before. This time

The explosion of the grenade caused the soil to collapse.

The passage is very long. Jack walked for a while and still didn't see the end.

On the ground, Sanders was worriedly guarding the entrance of the mine. He had already contacted the rescue team, but how long it would take to get there would depend on God's will.

Underground, a group of people continued to search along the footprints on the ground in the dark.

Silver used the walkie-talkie to inform Sanders of the following situation, but soon the signal on the walkie-talkie became poor.

Underground, everyone swam through calf-deep underground water, and then stopped in front of a mountain wall.

The water stains on the ground proved that JJ had been here before, but there were two water stains, which proved that something was following JJ. Jack thought of those ogres.

The water stains extend all the way to the front of the mountain wall.

Jack walked over. It was a narrow passage, only big enough for one person to crawl through.

There are traces of crawling in the passage, obviously JJ just passed by here.
