Chapter 7 The Heart is Buddha
Chapter 7 The Original Heart is Buddha
As soon as Bai Yong's question came out, the monks present fell into thinking again. Many of them were already sweating profusely, constantly wiping away the sweat from their foreheads with their hands, and even white smoke came out of their heads.
Xuan Gala conveys power and rings the bronze bell in the temple, making it make a loud sound, which refers to the existence of "original heart". The cleverness of this hand is that it avoids the meaning of theoriginal heart that is referred to by the positive answer, and also uses puns to connect puns.
He said, "This is the original heart." The "this" in his words can refer to both the body of the copper bell and the sound of the bell made by the copper bell. The bronze bell corresponds to the individual of oneself, and the sound of the bell corresponds to the original heart of self-exploration. There is only one self, but the sound of the bell can penetrate into the ears of many people, which appropriately explains the dual meaning of the original heart.
This is a mysterious artistic conception that is so mysterious that it is difficult to explain directly in words, which can be derived from it. For example, the self is visible, but the original heart is invisible but can be felt, just like a bronze bell is visible, but the bell rings are invisible but can be felt; for example, we know the existence of a person by feeling the original heart of a person, and distinguish it from others, just like we judge the existence of a bronze bell by hearing the sound of a bell; for example, the sound of a bell originates from a bronze bell, without a bronze bell, there is no bell ringing, the original heart also originates from the self, without self, there is no original heart...
In short, many truths can be understood from it. Everyone has their own ideas and understandings when they hear it, and cannot fully express it. To laymen, this is completely a fantasy, incomprehensible, and it is simply a trick to fool people. But in the eyes of real experts, this is indeed mysterious, just like a list of numbers is an ordinary number in the eyes of ordinary people, but in the eyes of mathematicians, it becomes the key to uncovering a certain law.
All the experts present are insiders, and they will not make such self-righteous low-level mistakes. But it is precisely because of the experts that they can understand the wonderfulness of Bai Yong's answer. Using magic to form a wall of airflow and bounce back the sound is not difficult. The difficulty is to respond in time and come up with such a perfect way of answering.
He borrowed the bell ringing sound from Xuan Gala and responded with echo, which was to attack his shield with his spear. The "this" he asked in reverse can also refer to two things. If it refers to the original heart, what is the question "if the bell ringing just now is the original heart, what is the echo now?" If it refers to the self, what is the question "if the self just now is the copper bell that produces the bell ringing, then what is the current self? Is the body of the echo a bronze bell or a blocking obstacle?"
In addition, there are many mystery that exist in one mind and in one's own way.
Xuan Gala and Yun He are incredible because they understand the meaning of it, and they feel it is very difficult. The current situation is like they have just used a trick, but they didn't expect that they were rebounding back by the opponent with their tricks. If this is a fatal blow in a real battle, the tricks are rebounded back, and it is almost impossible for you to rebound again.
The Palace of Light suddenly became silent, and the needle fell to the sound of it. Lamas thought hard and did not say a word. Occasionally, a few thoughts of something, often wanting to speak but stopping, but when they came to their mouths, they felt that this kind of answer was not very appropriate and some omissions were far less than the cleverness that Bai Yong had just answered.
I don’t know how long this quietness took, but only sweat dripped gently on the ground and made a sound. Bai Yong didn’t urge him, sitting there as steady as Mount Tai, without any intention of taking this opportunity to beat the dog in the water. It seemed that the winner was not in his eyes, and it seemed that he was sure to win and win, as if he was a big Buddha, sitting there calmly, without any arrogance or impatience.
A sigh came gently, and in this quiet hall, everyone's eyes gathered in the center, and then he saw the Fazun Sakya Panchen Lama slowly opening his eyes, pointing one hand to the sky and the other hand to the ground, and saying, "This is the Buddha."
If the bell rings is the original mind, then the echo is the Buddha, and it also has the same corresponding meaning for other symbolic meanings.
It is said that there was a lay Buddhist in Xipo and Zen Master Fo Yin sitting in Taoist Zen. The lay Buddhist suddenly asked the Zen Master: What do you think of me? The Zen Master smiled and replied: A Buddha is a Buddha. The lay Buddhist is happy and glorious. The Zen Master asked back and said: How do you look at me? The lay Buddhist sneered and said: A bunch of shit. The Zen Master smiled calmly and his expression became more calm.
After returning home, the layman proudly told the younger sister that she had a "masterpiece": Why do she become a Buddha, and why did the Zen master be a shit? The younger sister sighed: I only know today why the Zen master is a Zen master, and why ordinary people are ordinary people.
The layman quickly asked the reason, and the younger sister replied: The Zen master has a Buddha in his heart, so he sees that everything is Buddha, and his brother has shit in his heart. Therefore, he sees that everything is nothing is shit. When the layman hears his sister's words, he is sad and feels ashamed of himself.
Of course, this is just a legend, and the legend cannot be verified, but the Buddhist principles to be expressed are real. In the answer of the Dharma Lord, the bell and echoes come from the origin, one is the self and the other is the Buddha, which is actually a secret in line with the Buddhist principles of the above allusions - when you have a Buddha in your heart, you are the Buddha.
