Chapter 48 No retreat

Jack could imagine JJ's situation at that time. She suddenly fell to the ground and must have been extremely frightened. Maybe she heard some noise that made her afraid to stay where she was and wait for rescue.

Relying on the faint light of her mobile phone, JJ walked all the way. Crossing the water must have made her nervous. When she came to the mountain wall, she might have noticed something following her, and she hurriedly dived in before she had time to find another way.

Entered the short passage.

Everyone felt that they had to speed up. He had to find JJ before that thing caught her.

Jack scanned the passage with his mind, and after some discussion, Jack came first.

The passage is actually a natural rock crevice in the mountain. It extends in all directions and is not straight. The passage in front of Jack is very narrow, only enough for one person to crawl through, and the climb is very hard.

Although Silver analyzed that the vision of these ogres had deteriorated, Jack did not dare to take risks. He turned off the flashlight and relied on his mind to act as his eyes throughout the process.

The narrow passage made it very difficult for him to move. He could only move little by little. The things on his tactical vest kept rubbing against the surrounding rock walls, making a squeaking sound.

Jack thought of a word: claustrophobia.

In such a dark environment, one cannot see anything and the whole body is restricted, which can really drive people crazy.

If you don't do it right, it will be a tragedy if you get stuck in the middle.

Silver and Spike, who were waiting outside, looked at the dark cave entrance and felt anxious. The rock crevice was not straight. Jack disappeared from sight not long after climbing, and could only occasionally hear sounds coming from inside.<

In order not to cause trouble, they did not dare to call Jack unless Jack contacted them.

It was eerily quiet in the darkness. Except for the sound Jack made, everything else was quiet.

Climbing to a fork in a rock crevice, Jack seemed to hear some different sounds. He stopped, but the sounds were still there.

After scanning his mind, Jack was horrified to discover that at some point, an ogre appeared in front of the passage.

Jack didn't dare to move. In his mind, it seemed that the ogre hadn't noticed him yet, but he also sensed something was wrong and was listening to something.

Time seemed to stand still and Jack did not dare to move, but the ogre seemed to have determined Jack's position and suddenly started to move, roaring and crawling towards Jack.

Jack was horrified. The ogre's movements were ridiculously fast, and his smaller size than normal humans limited him to very few restrictions.

Jack was anxious. The pistol was in the holster on his leg and could not be reached at all. Jack could only retreat quickly, but the tight rock wall restricted his movements. He could only move bit by bit, and his speed was different from that of the ogre.

The difference is huge.

The movement inside aroused the alert of Silver and the two, and they also knew that Jack must be in danger inside, so they pulled the rope desperately.

Jack retreated quickly, but he couldn't match the speed of the ogre.

In the blink of an eye, the ogre was in front of him. Jack took out the dagger from his left arm and held it in his hand. When the ogre rushed to an arm's length away from him, he suddenly drew the knife and stabbed the ogre's head.

Probably due to being out of the sun for a long time, the ogre's skull is not as hard as the human skull. When Jack stabbed the ogre with a knife, the ogre seemed to have been pressed on the pause button and remained motionless.<

"Ho ho ho ho..."

Familiar roars came from behind. They were other ogres, but in the narrow passage, they were blocked by the corpse of the ogre in front.

Jack quickly retreated, but Spike's reminder suddenly came from behind.

"Wait a minute..."

Boom~~

It turns out that the violent movement just now caused the already fragile rock crevice to be overwhelmed and collapsed.

The collapsed part was just in the direction Jack was retreating from. Although the escape route was not completely blocked, it was definitely impossible to get out.

The ogre in front was still struggling to get through the gap next to the corpse. Now was not the time to hesitate. Jack immediately crawled to another fork in the road.

Not far away, most of the ogre's body has squeezed through the gap, and it may pounce at any time.

To Jack's surprise, the other branch was very short. Jack quickly climbed out. It was very empty outside and there were no ogres.

Behind him, the ogre had completely squeezed through the gap, roaring and chasing him. Jack stabbed the ogre in the head, ending his life.

Fearing that it was not safe, he made two more cuts, then moved a rock to block the entrance of the cave.

Only then did he feel his heart pounding.

"I'm safe. I will find my own way. You can go to the left. There is another way there."

Silver and Silver breathed a sigh of relief when they heard Jack's voice on the intercom. Although they couldn't see anything just now, they heard the movement in the cave and knew that Jack had encountered an ogre.

Fortunately, Jack survived the storm safely.

Now Jack is trapped here without any support and can only find a way on his own.

The surrounding area was very empty, and no sound could be heard. There were many caves like the one he just drilled out of, but there were many ogres to escape from.

He'd better leave now.

Jack stepped lightly and walked carefully, while his eyes scanned in all directions.

The underground cave is very large, and the roads inside are twists and turns. In order to prevent getting lost, Jack marked each intersection with stones.

After walking for an unknown distance, there was the sound of water in front, and occasionally there was some light in the dark cave. Jack thought it was sunlight at first, but when he walked in, he realized it was fluorite.

There was a fork in the road ahead, and forks like this were almost everywhere in the cave. Jack shone his flashlight on both sides, and it was pitch black.

In this dark underground, all the light seemed to be swallowed up, and the flashlight's range was not even comparable to his inner vision.

When Jack was hesitating which way to go, he vaguely heard something.

The sound sounded like the roar of an ogre, but it was still some distance away.

According to Jack's limited contacts, the ogre only roars when it makes an attacking posture, so the most likely thing is that the ogre has seen its prey.

When I think of prey, the most likely one is JJ.

When I was about to go over and take a look, I suddenly heard another set of footsteps.

Jack leaned against the rock wall and touched the handle of the gun. He hesitated and then changed it to a dagger.

The footsteps continued, and when I glanced over, I saw two ogres, one large and one small, running quickly in the direction where he was.

The footsteps of "papa, papa" are getting closer and closer. It is the sound made by the friction between the paws and the ground when running.

Jack was nervous, and the dagger in his hand was ready for battle. But the two ogres seemed not to have seen him, and ran straight past him, towards the screams.

Jack couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief until the other party left the range of his heart's eye. However, this time it was also proved that the eyes of these ogres had indeed deteriorated. The other party turned a blind eye to the obvious light source of Jack's flashlight just now.
