Chapter 40 Confession(1/2)

"Alyssa! Alyssa..." There were shouts outside the lounge.

The Whites rushed into the Robbery-Murder Division.

The family of three hugged each other and cried.

The whole office was filled with crying, but Luke and others didn't feel it was noisy.

On the contrary, everyone looked relaxed and smiling.

Alyssa's rescue is the best reward for their efforts in investigating the case.

Luke watched quietly, feeling something change in his heart...

Since his rebirth, cultural differences have made him a little out of place. Lapd is just a job for him.

I don't care about the so-called honor, responsibility, and obligation.

Staying in Robbery and Murder Division is more about the detective system.

Now seeing the family of three reunited, Luke feels a sense of accomplishment.

This feeling...is not bad.

White's parents expressed their gratitude to each of the police officers.

Very sincere.

Nothing is more important to them than their daughter coming back alive.

After seeing off the White family of three, it was already four o'clock in the morning, and the team members were all a little tired.

Susan arranged for everyone to rest.

At nine o'clock in the morning, a case summary meeting was held in the conference room.

The team members gathered all the clues and made final preparations for interrogating the author.

Susan glanced at everyone and landed on two people, "Luke, Marcus, you two are responsible for interrogating Dave."

"What?" The deputy team member spread his hands and looked questioning, "Are you kidding? This guy's IQ is at least 140, and you actually sent two rookies."

"I know this guy is difficult to deal with. He is cunning, knows the law, and is familiar with police interrogation methods. Your experience may not be effective on him. I plan to use a surprise attack."

Luke touched his chin and said, "Avatar? Is this a compliment?" He looked at Marcus next to him and sighed secretly.

trial room.

Dave has been handcuffed to the interrogation chair.

Seeing Luke and Marcus coming in, Dave showed a smile and said, "Oh, Officer Luke, Officer Marcus, we meet again. It feels so cordial to see familiar faces here."

"Luke, do you smell the smell of urine?" Marcus wrinkled his nose exaggeratedly, and finally looked at Dave on the interrogation chair, "Mr. Lawyer, you really can't change your ways.

Something wrong."

Luke didn't answer, so Dave used the trick of peeing his pants to divert attention, making the police lower their vigilance against him.

From a certain perspective, this is a shame for the police.

Luke said seriously, "Lawyer Dave, you know the law and I didn't expect to see you here."

"I'm a little surprised too. Shouldn't you be hunting down Steven? Why did you find me?"

"You're confident."

"I asked myself that there are no big loopholes in the plan. How did you find out?"

Luke did not answer directly, but asked, "What is your relationship with Tony Weir?"

"A few years ago, I helped him with some small favors. I think he is an old customer with whom we have a good conversation."

"Is it the modified Taser you instructed him to buy?"

"No."

"Dave, you should know that the current situation is not good for you. If you want to get a reduced sentence, you must cooperate with the police."

"I told the truth. I borrowed the Taser from him, but I didn't instruct him to buy it. I don't know why he bought this gun?"

Luke opened the evidence bag and took out a white plastic bag with a Taser inside. "Is this the gun?"

"Yes."

"When did you get this gun?"

"It should be mid-February."

"The specific time?"

"Maybe it was the 15th or 16th. It's been almost a month, and I can't remember clearly."

"What did you do with this gun?"

"As you can see, I used this gun to kidnap Alyssa."

"What about other than that?"

Dave spread his hands, "I don't understand what you mean."

Luke asked, "Before Alyssa was kidnapped, two Taser robberies occurred near the club. The two women had similar appearance to Alyssa, and they were all stripped of their clothes. Did you do it?"

of?"

Dave thought for a moment, "Oh, I've heard of these two cases, but they have nothing to do with me."

Luke smiled and said, "I'll give you another chance, do you admit it?"

Dave put his arms on the interrogation chair and said calmly, "If you want to prove my guilt, bring out the evidence."

"Dave, don't take any chances. The police have clearly identified you and found some burned items in your yard.

However, the burning was not complete, and some items were still retained, such as mobile phone parts, jewelry, and clothes buttons, and these were exactly the items that were robbed by the first two victims.

This evidence is enough to convict you."

Dave was silent for a while before saying, "I admit that I was responsible for these three cases."

Luke changed to a comfortable sitting position and asked, "What's the motive?"

"Don't you already know?"

"I want to hear what you have to say."

"Then tell me first, why can you investigate me?"

"We traced Tony Weir based on the clues from the Taser, and traced the clues to you." After Luke finished speaking, he asked, "It's your turn, why did you do these three cases."

Dave said, "Because of love."

"Pfft..." Marcus couldn't help laughing, "Do you really think you are a lover?"

"I wish I were a lover, and things wouldn't have come to this. What do you, a nigger, know?" Dave looked at Luke aside, "Why would a guy like this appear in the interrogation room? Police

Is there no one in the detective bureau?"

Luke made a silence gesture to Marcus beside him, "Dave, keep talking."

“In my junior year, I fell in love with Alyssa, but she didn’t choose me, but my good friend Steven.

Through hard work, I became a lawyer, gained wealth, and gained status, but I lost the woman I loved most.

I thought I could meet someone better and forget her, but I was wrong.

Every time I see them together, it hurts me and I start to distance myself from them.

One time I went to a club and saw Alyssa dancing. I couldn't believe my eyes. My goddess, the woman I regarded as my life, actually did such a thing again.

For the first time since I became a lawyer, I lost my mind..."

Dave sighed, "I want to help her and don't want her to continue dancing in the club. I confess to her again that I hope he can leave Steven and be with me."

When I said these words, I felt my whole body relaxed.

Steven is a good friend of mine, and I have always suppressed my feelings for Alyssa.

But Steven failed to fulfill his responsibility as a husband and actually let Alyssa dance in the club. Since he can't take care of Alyssa, then it's up to me.

I didn’t expect… Alyssa refused!”

"Hey, man, you're wrong, that's not how you pick up girls, you're too impatient.

You saw the embarrassing side of Alyssa, the time when she was most helpless. As soon as you met, you told her that you wanted to give her money and asked her to leave her husband. She would think that you wanted to support her. Most women would resist."

Marcus talked calmly.

Dave asked, "What should we do?"

"You should ask her for a drink first, have a good chat with her, let her feel your sincerity, and then you have a chance. As long as the two of you sleep together, the rest will fall into place, and she won't do it again.

Resist you."

Dave didn't respond. Maybe the method Marcus said was more appropriate, but it was only suitable for picking up girls and having fun.