As for the movement of the Dharma Lord pointing to the sky with one hand and the other pointing to the earth with the other hand, it comes from the allusion after the Buddha was born, pointing to the sky with one hand and the other pointing to the earth with the other, saying: "I am the only one who is above the world."
The lamas present were proficient in Buddhism and naturally understood the meaning of the Dharma Lord's answer. Although it was not perfect, it was indeed a good answer. But they were not happy to answer Bai Yong's question, because at the beginning, they treated Bai Yong as a slim fish and made a bet for anyone who won, and did not take Bai Yong seriously at all. What was the result?
I was taught a lesson well. If the Dharma Lord hadn’t spoken, Tantra would have been so shameless this time.
Moreover, the master who was quick-thinking, such as Xuan Gala, also remembered the question asked by Bai Yong at the beginning, which was "asking the Buddha". As a result, after a long circle, the answer came back. Is there any possibility that he did it on purpose?
The monks didn't think about it, and they didn't dare to think about it. But the cold sweat blew out of their foreheads became more and more. The meditation skills of years of life were obviously a little weak at this moment.
At this time, the Dharma Lord looked at the monks around him, some were depressed, some regretful, some were angry, and lost the Buddha's heart. So he said in a sound like the sound of the evening drum and morning bell: "According to the law, not to the person, not to the word, not to the wisdom, not to the consciousness, not to the ultimate meaning sutra."
The Four Truths are like hearing a lion's roar, and the sound of the clouds and thunder sounds spread. All monks all realized that the spiritual platform was clear, and all kinds of troubles and distractions were eliminated. They calmed down and put their hands together and recited the six-character mantra in their mouths: "Om Mani Pame Hum."
At this time, Bai Yong said: "There is something that just happens to be the original owner."
Then under the eyes of everyone, he took out the original ** of the "Brahma Buddha Seal" and explained the grudge between Viagatian and Chanyin Temple back then. But he hid himself practicing the above skills and realized the Wulian Holy Kung Fu. After all, speaking this kind of thing is not good for his position. What he is in his body is Wan Tu Yuan Gong, and his Taoist true energy is strong, and no one has doubts.
Xuan Gala and Yun He looked at each other incredibly, both understood that this time they were completely lost. The other party used the same carrot skillfully. First, they raised questions in the field they were best at. Although they did not win in the end, Bai Yong used one person to the other group of people, and it was him who praised the people of the world, not Tantric Buddhism. Then he brought back the remnants of the Taoist Scripture that had been lost for many years in Tantric Buddhism and gave favors. In this way, the goal was basically achieved, unless Tantric Buddhism was shameless.
Both palace masters were unhappy. Needless to say, Xuan Gala was incredible, even though he was standing on the side that did not send troops, he subconsciously wanted to take this opportunity to blackmail the Zhengdao Alliance and talk to the person who gave his grace. Now he lost that advantage. Bai Yong showed through his practical actions that the Zhengdao Alliance has emerged in many talents and is not afraid of Tantric Buddhism at all, even if it is just on the surface. Because what people in the world value it is this superficial reputation.
He thought that the next thing was to negotiate the alliance matters. Xuan Gala, who lost the debate in the Buddha, deliberately made things difficult for him, so he said, "Thank you for fulfilling the wishes of my predecessors, but thank you no matter how grateful you are, public and private must be clear."
He wanted to regard the return of the "Brahma Buddha Seal" as a kindness to Viagatian, rather than Tantric Buddhism, so that he could gain a little advantage in the subsequent negotiations. Unfortunately, before he could formally raise the topic, he heard Bai Yong say: "I still have a tea question when I come here this time. I would like to ask the master to give me advice on the sake of returning the jade to Zhao."
He curled his smile and sat upright, emitting a serious aura on his body.
The monks came to the same idea and knew that the next thing was the real problem. Just now, it was just a throwing brick to attract the attention of the people. The mind that had just settled tightened again, and they all cheered up and took it seriously.
Why did you incredible to see the brothers who changed their previous confident expressions and instead showed a cautious attitude and had other ideas in their minds. From the other party's standpoint, you should raise the topic from the beginning, so that you can use your own underestimation to achieve unexpected results, but the other party just goes the other way, first give us the following warnings to attract our attention, and then raise the topic. From this we can see that the other party is very confident about the next Buddha's question and can ask us directly.
Bai Yong not only wants to win, but also wins indisputable ways. The draw just now obviously cannot meet his expectations.
If it was the beginning, why wouldn’t you think the other party was arrogant? But now you will only remind yourself to be more cautious. Otherwise, if you fail, Tantra will really be discredited.
Under the gaze of the monks' attention, Bai Yong took out a pot of tea that had been prepared and four cups and asked, "I wonder which master came to taste the tea in person?"
At this time, Mo Ke, a lama below, realized it and said, "The little monk knows a little about the Central Plains tea ceremony, so let the little monk give the first-class donor incense tea."
Xuan Gala nodded, knowing that among the disciples present, Mo Keshi was truly called the master of tea ceremony. As for his accurate answer, he would give Yun He Busy the other side, he was no longer considering it. Compared with internal disputes over power and criticism, it is obviously more important to deal with foreign enemies.
Bai Yong's step-by-step advance made the two opposing schools of Tantric Buddhism let go of all prejudices and work together to deal with it.
